My uncle has a place on lanai, I go there a couple times a year for a few weeks at a time. The deer population is crazy, im pretty sure there’s even more deer there than Joe thinks. If you drive or walk anywhere on that island after 5 pm you’ll see atleast 4-5 deer. A ton of does, that’s why they reproduce so fast, but some pretty good sized bucks too which was surprising. I hunted there once awhile back and we shot one buck. Joes right, those deer are switched on 24/7 they are jumpy and hard to hunt but that makes it worth it. No locals really hunt besides the few employed and paid by the local government to control the pop. Idk why more mainlanders don’t go hunt there it’s a great experience. You usually don’t think of good dear hunting when you think of Hawaii but it’s amazing. And the environment is the best, I had a partial view of the ocean from one of the locations I set up as a blind.

Mainland people don’t need to come especially that island. Other islands like Oahu big island Maui try to respect people on lanai and keep it country there. Plus you gotta have family over there to stay
One of the best arguments for hunting animals such as deer is "its an abundant,, high grade natural resource and I want maintained access to it. Where I live in Nebraska its common to see 5 dead deer on the side of the road in a 10 mile drive during the rut. They have no natural predators other than vehicles.
I’ve owned them all. Shot for several manufacturers. The Hoyt fan thing always made me laugh. They are a great bow for sure. But I’ve shot so many animals with my bows, that I doubt the animal knew what brand of bow they were shot with. I think Obsession is the best bow on the market at this moment. Shoot what works and feels good.
In my state in oregon me and my buddy had discovered a bunch of axis deer roaming a unit and so we called our fish and game and they said they are considered invasive and there is no season or bag limit so ever since then that’s all I’ve been eating! Best meat for sure!

I once froze my butt off and bought a $300 blaze orange jacket for the next year and it might have gotten down to freezing and I sweated my butt off. Now I have a bucket that I sit on and strap to my backpack. I put the jacket in there until I'm all settled down in my hunting spot. A few years ago I bought a heated jacket and just wear a vest over it because it's camo.
