Steve, your doing a great job with these book reviews! They are of a great service to our patients and to us practitioners who are helping our patients with insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome by address root causes of inflammation. Here are some other books to review: Beat the Heart Attack Gene by Bradley Bale, MD, The Immunity Code by Joel Greene, The Plant Paradox by Gundry, MD., Brain Maker by David Perlmutter.

There is one thing no Dr have talked about, everyone says strict Keto and IF. So if you have PCOS you should never ever have a piece of bread or pasta? Otherwise it ruins everything you did before? Please tell us if you know!

PCOS is a problem that's very often rooted in insulin resistance. Two of the most effective tools to reduce insulin resistance are ketogenic diet (which is eating less than 50 grams of carbs per day) and intermittent fasting. One slice of pizza has (roughly) 36 grams of carbs - that's 72% of the carbs recommended for an entire DAY. 1 Slice of bread has around 15 grams. So while "never" may be a strong word . . . eating anything with lots of carbs (pizza, bread, cake, cookies, juice, etc.) is unlikely to be helpful for insulin resistance or PCOS. Thank you for this video. I know PCOS often has IR as a root cause; however, my question has to do with the use of low-carb diets. Saturated fats have been shown to interfere with the function of the insulin receptor. Pubmed has articles discussing this. So, wouldn't a diet that is low-carb mean that your diet is then high in fats (particularly if keto)? And those fats interfere with insulin function?
