I've made this recipe several times now. And my family and I absolutely love it. I've also made it for a few potluck lunches and dinners at my church and place of work. And it was a big hit. Now everyone keeps asking for it. **Cook note*** I couldn't find Chinese sausage. So I used chorizo instead. It worked awesomely!!!
Oh my goodness, I have been looking for this recipe forever and a day lol. I am 60 yrs. old. But when I was a teenager we lived in Russellvill, Arkansas. My Mom worked at a hospital there. A group of Filipino nurses came and worked and learned there before they went back home. My Mom quickly made friends with them and we had many meals together. I loved this dish and wished for years my Mom had gotten the recipe from them before they had to leave. Thank you so much. God Bless You and Your family.
I LOVE PANCIT! I have a Filipino friend who taught me how to cook this....I have found if you use a rotisserie chicken, it gives it a much better flavor! You are not a bad cook.....this is great!
Spent half of Labor day laboring over this dish as I had the pleasure of experiencing for the first time last weekend when a Filipino friend brought to share at pot luck. It was a big hit. I googled Pancit and luckily hit upon your video. I have watched numerous times and have a a large tray to share tomorrow with my Filipino (and other nationalities) co-workers at Kaiser Permanente. I'm 100% Irish but love learning about different cultures and traditions. Maybe they will chance their arm and try some Irish recipes! LOL . Thank you though, great job.
This was great, I tried it for the first time and fell in love with it. I also used the Butler Soy Curls instead of meat, plus a little spice and all my friends loved it. Thank you very much for sharing
Hi there. I have to say thank you so much I wanted to learn how to cook Filipino style for a long time now but unfortunately my father passed away so i had no one able to teach me. Now every time i make this dish for my family from your recipe, it brings back a little bit of him to my mother. By the way it was amazing and fun to make.
Love this dish I have a Filipino sister and law and she cooked this several times Im glad I found the recepy ...Now I know how to cook it... greetings from Tijuana and tahk you for making this so easy.
I'm a filipino and I've never tried cooking pancit bihon lol it looks great and imma try cooking it while watching your video. thank you so much for sharing and for making this video. :)
Glad I found this recipe🤗just like most here one of my Filipino coworkers introduced me to the dish and she quickly got tired of me requesting it weekly. Thank God I’ve found you.
Great video. Very rarely that somebody cooking this pancit recipe on TH-cam speaks genuine articulate English. Almost all are done by Filipinos who speaks Tagalog-English or English mixed with local dialects. I love the video. There were no shortcuts, there were no missing ingredients and everything is shown from start to finish. Thank you very much.
I loved how you gave tips and really talked through the video!!! I'll be making this tonight for dinner and try to impress my hubby! Your daughter is so CUTE!
I just finished preparing this dish using your recipe and I was so amazed at how flavorful it is. First time I tried it was in the Philippines while in the Navy. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
I use those same noodles but I DO NOT soak in hot water! when I did they all clumped together like cooking spaghetti noodles without adding EVOO and not stirring(big clump) and good luck separating them then. I soak mine for 10 min in cold water and they soften up and separate beautifully. drain add the soy veg and chicken
I just finished making my Pancit and it cam out absolutely DELISH... thank you sooo much for the video. I was lazy and purchased a rotisserie chicken and just pulled it apart and it went very well.:)
Omg, you cook pancit like my mother did--same veggies, fresh and healthy and beautiful--so I'm thrilled to find your video! She passed away in 2007, and I never learned how to make pancit, but there's still hope for me! I do have a couple of questions. Did you soak the noodles in 'warm' tap water, or cold? Also, once you transferred the noodles to the pot of boiling water/broth, did you continue cooking it, or did you turn off the heat? And was it only water/broth, or did you put soy sauce in there? And what about using patis in the recipe? And once you finished the noodles, did you put it on your serving tray immediately, or did you add the vegetables to the noddles, first? Thanks so much!!
+Michelle Dudar Aloha Michelle :) I'm so very sorry for your loss --- But know she is always with you in your heart and in spirit .. and cooking the way she did will always have her be a part of you :) Giving you a big hug sweetie --- :) I soaked it for only a few minutes in faucet warm water (roughly 5 or so). Yes continue cooking the noodles in the pot for another 5 or so minutes as well ... As soon as the noodles soaked in all the liquid and is transparent then it is okay to turn off the stove. Always add a little bit of soy sauce to the liquid too with lots of pepper and little bit of salt to taste .. I don't use pats in case someone is allergic (my daughter is allergic so i don't use patis). I ass veggies along with the cooked pancit and mix well .. but i do reserve a quarter of the cooked veggies to place on top for decorations. I transfer to a foil or oven proof container so that I can always reheat on low heat if necessary .. :-) Hope all this helps .. :=) Mahalo ..Diane
I look up this video every time I want to make pancit, thankyou so much for uploading this and keeping it up! Taste just like how my family used to make♥️
Out of all the recipe I like this one the best. I'm American and my boyfriends Filipino and he liked this on too. We just use oyster sauce. Yummy!! I really like how she cooks all the veggies separately!
