    this was really helpful for me. I'm not at all used to fishing plastics. I'm old trout guy and surf fishing. Only used curly tail grubs on the surf. Just never had a liking for bass or other freshwater species where the plastics seemed limited to...back then we really weren't very adventurous in using 'other furren' lures for our favs.
    Your video here helped me get a much better sense of working these and just how versatile fun they are. And the weighted hooks look really appealing to how I'm needing to fish where I live now...at least 2hrs from saltwater.

    Justin, great video. I usually fish paddle tail gig heads. Will be fishing with weighted hooks and shrimps also. 👍

    On the weighted hooks, you can usually move the weight along the hook shaft and help flatten out the fall some, especially with paddle tails.

    Thanks Justin for another excellent lure video! Very helpful seeing these lures underwater rigged differently. I wonder if the new Power Prawn USA acts the same as this Brazilian original version. This is one of the most educational lure videos I’ve seen in a while.

    Great video, as a bass angler always wondered the value of a jig head over a pegged bullet weight. That would give me so many weight and hook options let alone the option of rigging weedless. Any thoughts

    The 3” minnowz and the diesel minnowz can act similar to the power prawn on a jig head as well.
    You just need to select the lightest weight jig head you are comfortable with for the environment you’re in and keep tension on the line.
    This will cause the z man to descend at a 45 degree angle and slow the fall down considerably. Its deadly on trout and red fish

    Hey I recently came across a new jig "head". It's the hover rig & it's exploding in the bass fishing community. I was wondering if you guys would give it a go & see how it does in saltwater. Might work with shrimp jig bodies.

    A jig head that stands up under water is the best Jug head. It does matter what plastic you put on it. It creates Less snags, it sinks faster, better hook sets. When your fishing in current, you need a jig head that stands up on the bottom. Most snook and redfish feed on the bottom. Again, the plastics don’t matter. All about the perfect jig head that keeps plastic horizontal, up and down

    This test would be better in a pool, with the baits passing the camera like they're actually fished. Jigging them up and down doesn't have the same presentation as cast far away and worked back. This was helpful but could be better.

    Is Jighead a fake fish?

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. It's just the hook that you use for the soft plastic. It usually has an 'eye' so it looks more like a fish.
