DOWNSIZING From Motorhome To Elddis CV20 Campervan STORAGE ISSUES! What Do We Carry?

  • In this video we show what we carry and how we’re planning to store it after downsizing from the “luxury” storage options in a motorhome to the more restrictive space in a campervan. The main way that works for us is segregation of items we use a lot versus what we don’t need on every trip, we also show how we store things we only use once or twice a year.

    Good video, but I don't think there is a requirement to have a fire bucket, only requirement for the Caravan club and the Camping and Caravan club is a fire extinguisher, which can be fairly compact. keep up the good videos

    Really useful information for newbies like us as to what you take - I think I’ve gone a bit overboard with kit!!! Need to read up on the fire bucket requirements...didn’t know anything about that. I think the additions you done to the van insulation, boxing in, shelving, tables and wind deflectors are excellent. I think we didn’t realise what could be achieved to improve the functionality. Thanks for sharing.

    Absolutely brilliant!
    Because you are not new to this, you definitely are familiar what you definitely need and what you can keep behind, but use at a later date.
    I remember when Mom and Dad moved to a fifth wheel trailer (camper) to their first motorhome and loading up what they needed, which was still a lot.
    Leveling blocks, etc., like stated, you might need depending on the site.
    I loved your ingenuity on making the most of your compact space. Well done, both of you!

    Good video, interesting to see where you store everything. We also have a small van, it is an Accordo 105 and being coachbuilt it does have a bit more storage space. I keep our hookup cables under the drivers seat along with a towel for drying it.

    Hi just found you on TH-cam, loving the content. Just some quick questions about the flag pole. Where did you purchase it from ? what size is it? and how do you stake it to the ground ? Keep up the good work 👍🏻 cheers Shaun.

    • @RickandHeather
      @RickandHeather  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The flag pole was off eBay years ago now it was 6m but broke in the wind ages ago so lost 1.5m I’m after a new one! You buy a stake and hammer it in and the pole slides on.

    Hey great video, we are in the same position thinking of downsizing from a large Elddis motorhome...so we were waiting to see but you did not show it...where do you keep your bedding? Also how do you get on for kitchen side storage like kettle etc, we have a lot of spare space around and behind sink and cooker curreny, so was wondering how you get on? Thanks

    • @RickandHeather
      @RickandHeather  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have invested in Duvalays since downsizing and roll them up and store in between the bed while travelling then on the drivers seat when parked up, they roll up into a bag. We have also swapped to a collapsible kettle and saucepans that fit in each other with removable handles to help with storage, it’s surprising what you actually need to take.... thanks for watching hope that was helpful.
