Thanks for display. I have been using this method and powder coating since 2003. Great jigs.

For anyone looking to try this, it works great. Instead of using pliers for the final smash, I used a table vice with 2 flat sides. Using this gave me more control over how much pressure to put on the jig. I noticed that using pliers made them slightly slanted, which probably doesn't matter but the table vice gave it a uniform flat surface.

Yes awesome tip. I've done that a lot to make jigs. I use parallel jaws pliers for that. They were marketed by Shakespeare for fishing, but they're handy for other jobs too. Rubbercore sinkers in lighter weights are good for making weighted streamers on long shank hooks.

That's a cool way to do it. I've always poured my lead jig hooks.

They also make lead and tungsten beads specifically for going on these types of hooks. Even beads that turn non jig hooks into hooks that ride point up.

Since the bend is not 90 degrees will your jigs be maintain a horizontal position? Your work is outstanding!

This is great! I tie flies already but lately it’s been pretty rough getting material! There is virtually no thread and specific hooks/beads are hard to find. I’ve been hitting the craft/sewing stores!
The split shot head is great! I ordered some powder paint from your link as well.
    Keep up the great content!

Yeah, I've pretty much gone to thread from Wally World or fabric stores. I lose my jigs B4 the thread rots! LOL.

I'm giving this a shot, but I just can't get the weight to stay on.. it always falls off. I'll keep trying. I have 100 hooks and 100 weights!

It works better with a thick wire hook.

@@MustacheJigs I just made about 5, using 3/0 and #7 weights.. there's a little getting used to, but it seems to be working! I do plan on a drop super glu just to make sure they stay connected..

I haven’t had any issues with it. The paint chips on rocks and that’s about it.

Not to concerned with the paint that’s a giving with any jig… I was more wondering if the weight ever works it’s self off or something of that nature… thanks I’ll definitely be giving this a try!

I’m having a hard time finding collarless jig heads for sale in bulk. I’ve browsed Amazon, eBay, Walmart…. Random google search… where do you recommend a cheap way to buy 50-100pc packs of jigheads? (1/16 and 1/32 are the sizes I’m looking for)

I get mine from a guy named David Wayne Grimmett Sr. on Facebook. $12 for 100.
