And if this takes place before the anime that will explain why his gauntlet would turn people into demons of somebody where is it too long. Even though I've seen only the first episode but it does explain if this takes place before the anime
@ all I can think about is how the door is now open to revitalize what’s likely the largest collection of unused, dormant IP this side of Nintendo so we could see a new power stone, we could see a new rival schools, we could see Viewtiful Joe and god hand and strider and cyberbots and Dino crisis and mega man x we could see Darkstalkers, man
Considering the 2nd fighting collection is out next year with both Power Stone games, CvS2 and Project Justice. It’s safe to say they are definitely gauging interest for continuations in those franchises. Power Stone 3 would break the whole Hype Labs crew. We love Power Stone! -Sam
I also have another theory the guy that they show off could be the guy from the anime. Or if anybody remembers the third game samanosuke absorb his past self and had two gauntlet. He could have lost one and the monks found one of them and that could be the one we see in the anime. Of course this is one of my theories. It really is the greatest time to be a Capcom fan right now. Them bringing back all their old IPs like Onimusha is such a big hit! Co-Op would be dope for it. Plus Okami coming back is really sealing the deal! Been having a blast replaying lately on stream. -Sam
Hopefully they don't Dark Souls up Onimusha. I like Dark Souls, but I don't need every single game with a hack and slash combat system to play like Souls. And that's something more game developers need to understand - Dark Souls is just its own standalone game design it doesn't need to be look at as THE 'definitive' game design that every action game needs to play as. Variety, spice of life, and all that after all. And there's plenty of great hack and slash games, past and present, that don't play like it. So hopefully they keep any of that influence out. Onimusha just had a very distinct thing going with its combat that made it so fun.
I highly agree! I’ve noticed that design choice in a few AAA action games myself. There are only a hand few true Action games that come out (DMC, Hi-Fi Rush, Bayonetta) compared to the many that try to either emulate the souls-like formula or just do something completely different with its combat that feels alien to fans. The new God of War games being my example of that. But I do agree, I hope with this new Onimusha being locked behind a Third-Person angle it looks like, it doesn’t take away its identity. I look forward to it doing something different to keep it fresh while keeping what made it fun! -Sam
Does it count as "calling it" when the Okami theme is playing and it shows Amaterasu? That's like seeing Ganondorf getting stabbed by a Master Sword and calling that it's a Zelda game.
