Poor Kevin, it is like he is watching an old friend die😢
While Clint makes jokes
Build what you want and ignore the haters. Some people are negative no matter what you do. What I'm most impressed with is how you are teaching your boys good work ethics and spending quality time with them. Tucker is becoming one heck of a welder and Hunter a good all around mechanic/operator. I enjoy the videos. Kudos to C&C Equipment.
Nice to see Clint taking the time to show his kids how to build a truck with what you got, so many parents today just buy there kids 100,000 dollar vehicles that doesn't teach them how to work and the value of a dollar!!
Great job Clint!!
Really? How many parents do you know that bought there kid a $100,000 vehicle? Most parents can't even afford a $100,000 vehicle for themselves.
Around me the farm kids get $100k pickups and then take them to get totally upgraded!
I guess were giving out to many farm subsidies then.@@TheJimmybud
Thanks 👍
My son had a 1976 Dodge Adventure 100. He bought it with his summer work money for $200.00. We got it up and running and driving for him. Unfortunately he got Diagnosed with Laukemea at 16 and passed away at 19. He definitely loved working on vehicles to. Tx for sharing my friends.
The captain may want the cab for his dump truck build
He should go for it. It would simplify his life.
Your truck. Your sole privilege to choose & make decisions, period.
Teaching them the right way. Standing back and offering advice when needed
I have never seen such a group of guys have more fun on a consistent basis. Keep it going!
Doesn’t matter which engine you put in the truck. The time spent working on it with the boys is priceless. 👍
I used to build Vulcan tow trucks back in the late 80s. We built a Vulcan 860 on a Dodge D100 dually with the Perkins 5.9 in her. Salesman took her up to Collingwood to demo at a service station at the top pf a hill. Hooked a full-size car on and took it down the hill. turned around and took her back up, never had to drop down out of top gear.
Retirement can be a bu**er when its cold and raining outside, but your video's never fail to bring a bright spot to my day.
Love the way you teach your boys. Their education in your workshop is probably far more valuable for their futures than school, although I am not suggesting they should neglect their schooling.
An insider note regarding the Cummins/Ford combo that you are putting together. At the Chrysler-AMC merger in 1987 all truck development and engineering was turned over to the Jeep Engineering team housed in the old AMC HQ building on Plymouth Road on the West side of Detroit close to Dearborn. It became known as the famous JEep &Truck Engineering (JTE for short) Before the merger Cummins had tried to sell their BT6 to Ford who turned them down. Next they had come to Chrysler who had actually built a prototype but had done nothing with it. Then the merger had occurred. We drove the prototype and were convinced that it was just what we needed to breathe some life into the old D-Truck buying time until we could Design an all new Dodge Ram full size pickup. So we put that engine into that old design along with a V10 (which gave us an excuse to develop the Viper as a “Skunk Works” project in the back of the building. Full size Dodge Ram sales took off and after some more great decisions like Grand Cherokee the Jeep Truck management team took over engineering for all of Chrysler. Thank goodness the Ford management team was narrow minded regarding working with Cummins. 35+ years later Cummins remains a great partner with Ram trucks.
What a great way to keep young men engaged and focused while teaching valuable life skills. Clint is an excellent teacher.
With Clint as a dad, who needs mechanic school, thanks guys for a great video and happy birthday to Clint.
I am pretty sure I saw a tear 😢 rolling down Kevin's cheek
Hunter and Tucker stuck together for the questioning 😂
I always like the rest of the story about the good, the bad and the ugly about the various pieces of equipment 👍👍
You gotta love clint and kevin dynamic😅
Hope it all goes back together as easy as it came apart. Clint, you are the Dads of Dads!
I've got a 98 dually Dodge with the 24 valve Cummins. I've locked myself out three times at fuel stops. I kept accidentally bumping the drivers door lock knob and then look in through the window at the keys in the ignition. Once I pulled over after starting out with a trailer load to check straps and found myself looking in through the window at the keys in the ignition and my phone laying on the console. 😢 Thank God for the slider cab rear window. Pried that open with a screwdriver and was able to crawl through. Barely!😮 My belt caught and in order to get the rest of the way through my pants ended up around my ankles. Let's just say that hide a key is now my best friend. Love to see you working with your boys. These are special time my friend!
Little FYI, the old school non electronic Cummings diesel/turbo diesel used a minimax Bosch pump originally developed for the Peugeot. 604 turbodiesel( first ever production turbo diesel car for 1979) the hose from Garrett turbo to top of pump increases/ decreases timing/ fuel quantity based on throttle setting and boost pressure. The single bolt ( metering rod)at back of pump with slot for screw driver and wire is actually a way to override and increase factory set fuel quantity if wire is snipped and threaded metering rod and nut are " played with"
Good to see the younger generation were all happy today too.
I had a 1997 F350 with the 460 , it was the best truck I have ever had. It just rotted... There was NOTHING it would not pull!
