Although I was looking forward to a re-telling of the time Link fainted into his father in law's arms, I really enjoyed this episode. I, too, feel bolstered for my next embarrassing holiday event!
My drinking two cents: My dad let my friends and I drink in his basement. He knew that we were going to drink anyway so he wanted us to be at home so he could keep an eye on us. He even made sure to take our keys so we couldn't drive anywhere.
I knew so many people in college with super strict parents and the kids ended up going absolutely insane with the booze once away from home. Binge drinking, drinking and driving, alcohol poisoning, so many middle of the night hospital trips and combing the streets looking for people who had run off drunkenly from parties and passed out in fields and so on. I haven’t thought about this in years, but it was absolutely terrifying in retrospect. Those of us who had at least one friend’s parent in our social circle who let us experiment with alcohol under their supervision before the college years seemed to fare better because it wasn’t this huge thing that had been totally verboten so 1) we had a better idea of our limits, 2) it wasn’t so mysterious that we felt we had to get it all in at once like each party might be our last or something and 3) didn’t feel the need to go crazy as some form of conscious or unconscious rebelling against strict constraints imposed upon us. I know that is totally anecdotal and there is no easy answer to any of this, but it’s something that I feel like should be addressed with at least better education about it, in a way teens/young adults and parents will actually take in. I say that because it’s not like there WASN’T education via PSAs, very special episodes of tv shows, lectures etc etc but clearly it wasn’t reaching everyone or done in a way people took on board.

Turns out it was Neptune's Net, and she thought that was so funny because Neptune's is definitely not fancy but a fun little shack/dive on the side of the road back then (still not fancy today and in fact just barely refined over the years which adds to its charm). Anyways, I have countless fond memories of countless people sitting on countless benches at Neptune's Net....and then walking across the road to wander through the tide pools. Pure California Magic....and I didn't even get started on the motorcycle brigades filling up the front parking lot. I love that Link would put on clothes as soon as he got them for gifts. A new friend of mine recently gave me some fun Halloween themed sweatpants and I immediately put them on over the adult lounge onesie I was already wearing. It wasn't weird that I was wearing an adult onesie because we live together so we were at home. Lol
Here’s my embarrassing holiday story ... when I was in my 3rd year at university (21 years old) my boyfriend asked me to go to a Christmas Eve part that a relative on his stepdads side was having. The whole time the host kept begging me to go down stairs to play nerf with her 7 and 10year old kids. I kept saying no. Eventually her 15 year old daughter came home and she said oh thank god- now you can go downstairs and then the adults can be up here and we can all have fun with people our own age...
Me personally, I always liked that aunt who would call you out on dying your hair or whatever without thinking anything of it because you know that she's always going to give you her honest thoughts on whatever it is that she is thinking about ... sometimes she could put her thoughts out there in a more polite way , but she isn't going to try to sell you a load of feel good crap ...

Hearing Link talked about "My first errand" makes me so happy for some reason. =]]]
Every year on the eve of Christmas Eve my cousins and siblings all get together for “Litmas” where we just drink and have a great time.
I'm very accidental so I'm constantly embarrassing myself
“I’m okay, I’m okay. I’m actually dying” 😂😂😂😂
The Lima is a superior bean
These episodes bring such joy!! Keep it up Rhett and Link!!
Yeahhh they would be flabbergasted at any of my family gatherings. All of my cousins are that person that says, "I'm staying here tonight, I'm getting wasted "
Love you guys ❤
Actually, Catholics light the advent candles at the beginning of mass. Lighting a new one every week of advent.
@58:29 The Catholic church definitely does not leave the advent candles burning all week. 🤣🤣 Actually, my church has five Masses each weekend and the candles are relit for each Mass to be special to those attending that Mass.
The only lasting impression I got from this episode was "a butt'd banana hammock"
Link: "Anything you know someone is watching you to get a sense of validation... just incorporate a long and thoughtful sniff."
I absolutely LOVE listening to Ear Biscuits while driving
The best therapy 💕🥰
I had to break, see the GMMore again and come back 🤣🤣🤣
My mum allowed me to drink in the home with her and some friends when I was 14 onwards. I’m 25 now and do not drink, and never went through a binge drinking phase like everyone else I knew who were sneaking out to parties 🤷🏼♀️
Anyone else an old school mythical beast who gets overly excited to meet others in the wild but they aren't because they're much younger and it is just a given that others know AND love this franchise? 🥲
Lol
Love you, boys.
Good morning everyone. If you are reading this I wish you have a great day and God bless you and your family. Stay safe.
I am grateful for your comment. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family as well. 🙏🖤
@@leannamarie1318 thank you🙏🏼
@@DJNiellyQMusicSetList you're beyond welcome 🖤
Hearing link say Tokyo without hearing Rhett scream after made me uncomfortable
Good morning fellow beasts 😁☕️
Here’s my embarrassing holiday story ...
when I was in my 3rd year at university (21 years old) my boyfriend asked me to go to a Christmas Eve part that a relative on his stepdads side was having. The whole time the host kept begging me to go down stairs to play nerf with her 7 and 10year old kids. I kept saying no. Eventually her 15 year old daughter came home and she said oh thank god- now you can go downstairs and then the adults can be up here and we can all have fun with people our own age...
So did they think you were under 15? Lol
@@Strawberry95shortie no I told her I was in university. Idk what her problem was, very awkward situation lol.
Good morning!!
You get some green sweats
I get some red sweats
Then we switch em up
We got Christmas sweats
Me personally, I always liked that aunt who would call you out on dying your hair or whatever without thinking anything of it because you know that she's always going to give you her honest thoughts on whatever it is that she is thinking about ... sometimes she could put her thoughts out there in a more polite way , but she isn't going to try to sell you a load of feel good crap ...
in my experience, ive never seen an electric menorah.
Damn. Thanks Rhett
Edit: 37:05 for about thirty seconds. Pure gold
Link says Tokyo: Rhett doesn't react.
Link says Tokyo: I say "WHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