I loved your video. My father was filipino and also in the military. I have been thinking about, and missing, some of the dishes he used to make, one being pancit. Thank you for providing the recipe - I can't wait to make it. I miss my dad (he passed away). Even hearing your filipino accent brought back the warmest memories. Thank you again!
Pamela Landry love hearing your voice speaking English n follow thro steps by step you are amazing nice sharing n helping others your knowledge cooking filipino noodles my favorite dish!!! I'm serious!! My parents arrived by boat 1922 from the PI n pancit never been around till the 80's!!🌴👣☀🍍🌴👣☀🍍🍍🍍🍍🌴Mahalo Plenty 😊😍😀
Just wanted to share that I loved your recipe! I made a vegetarian version of your recipe because I didn't have chicken and it turned out delicious! I really enjoyed watching you as well! It feels like I was right there with an aunty teaching me how to cook! Mahalo Nui! :)
I've tried making pancit several times before and my biggest struggle is mixing the noodles with the vegetables. It's always so hard to mix well and I end up with the vegetables at the bottom of the pan and the seasoning on one side of the pancit. How did you mix everything so well together?
I'm going to be making pancit tomorrow for Thanksgiving. I just wanted to see how others make it. Your video is similar to how I make it. I use the clear noodles as well. Chicken (not pork) and chinese sausage. Sometimes I add shrimp. Another thing I add is cut up hard boiled egg at the end for garnish. Nice job!
Great video, you're a good teacher. I've been wanting to learn how to make this dish for a long time. Thanks for demystifying the whole process. There's a market near me where I can get the noodles so I will try this this week.
i always cook pancit because my kids love it but i just cook the meat and veggeis contineously til the sauce and the bihon or canton and i used an extra big pan .but i salute the way you cook it,i dont have such patience as yours lol .i enjoy your show :)
awe Thank you Cassandra Johnson :-) And thank you for trying out the recipe as shown and commenting on how it turned out for you --- I TRULY do appreciate that. :) My kids love my Chicken Fingers recipe that I have posted up also. It calls for Almond Flour and Coconut Flour and Panko which adds the magic ingredients of making it delicious and crispy. :)
Why not shredd the carrots in a grator? Or use Also known as the “roll cut”, an oblique cut is the method of cutting food with two angled sides. This cut is useful when you want a larger surface area for glazing, for reducing cooking time, or to add visual appeal to a dish
:) if I remember correct Miss LaGaringer - it was you that requested for this popular filipino noodle dish. :) I am beginning to think your DiL is one awesome YOUNG lady :-) Bihon or Guisado is also my favorite. :-) Have a great evening!
Thanks for good video, it certainly appears to be time consuming, but looks yummy 😋! Seems like you cook a lot is onions and garlic because it is used in most of the vegetables that you cook, can you cook all the onions and garlic ahead of time, then use them as you cook each batch of vegetables? I don't know if this would speed up the preparation or not. I'm cooking it with shrimp and serving it with Chicken Adobe, should be a great pairing. Thanks again, from Seattle, Dave
Great recipe. I'm going to try to cook pancit for the first time tomorrow. Can you share how long you cook the veggies for? The green beans and carrots in particular?
Hi Mike - i separated my veggies because i prefer them crispy so i cooked them with a little crunch to them especially green beans, celery (8-15 minutes) Carrots and cabbage are soft to chew (10-15 minutes). It's all out of preference. But cooking it separate especially making it for the first time would be helpful - then you can control it better. Good luck. :)
Thank you thank you for making this video! I've long wanted to learn to make this favorite dish from my youth. This has been the most comprehensive, easy-to-follow recipe I have seen in a long time. Really appreciate you :) Mahalo!
hi that looks lovely. thank you. never heard of it before. looks better than chow me in. I love veg. always looking for more recipes. that I can tweek. am gluten free. can you tell me what snow peas are please. thank you. keep up the good work.
I always liked the larger noodles. I'm going to try to make this for my Filipino American kids, since the mom used to make it for us but abandoned us in 2009. I've never made this before. But I'm going to try. And what is the other famous dish, with lots of shrimp?
Hi! Are you referring to another popular Filipino noodle dish? Is is Pancit Palabok or Palabok? And sorry to hear about the ex. But I'm glad you've decided to make Pancit for your children. Hope it turned out well :)
I've made this recipe several times now. And my family and I absolutely love it. I've also made it for a few potluck lunches and dinners at my church and place of work. And it was a big hit. Now everyone keeps asking for it.
**Cook note***
I couldn't find Chinese sausage. So I used chorizo instead. It worked awesomely!!!
