I remember seeing Leonardo DiCaprio when I was a kid, and so was he, on a show called "Growing Pains." He has come a long way!

@@noahzynski YMMV but even people who disagree agree that both movies are worth seeing and stand on their own.
What's crazy is that one of the things Scorsese is known for is innovative camera-work and cinematography and that's one of the aspects of the original that arguably outshine's the remake.

(just for clarification: T9 ISN'T the same as autocorrect, flip phones WEREN'T "smartphones", which means they weren't touch screen, and in highschool during the use of the above 2 facts, there was MAYBE 1 cellphone owned to every 6 - 10 ppl. basically more students DIDN'T own a cell than did & widely so & if you did & were caught using it on campus AT ALL, you've just lost that thing 💁🏻♀️ FOR GOOD, so very secretively using them was a WHOLE thing... you'd be surprised what a person can finesse out of absolute necessity!
