Am Kenyan but I just loooove how we Africans don't stress about measurements or using fancy kitchen gadgets but our recipes are still top notch and world class healthy foods!!!thanks for this🙏❤️
The small volume of the yoghurt she used is basically called an inoculum & it contains the 2 bacteria present in milk- Streptococcus thermophillus & Lactobacillus bulgaricas, the warm place shez talking about is the incubation Temp for the 2 bacteria to multiply while fermenting the milk into the final yoghurt.
Hello Dr madam thanks very much for the knowledge you have impacted on us. I greatly appreciate it. Please if u want to make the yogurt for commercial purposes, what quantity of water should we use for what quantity of powder milk. Thanks
Thanks for the homemade recipe, as I have been wanting to make my own yoghurt. Very easy and simple steps. Many thanks and much love to you and the family.
That's awesome dear. Please is this procedure the same like the commonly sold yahourt often sold around the market?if yes please what can be added to make it taste real good?
Hello precious, I've made yoghurt twice and it all turned out slimy but thick though, the taste too was perfect. Till now I don't understand why the slime.....🤔 and it scares me to try again.
its slimy because your water was too hot by d tym u added ur greek yogurt as a culture...ensure dat ur water is really warm den it wont be slimy anymore
This gives me all kinds of home vibes (Gabon). My great grand mother and grand mothers are like the best home made yogurt makers, that we call "Lait Caillé", that I know. The consistency comes out some smooth and tangy OMG ! I think it's time they taught me. As soon as I go back home I will make sure I learn as much as possible from them including le lait caillé.
Please, I wish to ask what about the health benefits? Comparing the yogurt you bought from the market and the homemade one are they of the same health benefit level?
Thank you for this recipe 🙏 how do we preserve it please, I noticed it begins to change taste for me from like the second day and it doesn’t for store bought ones
Thanks so much for this recipe. I tried it and it was so delish. I was surprised at how easy and simple it is. I have a worry though. The first badge I made the yoghurt was smooth and slimy but the second was not slimy but thick. Which one is the right one and what could have happened? Thanks
Hi Elizabeth, it's normal for homemade yogurt to be slimy. It looks like the first one didn't set long enough or the environment wasn't warm enough. Sometimes it doesn't set well depending on the timing and the warmth around it. I normally leave it for some more hours when that happens because I prefer my yogurt thick. There is no right or wrong consistency. Just preference. Also note that sometimes storebought yogurt contains fillers (cornstarch, pectin), which makes them thicker. Hope this helps.
I really appreciate you showing us how to make home yogurt. My question 👇 Can I add different flavors like orange, pineapple flavors? And can I use orange juice or pineapple juice instead of using water?
Thanks for this video. Actually I have been using your recipe and for like 3 times I did it it came out well, but recently I am having trouble, when I do it it draws please can you help me out?
The alternative is to get bacteria culture which can be both difficult and stressful to find, so most times you use yoghurt because it already contains the bacteria culture you need
Am Kenyan but I just loooove how we Africans don't stress about measurements or using fancy kitchen gadgets but our recipes are still top notch and world class healthy foods!!!thanks for this🙏❤️

Can use liquid milk 🥛 instead of powder milk
I really appreciate you showing us how to make home yogurt. My question 👇
Can I add different flavors like orange, pineapple flavors? And can I use orange juice or pineapple juice instead of using water?
You can add other flavors AFTER the yogurt has set. I don't think pineapple and orange juice would work. Hope this helps.
