I believe the chassis cover came originally in the super Sabre and came in the boomerang for the 2008 rerelease. Hopefully Tamiya will finally rere the Super Sabre
Just orderd a boomerang today, I plan on dropping in a hobbywing max 10 system in it. They are the best performing buggy out of the 'shot' series and the best looking imo. I think you'll like yours Andy.
Good video I watched your video on the FTX Landrover with working winch and after watching that I bought one and it’s great. Thanks for your advice and keep up the good work
Cheers :) hopefully not a cop out but like o said in the video as soon as I knew it’s was going to be released I thought it will be nice to match it with my Egress ;)
I am waiting for mine to arrive! I am looking forward to building it as well! I am interested in seeing what yours is going to look like in the different colors! I am sure it will look awesome! I also was not planning on getting another one but with the announcement of the Super Sabre I will be getting that one as well! I like the looks of both of the but the more aggressive look of the Super Sabre I like a little more! You sure got your hands full over there Andy! Kits to build and the little dude at home I am sure you all are super busy! LOL!
Ah, the Tamiya Boomerang, my first proper RC kit, got it in late 1987 from Hamley's in London, I think the deal cost me £165 or thereabouts. I'd love another Boomerang, but sadly I'm currently unemployed. Loved seeing the kit again though mate!!
Cheers Barry :) it’s a cool buggy isn’t it although I’m not a big fan of the box art personally, it would be great if it was £165 these days , but that would have been really expensive in 87 :)
The original Boomerang was my second ever RC car so you would think I would have nostalgic feelings about it, but somehow I just don't think of it as one of the classic Tamiya cars. I guess it is a little to do with the styling - I much prefer the scale realistic buggies and trucks. Also, it was partly to do with the performance. My first RC car was a Holiday Buggy, which although under-powered, was 2WD and therefore you could have fun with the handling. The 4WD Boomerang was faster but you couldn't spin it like the 2WD buggies. It also couldn't really jump very well despite being quicker. I still have my original Boomerang but I struggle to see the appeal for new buyers.
Will be a nice build Andy. I remember buying one a few years back when local stores couldn’t sell them and I picked one up for under $200 AUD. Still haven’t built it!
Cheers Adam , one to build them ;) I’m looking forward to the super sabre when that gets released , love the body on it. You got your Boomerang at a great price when you bought it :)
@@andyrobinsonrc2480 aha super cool 😎 I can’t wait to see your end result making it in the same livery as your egress black. I think it will be stunning. I really like that idea 😊👍
I got a Boomerang in 1988, and I don't remember it having that chassis cover. I think that's from the Super Sabre.
It very well maybe, looks like you get it in the re re now as well. Cheers for that :)

Definitely one of those classics from back in the day, I have the Super Saber on order but I may still buy a Boomerang to go along with it.

Great job Andy. Love the Boomerang. Need to get mine done at some point. Enjoy the build.
Cheers Keith you definitely need to build it, Im looking forward to the build as I’ve just never built one yet ;) take care

I have an original boomerang and run it with the firebolt 15t motor. It goes really well, love it. One of Tamiya's best cars imo
Nice kit Andy! Looking forward to the build!👍😊
Cheers Jeremy thanks, me to can’t wait to see it next to my egress ;)
My favorite tamiya kit . Looking forward to seeing your take on it Andy 😎👌

I’ve always liked the look of the Boomerang. Might be tempted to get one this time they’re out. I look forward to seeing it built and running Andy.
Definitely on my list this one . Look forward to seeing this one mate 😊👍
It’s a cool buggy it’s not my favourite, it’s very cool and I’m glad Tamiya gave us another bite of the cherry with this one , cheers Dom
I've never been into the Hot Shot family of cars. But they do look interesting, now.
Must admit it’s not my favourite of the Tamiya chassis but I did quite like the hotshot after building it. It will be cool to build though

@@andyrobinsonrc2480 yes! I have a lovely original Super Sabre and I’m excited to get a re re and take it for a drive
I started with a Hornet then Boomerang then RC10 :)
Look forward to seeing this all done, i was tempted by this kit, but the terra scorcher took its place 😂
That’s fair enough ;) yeah I can’t wait to see it done, problem is I’ve done my arm in that I use for screwing ;) 😂 will be done soon ish
@@andyrobinsonrc2480 oh dear, hope its better soon.
Did you say the super saber coming back out?
Yep indeedy super sabre is coming back
Out
when was the original released? When I see the Tamiya Boomerang I immediately think of the Kyosho Rocky from 1987 their first mid motor 4wd buggy. :)
Hiya Jonas the original boomerang was released in 1987 as well. I can see what you mean with the Rocky comparison ;)

What do you do with the parts aren't going to use?
I usually save them in the box and if people need something I try donate it to them
When did this come back out.
About a week now in the UK
What are the major differences from this kit and a hotshot 2?
Hi Joe , biggest differences are the chassis tub, body shell and plastic colours Etc.
Will you get a Super sabre also?
Probably as I prefer the super sabre ;)
