- Quick look at all the different sheen Angelus has to offer with our Acrylic Finisher Line.
After using Angelus Leather Acrylic Paint, apply Angelus Acrylic Finisher to help protect the paint from minor scratches/scrapes. Available in a variety of finishes from Matte, all the way up to High Gloss.
Duller may be added to each finisher for a more Matte shine. We do not recommend adding more than 0.5 oz of duller to a 4 oz. bottle of finisher.

Their normal leather paint is Acrylic. Acrylic is just water based

Canvas doesn't need any finisher?
Finisher is optional and not required for any materials. Finisher will add a different amount of sheen to your project so it's all preference.

You can use it on canvas, but it can potentially stiffen the material. That is something to consider before applying it on the canvas.
I finished my restoration but at the end applied 2 coats of 600 Normal Finisher. I think they are too shiny. Can I apply a 3rd coat with the Matte finisher?

We've been working with leather since 1907, so we made sure to formulate our paints to really adhere to leather. We've also made sure the paint is flexible enough to prevent cracking/peeling.

Our High Gloss finisher will closely resemble a patent leather look, but it will not have the same plastic-like coating feel.

Yes, exactly that! From lowest to highest shine, Matte, Satin, 600, High gloss.

Hey guys, i’ve recently completed my custom af1 shoes. My question is if the matte finisher is water/dirt resistant, and if not can i apply a polish type product that does protect from water and dirt? Thanks!
Hi! The finisher is a top coat that will give your project a nice sheen along with minor protection against scratches and scrapes. Using a polish will work for protection along with our Mink Oil or our Water and Stain Repellent. It strictly preference and as long as the shoe was prepped properly with acetone or our Leather Prep the paint will be just fine.

All of our paints do Contain a finisher in them. The 4 finishers that we carry are for a certain type of shine/look. Painted a belt white with your paint and was gonna use the sealer on it. I usually oil my belts with neetsfoot oil. If I deal first will the oil penetrate? If I oil first and let dry completely will the sealer work? Since I painted it with your acrylic paint, will the oil even penetrate the belt?

Correct! that would be what we consider the most used for finishes.
Sounds strange .. but which is the best finisher to seal suede .. i know sounds abstract . I just want to make sure my customs don't start dripping colour if it happened to rain
No finisher is needed when working with Suede. Also, you want to make sure you are using suede dyes rather than acrylic paints on suede. Once you paint on suede, the material will become stiff making the texture of the suede hard causing you to lose the suede feel. Correct, Angelus Duller is mixed with Angelus Paint or finisher to reduce the amount of shine. Perfect item if you want the "Matte" or "Flat" look.

Not really since that is a different type of pigment. Already has a sheen to it due to the metallic.

Hi, I 'm trying to repaint my docmart and I have these little bubbles while applying Angelus acrylic finisher matte with paint brush. Is that normal?
It's something that may happen from time to time but shouldn't be too often at all. Make sure to shake the bottle really well and then let it settle. Go ahead and apply light layers using a brush, sponge, cloth or ideally, an airbrush. Using an airbrush may provide the best results. Once you have a light layer of finisher down, heat it up right away using a heat gun. Here's a video with more info.

Ive bought dark blue, and matte finisher, the final product was just too glossy that my friends actually thought it was wet, what’s causing this and how can i avoid it next time
Regardless of the finisher, there's going to be gloss. High Gloss provides the most while Matte will provide the least amount of shine. If you are looking for a full matte/flat look then we suggest adding 5-8% of duller to the finisher and/or paint. The finisher is optional and is not required for the paint to adhere or last. Help me out here, would applying this on PU leather prevent or at least prolong it from peeling?
No, finisher may help by adding a little extra protection against scratches and scrapes but is not the end all, be all for preventing peeling. It's all about the prep. To prevent the paint from peeling you must us acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer to remove the factory finish to allow the paint to properly adhere to the surface. For PU leather, you may also want to add a couple of coats of Adhesion Promoter. This can be found at most hardware or automotive stores. Once the proper prep has been done then light and even coats of paint may be applied. Doing these steps will allow the paint to properly adhere to the leather and there shouldn't be any peeling. what type of finisher should I use for my white infrared 6s I painted a bit of the toe box area and like if I focus on it I can see it stands out so yea does it need finisher?
Use the matte finisher man, unless you want it to shine, then go for the high gloss. The matte would look better and more true to the shoe though.

There is finisher in all our paints already. Once you mix the 2-soft with the paint you can apply a finisher if you like. However, it is totally optional. 👍
i think calling normal by that name is a bit misleading as u expect it to not have much of an effect on the shoe but it really does
All Finishers will have a sheen to them. Matte being the lowest shine. Normal finisher will give you a standard sheen to it. It absolutely will have standard look to it. If it is too shiny for your liking try the Satin or matte finisher or you can add some duller to the normal finisher to take some off that shine. A few drops of duller will work 👍

Angelus Shoe Polish i have a question, i used the 600 finisher on leather and let it dry for about 24 hours but it still feels a little tacky, what do i do? Do i let it dry another day? Or is there something else i can do?
Can i still apply the finisher after 48 hours?
Yes. Finisher is completely optional and may be applied anytime after the paint is fully dry. Adding the finisher will give the project a nice sheen and can help with extra protection against minor scratches and scrapes.
How many coats do you need to use?
No more than 2 should be just fine.
Can the matte be brushed on with a paintbrush?
It can! make sure to use a synthetic brush for application. Seems to work best.

normal because flat colors are already matte. i just painted the soles on my fire red 5s flat black and used a matte finisher and there was no difference.
Actually flat because if you use normal it’s gonna be shiny depends on what you want tho

@@azihaidari6717 it’s the normal finish but if you want to dull the shine a little bit get the angelus duller and only put 10% into to a cup with the finish and you’ll all set to go

I used the matte on my aj1 project and it's much shinier than the rest of the shoe. Pretty much ruined the project.

@@AngelusBrand I ended up painting over the matte to return the area back to where it should be. As for the matte, I made sure to shake it and even pry up the matte material from the bottom of the bottle using the hard tip of the paint brush so I know I didn't miss that step.
