    I bought a blue smp300 when it first released at the end of 2018. Since then I’ve also acquired a black bay 58, a datejust 41 on jubilee, and a 41mm submariner. I still find myself wearing the smp300 the most, especially after putting it on an Aqua terra rubber strap. The details on the dial are just phenomenal. Incredible watch and the best in my collection IMO.

    I didn’t know that I wanted this watch until I had it in my hands. I thought I hated the skeleton hands, ended up loving them. I thought I hated the bracelet, actually love it. I wear it tighter like you said. There is definitely something special about this watch and I’m really interested to see how it holds up over time.

    • @fendushi
      @fendushi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've heard so many comments that the bracelet is uncomfortable for all day wear and also the edges are sharp. How do you find it?

    • @michaelmarkey9302
      @michaelmarkey9302 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fendushi I wear it fairly snug and have had no issue with sharp edges. I think it’s very comfortable for all day wear. I think the fact that the bracelet doesn’t taper throws some people off. But for me that issue is only aesthetic bc I don’t find it affects the way the watch wears. It’s a fairly thick 42 mm watch so some may find it beefy but for me it’s great. The clasp is great too. Large but very well made.

      I have this watch and have found the bracelet to be extremely comfortable. The clasp actually balances the weight of the watch quite will. My Rolex bracelets, while tapered, are only comfortable because the watch itself is lighter. I may buy a silicone Omega strap for the summer but, the bracelet is so beautiful that I hate the idea of swapping it out for a strap.

    Hi Adrian, i'am glad you mentioned the non tapering of the braclet, most reviewers don't mention this, I've always thought a braclet looks more elegant, and more comfortable at the clasp end being narrower due to this, It would be nice to see Omega do this in the future.

  • @markusvlasits3937
    @markusvlasits3937 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm aware that I am pretty late to comment but just wanted to make two points here -
    1) this is an awesome video. The content is great as always, but what makes this video stand out is fact that the 'scenery', i.e. the color of the table, of the wall, even Adrian's outfit, and the font of the description perfectly match the design and color palette of this watch. Pretty subtle, but very well done. Kudos!
    2) I believe this iteration of the Seamaster is sufficiently compelling to pull me over. Normally, I abhor decorative designs, details that are not functional, and fancy styling without functional background. But there is something about this watch that seems to make it sober and exuberant at the same time ... whoever designed this - great job!

    I had this watch with the black dial and yellow gold accents, absolutely loved it. The only reason I sold it was to purchase a speedmaster racing. It has the Metas certified 9900 movement which is very similar but with a chronograph. Omega's master chronometer movements are I think some of the best in the industry. And everytime I look at maybe getting a rolex, or Panerai, or even another Omega... I look at this watch and think that I probably wont get anything better for a very long time. I take this thing mountain biking, wear it all day, to the gym, you name it. I just don't swim with it but I could if I were so inclined. Great video of your white dialed version!

      I’ve got an Omega Seamaster from 2001. Just realised its now two decades old. Man, how time flies by. Never wear it these days but it’s still a decent watch. The technology in that time has gone in an insane upwards trajectory. I wonder where it’ll all be in 20 years time? Or will the reign of the mechanical luxury watch be a thing of the past?

    I own this exact watch, and have been wearing it everyday since I got it. I also hate the bracelet, so replaced it with a rubber strap. I also don't like how noisy the movement is-- the rotor is unbelievably loud. Other than these two gripes, this is an absolutely phenomenal watch.

      @@StayOnIt the clasp alone is so nicely engineered that I wanted to keep it on the metal bracelet. But 182 grams was getting a little too much for daily wear-- had to make it lighter.

    Great video as always. Nice to see a Rolex owner being nice about an omega. The SMP is a belter. I’m seriously considering another one in a different colour. By the way, there’s a bit of an art to fitting the bracelet. Hard to explain in text but it needs to be fitted with the clasp 2 notches off small. My AD sized mine on small but in warm weather the clasp moved too far on the wrist. Took a while to get it just right but now it’s bang on for both warm and cold weather.

    I bought this with the blue dial just 4 days ago (12-17-2022). Bought it at an Omega boutique for $5400 (with tax $5845). It VERY difficult to see the "ZrO2" on the blue dial, although it looks easily visible on the white dial at @1:24. I needed a really bright light and a magnifying glass before I could see the ZrO2 on my blue dial. Actually it's hard to see on the white dial too as you can see @6:58. You can't tell by watching videos of this watch; The watch just sparkles when held in the light. It is so finely polished it just sparkles. I'm sure that will wear over time and not sparkle like it does new. A pretty watch. A great first buy luxury watch.

      I was buying a new seamaster 300 yesterday but before buying it i called around to see if omega holds its value, i was told straight out by a few different pawn shops and high end jewelry stores they wont even take omega in for a loan, and would only offer me $1000 on a watch i would have paid over $5k for..... These omega ain’t worth shit after you buy them!!!!

    • @damachine3
      @damachine3 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rickyleroy7795 True to a point, but not entirely true...there is a market for certain Omegas. For example, my Apollo 11 50th Anniversary is worth thousands more than I paid for it and I paid full retail price. Look up the new Snoopy. It's tens of thousands of dollars over retail price. Also, if you get a standard Moonwatch at a good price you will be able to get something out of it. Same with the James Bond.

    Beautiful piece, just love Omega. My dad bought one in 1966 (a Constellation on bracelet, and which he still wears, and quasi as new) when we moved to Paris (when I was only 2), so I just grew up knowing “Omega”. I just spoiled myself again, tomorrow I receive the (my) 43.5mm 300 Ceramic on rubber, no date obviously and cozy up beside my AT 150 41.5mm. Keep the chin up, and keep putting out the quality vids we all in the community enjoy.

    I really disliked the predecessors to this version, but the amount of things updated in this iteration is nothing short of legendary. Omega is crushing it. Given that the new Speedmaster has a tapering bracelet, I hope the next refresh of this Seamaster has one also.