Love your OBS content. Motivates me to work on my '94 F-250.
Someday, if not already, your boys will look back at this and enjoy the warmth of those memories and realize how fortunate they are. Respect.
Thank you Clint for raising productive citizens who love this country and actually have values and common sense!!!❤
Clint you look like a proud papa watching the boys working.
Big smile on my face!! Here we go!! Shorty ,,Rip ,,! Coffees on! ;-)!!
Tucker Across America. 48 states in 48 months showing all the fun things to do in each state he passes through towing his camper. Documenting it all on his own TH-cam channel. His sweetie will probably have to be the host.
Sausage Fingers will never be the same his pride and Joy is no more. Poor Kevin
It's always great to see you and your boys working together on a project! The more Ford parts you rip out and replace with others, the better the truck will be! Haha
Great project, this is going to be an awesome truck as always by the C & C crew!
Great video 👍 Kevin is crying his little heart out
and tucker is gonna get a lot of KISSES 😂😂😂
The inline 6 is a favorite in BMW! It is known for low end torque and without a computer, they are easy to work on. It is always good seeing someone moving back to the simple days! I miss the days of no computers and real gas!
How do you make a Ford rite....rip the powerstroke out and put a Cummins in it
covers heart with my hat in respect for shorty
Capt. Kleeman could use Shorty's cab for his farm dump truck.
Don't cry Kevin, there will be another truck soon I guarantee it. You all are awesome thank you for the great videos.
I loved the 7.3 Navistar engines that were in the Fords, very few problems...
RIP Kevin's Shorty truck. (Taps gently playing in the background)😭😭😭
To see what y'all do to Vehicles it's incredible thanks guys
'it's our truck we can do what we want' Amen.
Regards from Scotland.
_Props to the person that hid those extra keys-definately an older person...... I always keep a spare key in my pocket for whatever vehicle I'm in--doesn't take but one time --"OH OHHH"..
Two thumbs up. Great project, great kids, great Dad and of course great Kevin. Thanks for the videos!
Can’t beat that Cummins you will like it
My Dad worked in the plant that built those ZF5 transmissions. That truck will be awesome when its done
that is going to be one sweet ride, can'
t wait to see the finished product.
Interesting background audio to the time lapse. I wouldn’t have thought of that 😊
Poor Kevin can build an SST truck, remember them, with the pull string to pull out to wind it up. If you don’t look it up they were fun back in the day
Can't be an Indiana truck being that rust free !!!
I think it came from Wyoming or Montana...
I was thinking more like Arizona or Cali. !!@@surlyogre1476
Awesome build. If I had the money and the shop that is the exact truck I would build. It is your truck to do what you want with.
All of those keys remind me of my father. He always had spare keys. He carried a ring with keys or his car and truck and a house key. He had another leather key holder with keys for the car, truck, house, shed, toolboxes, Cat, lawnmower, and keys for vehicles that he no longer had. He would also tape keys to the wiring harness as well as having magnetic key holders. When he was in his 80s, he had dementia and got lost driving so I had to take the keys to the only vehicle he had left but he always came up with another set so I had to disable the starter.
That dually is a kickass truck, probably won't need Cosby juice either 😂
The 12 valve is absolutely the right decision for that truck. These engines are 300,000 mile engines all day long. Keep in mind the #6 cylinder being prone to heat scuffing (not sure if that was accounted for on the rebuild). Usually the #6 cylinder is over-bored a couple thousandths to prevent future scuffing of the piston. The no volt run is a no brainer for sure.
Sorry Shorty Truck, you will live on supporting the longest running engine on the road.
Bloody Mary for the win!😂🤙
Does this mean the Shorty Truck is now a Noughty Truck? Nought wheel drive. Love seeing you working with the boys, great learning experience for them
Clint,You should compensate Kevin for using up his Shorty truck by bringing the El Camino into the shop and working some C&C magic on it
What a great build!!!! A lot for you to teach and a great result when done!
It's great to watch to help the kids build trucks like this. A great education and experience. It's also creating car guys.
Kevin you had the perfect opportunity to put a fork in “Bloody Mary”, for taking shorty away from you!!😂 Great build boys!!❤️🤗🇺🇸
Geez Kevin, no more shorty maybe put the Peterbilt bumper on the wall as a memorial?
PS. Have a great 24, cheers from New Zealand
Kevin deserves to have the shorty truck. He has earned it.
LOL! Bloody Mary is becoming a Franken-truck! I'm positive it'll come out fine, but now at 3 trucks in and counting ... 😎
I really miss my old 99 PS diesel....
