- India will do away with toll booths and implement complete GPS-based toll collection within one year, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said. He said 93 per cent of the vehicles pay toll using FASTag, but the remaining 7 per cent have still not taken it despite paying a double toll.

Mr. Gadkari, use GNSS technology to identify pot holes on roads, and repair it on priority. 2nd thing we already paid road tax while car purchase. So stop this loot.

What happens when vehicle passes through Service road beside the highway? Then anyway the system is going to cut the amount as gps system is not accurate. So we don't need of this.
This system loot maximum to indian highway users.. And collect maximum tax not only toll charges it may collect entair tax... Say if a person going to Mangalore. Let them collect all toll charges but it may take full road using charges is it not.. It means say no of tools are 10 it may charge 30
To reduce pollution, irresponsible use of vehicle and burn petrol, to teach accidents; use combination of tag and GPS.
DO NOT CHARGE ANY ROAD TAX while purchasing vehicle. Use IOT, connected vehicular movement track system.
Every time a vehicle moves outside of 1km radius of home Coordinates, start calculating the kms travelled. Charge on usage bata.

Instead of GPS based the best solution is to keep these RFID counters at every entry and exit of highway, same fastag can be used to record entry and exit based on dat data a software can calculate the distance of highway used and charge based in that.....anyway all highways have side barricades now.... So no one will enter from other side is someone enters he has to leave Also from the sides only if he uses a gated exit point you can punish him.....and at each entry n exit point u can keep one staff to look after if the device is working or not or inspect evey vehicle passing has fastag or not...in that way the present toll booth people will not be left unemployed too..... 24 hrs highway patrol are already there they can conduct daily inspection to look if anyone has broken a barricade. This way it is advantageous for all... Try making a video on this.....GPS is a threat to privacy. If someone hacks the system they can track your every movement even outside highway.
