Brilliant. That was my car! I’m the guy you bought it from on eBay! I’m not the original owner or builder - I bought it from a school friend in about 1990. I used it for a few years then yes - it sat in the loft until you bought it. Great to see what you’ve done with it. I found this video by accident - while browsing your channel as I think about getting an RC car to build up. Thanks for making me smile watching this!
Hi Clive, lol that's so cool. Yep, I still have it and it was the first rebuild on the channel. Videos have come on a bit since then but I still have the car and it's just like it was when finished.
Hi Donovan, Go on, the Boomerang is an epic kit and working on it takes you way back. After rebuilding it I was surprised at just how good the car is still today. Thanks for commenting and I hope to see some rebuild pictures from you soon. Gavin. RCKicks.com

Giving me Flashbacks. I forgot that we had this in our household, I think it was my brothers but got handed down to me. I 4wd was a bit advanced for 10 year old me. Makes me want to find one and restore it too. Great stuff!
Just got a Vintage Boomerang on Ebay. Wish me luck. Going to try to do a box art rere. Looks like the body was painted with white out 😱. Really enjoying the channel. Best of luck on your future builds.
zachary dalton It’s a great car to start a restoration project on. ReRe parts make me less expensive and easy to find. It’s a lovely car to build as well so you will have loads of fun. Enjoy 👍🏻
Hi Gav. I was wondering if you would consider doing a side by side review of the classic Tamiya 4wd buggies. Perhaps Boomerang vs Manta Ray vs Bigwig, etc. Would love to see your take on aesthetics vs technical features.
Hello ! thanks for this video I really enjoyed. I also have an original 1987 Boomerang I already partially restored (almost every thing but body shell, chassis are gear boxes). Now after a RC signal loose on a shore and a short bath in the sea :-( I have to update a few parts once more, including bearings and motor it's ongoing. I would also restore the body, but I can't find any new one nor stickers for the moment. Have you tips to remove stickers so I can remove old paint + repaint and put them back ? Thanks a lot !

Turned out great! Makes me want to dig mine out of storage and get busy :)

Sounds like a great idea Reza. I only have a Boomerang and HotShot currently. I will add a Bigwig at some point this summer but sure :)
Back to the future style
