This was a great tutorial. It helped me add a zipper to my husband’s pullover hoodie. Now I’m going to dig out the other hoodie I put in timeout because the neck hole was just a little too small. Thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have a pattern but I always think its a good idea to see what to expect. Pattern instructions often assume knowledge. So thanks again. Love the explanations
This is the best tutorial for this type of sweater, I've made 3 fluffy fleece sweaters with this! I'm finally going back with a 4th in a flannel fabric, I'm so excited! 💖
I just started Simplicity S9328 knit dress, with 1/4 zip, today. Although I'm an experienced sewer I knew immediately the zip would be fiddley. Your video was just what I need. Thanks!!
THANK YOU!!, BEAUTIFUL LADY, for this GREAT tutorial. You are an EXCELLENT instructor. You have given this relatively new, male sewist the confidence to believe I can make this 1/4 zip sweater.😊😊
This is so good! I have a wonderful fitting but old and dirty hoodie that I now can copy and since I'm breastfeeding I will let the zipper go a but further. Thank you!
Hey thanks so much for this! I started making one by hand last year (didn't have a machine at the time) just by approximations and gave up after the body and arm so now I can go back and finish it! I do have a question though... What paper are you using to create your stencils?
Pleasure! Hope yours turns out well. I have an old stash of patten making paper since I used to work in the industry, but now I've run out and I just use butchers paper or whatever rolls of brown paper I can find easily 🤗
It depends on how wide the fabric you are purchasing is and what size you are planning to sew. I recommend watching the instructions and use your existing garment as a template to estimate how much fabric you will require.
I would say it's not beginner friendly unfortunately! For beginners I would recommend a jumper with no zips no buttons no fastenings, so that you can learn how to sew the fabric first!

I've made 5 of these already!! Thank you so so much for the video. You're brilliant!

Amazing! You’re so clever. I want to online shop at spotlight and make this in lock down 😂 thank you 💗💗
Haha do it! I need to make another one because I gifted this one to my friend! 🥰
So helpful! Thank you 🙏🏼
girl! you need more subscribers, these videos are super useful. Could you do a Breckenridge henley ? Would love to make one
Aw thank you! I had to look up what a Breckenrisge Henley is 😬 but it looks like a style I would wear so I will have to give it a cracking soon! ❤

hi!! love the tutorial. how do you call the fabric you are using and where do you buy it?
thanks!
Thanks! I'm using French Terry fabric. If you look that up you should be able to find many stockists depends on where you live!
Is there a way to make the 1/4 zipped sweater into a full zipped sweater ?
There is! It would be easier to do a full zip than a 1/4 zip, if you watch a video on how to sew a full zip it'll help you 👌
Can you please let me know what stitch you use for top stitching, is it a regular straight stitch or special stretch stitch
I used a regular straight stitch for this top stitching because I only top stitched areas that didn't require a lot of stretch 😊
what are the green markings on the front armhole and front and back neck? And were they included when you traced the final pattern piece?
The green highlighter markings are my 1cm seam allowances 😊 Remember to add seam allowances to all final pattern pieces!
How much fabric did you use for your sweater?
I can't remember exactly but I think it was just on 1 metre!
how much of fabric we need?
It depends on how wide the fabric you are purchasing is and what size you are planning to sew. I recommend watching the instructions and use your existing garment as a template to estimate how much fabric you will require.
Where did you buy your fabric?!
I purchased this cotton terry from Draper's Fabrics in their Melbourne store. They do have an online store too!
How much fabric do I need for that?
It depends on the width of the fabric and the size of the jumper being made, but roughly 2yards should be an estimation only!
Hello! I am not sure on how to draw the back facing piece, could you please help me? :)
Sure thing, DM me on instagram @slewliving and I'll try to help!
Finishing the collar was too fast for me. I wasn’t clear on it.
Sorry about that! I will note down to do another video that might be more clear in future.
Would u say this is beginner friendly? I’ve never sewn a top😅
I would say it's not beginner friendly unfortunately! For beginners I would recommend a jumper with no zips no buttons no fastenings, so that you can learn how to sew the fabric first!