R.I.P shorty truck. Haha. Nice job guys
we are all sorry for your loss sausage fingers i know shorty truck had a soft spot in your heart
Awesome job getting the engine pulled...cool finding the key stash...after locking myself out of my truck once at the grocery store my friend who was a locksmith came to my rescue and opened the door and cut me a spare and placed it behind the license plate and ran the mounting bolt through it...great fix😁
Kevin-> 😭 RIP Rest in peace shorty ❤
I like the mod you are doing. Always thought that you should be able to order any drive train (Engine, Transmission, Drive Axles) you want on 1 tons and up, like you can with most semi's. Thanks for sharing
I will never be criticizing what you are doing with your trucks I think this will be a super great build
I hope you all know what kind of wonderful memories you are creating for each other!
Adding that four-wheel drive unit up front will help with traction especially in the winter with the right set of tires!
great video as always. It is nice to see your kids learning a trade and working hard.
Hey now, everyone be nice, those powerstroke engines make great anchors/reefs. 😁😁
Poor Kevin's shorty is giving up it's front in...moving into bigger better things😊🇺🇸👨🔧🛠️😎🔧
This build is going to turn out great! cant waint to see the finished product!
That looked to be a very clean engine!!
thank you for this video. You were right when you said many people fast forward past the intro part where Kevin is burning the perfectly good rubber off the front wheels. I certainly do skip that, because I hate to see the rubber worn off good tires because growing up, none of us kids could afford new tires!
I think Clint likes to work on these trucks as much as the boys do! Nothing wrong with that either. Just think of the memories they’re creating! Impressive, very impressive!
I think you’re right… he likes to buy/work on these trucks too just as much if not more. It’s hard for him to turn a obs ford project down 😂😂
Great video. I have fond memories of a great burn out. Your sons are warming up to the camera. It will be a great truck when you're done.
Dad your a good guy !! I don't live with you but your good example......
Happy birthday, Clint. You'll become a grandpa some because babies will be made in the back of that truck
Clinton and crew another grand adventure! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
The ford and Chevy guys can chirp all they want but when dodge put the Cummins in a truck it changed the diesel pickup market. When you see what Brian bloc has done with his 12 valve it’s mighty impressive
Great job so far guys, I bet poor Kevin's heart is down so far it is tripping him up bro. Look forward to the progress videos. Safe travels. Ken.
Happy birthday tomorrow Clint!
That's going to be a nice truck love how you work with your boys
always awesome videos Clint
Can't wait to see the finished truck!
The only thing more expensive than horses would be a drug addiction!!! Run Tucker Run!! Lol
I never comment, however, I completely agree with your game plan.
Never had a Cummins. Had a few 7.3 s and they were strong for construction work. Utility body and tools and equipment they were running just under 16. Heavy trucks. Had a 93 non turbo same utility body same weight couldn’t get out of its own way. Then we got a dirtymax because we did a bunch of work for gmc dealers and we took a truck for trade. Thing was a jack rabbit but it couldn’t hold up and do the work a ford could.
Captain Cleamon needs the old F350 cab. Lol
The Red truck was in excellent condition for sure. Y'all have some cool trucks.
Clint, this is going to be an awesome truck! Take care and I’ll see you down the road…
Old Grandpa type people is the reason y'all have a 1995 model truck in such fantastic condition.
My Dad always told me, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I do agree with you about the electronics, but I had a '99 Ford F250 4X4 with a 7.3 in it (non-turbo), that drug a 35' fifth wheel camper at 70-75 mph up the mountains down in the valley's all over the country with no trouble. Sold it in 2011 with 165000 miles on it. I am also a Ford Man for the past 70 years.
In '99 the 7.3 Powerstroke had a turbo.
That's a nice lift. Nice truck also.
My winch truck has a 94 Chevrolet K-3500 front half and a 94 Ford F-350 rear half. The back half of the Chevy frame was rotted away and the Ford had a welding bed on it but had a bad transmission and a couple of windows missing and the idiot that abandoned it on an oil lease had been messing in the wiring in the dash.
Putting the 2 trucks together was rather easy. The Chevy frame was wide so the Ford frame rolled right in. The exhaust pipes perfectly matched, the front yokes on the driveshaft were swapped, and a simple adaptor took care of the brake line. My wife was under the truck guiding the drive shaft into the Chevy transmission and hollered to stop when the shiny part disappeared. Squared it all up and welded it together using a bunch of right triangle drops I had lying around. It was named Frankentruck. HF 12,000 lb. electric winch, a heavy pipe front bumper, and a big hood scoop made from a wingtip tank that I had to replace.
I love this build!
Hi Clint sorry to see Kevin short truck been taken apart for the four wheel drive sorry Kevin I know u like that truck 🛻
Can't wait to see that finished ❤
Your doing things right. I had an 02 f450 that was the worst truck I ever owned spent over $5k on engine repairs only to come down the hill with a load of gravel have the engine quit, no brakes and ran onto a state highway. Fortunately no traffic. Needless to say I found someone that liked that truck more than me!
I always wondered about that burnout
