You are the only person that has made mention of the difference in the new design and old design hub.
I haven’t been able to find an auto parts or a dealership locally that had and idea why one was sealed (2wd) and one was open (4wd)
Thanks for showing that because I’m sure there’s a lot of “2wd” owners that are very confused on wether or not they’re buying the right part.

Thought the same thing but I started to do some research and they still sell the sealed one. Honestly id prefer the sealed hub, less likely to get dirt in the bearing

I really appreciate the GM dually videos. We're working on a bus conversion, express 3500 chassis, and these have been great for our dually set-up. Thanks for doing them.

You solved my dually hub removal issue. Stuck until you made it clear. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for your video I wasn’t sure if the hub I got would fit or was correct due to it being a 2wd drive and the new hub bearing having the axle hole after reviewing your video I felt more comfortable putting this wheel hub assembly on my 2wd duly

Thank you for posting the part number. I looked it up on amazon and it is branded as an ACDelco but one reviewer said that it had Timken on it. Timken is the best bearings and for $159 that is a deal. I have a 2006 Duramax that will more than likely need one of these or both in the next year. I have replaced them before on a 2008 LMM Dirtymax.

Yea, I saw the review with the Timken. Didn't see it on my hub assembly. Just ordered it due to being the OE part.

You guys must have some bad roads out there? I thought California had some screwed up freeways but it’s amazing that four bolts hold up that whole side of the car

Thank your video, it answered my question on if the new 4wd hubs can be used on a RWD truck. Apparently every person on every forum I look at is a complete idiot. As typical on most truck forums… oh well one can only hope one day Chevy forums will be as helpful as bmw/Toyota forums.

Bolt-in hub bearings are the best. No anti-seize? I'm a freak about using it lol

@@MrSubaru1387 you know I will be using it when I go to put the new rears in the outback lol. Of course we get a little more salt in the winter up here in NC. Nothing like up north but still enough to make stuff rust

@@MrSubaru1387 ah that's right, I keep forgetting you're down there. In your ball joint video it blew my mind how easily you replaced them. One of my ball joints had to be drilled out of the spindle when I had them replaced a couple years ago... I feel bad for the guy that did the job lol

    I have a 97 Chevy 3500 dually.
Can I simply remove that outter extender on the front so I can use regular rims on it?
Fyi back axle was replaced with a non dually. Would like to make it so I have regular rims all around.

it shouldnt be a big issue to install the whole assembly one way or another right? I messed up and put the ABS wire closer to the front of the truck when it should have been spun around to the rear of the truck instead. hoping not to have to take it off again lol.

This is the only hub assembly GM makes now. They no longer make two variations for 4WD/2WD.

There's no difference between the 2WD & 4WD hubs now. They discontinued the 2WD/solid hub. They only offer this hub, for all models now.
