- You should never expect a table saw rebuild to go without a hitch. In this episode of the restoration, the behemoth motor decides to give out. Looks as though the motor needs a rebuild as well as the saw. Get a firsthand look at the motor's guts and once fixed, watch the table saw make a rip cut.
What a great video series. I was tuning up my saw with the top on. Looking at it upside down was a little confusing with the motor in my face. Your video helped a lot. Thanks for the help.
Awsome vid. I watched all of them . Just bought a unisaw today . I've seen several good tips that I'm sure will come in handy
great series of videos. about to purchase an load unisaw (no, not nearly as old as yours) and wanted to see what the insides looked like. thank you! they are sure built well.
well done, sir ;)
Great info...I to have an old unisaw....do you know where a person can get a splitter?
i have one of these! need change from 240 to 115 to power?
Steve, by covering the motor will it have a tendency to overheat or shorten the life of the motor? Thanks, Bill.
Necropost, but it may help others with the same question later.
The motor will not over heat from installing a cover, the original saw came with a cover called a "Goose Egg" because of it's shape. A cover will also help with dust collection vacuum efficiency.
Steve, I bought thr delta Unitas in 2010. As of today while trying to adjust the blade to 0 degrees and 45 degrees I have had no luck. The machine is free of dust and freshly greased. I followed the instructions from my manual (pg 19) and it will not allow the blade to set in either 0 or 45 degrees. Helpful hints would be appreciated.

I watched to learn new things...but most things I wanted was passed over..like how the bearings go on..cleaning the motor what to watch out for ...good job but be a little more specific ..thanks...
Chuck Cirelli the bearings are press fit onto the motor shaft. To remove the bearings you will need a bearing splitter or a gear puller to remove.
