I got the Flytanium copper scales on the same bugout a few months ago. AMAZING! Always hated the super light weight, made the knife feel “cheap”. Love the copper scales. Will definitely check out the micarta as well. Thanks for a great vid, as usual!
Titanium is great for the machining details, however micarta just feels great in the hand. Similar qualities to wooden scales, being texture & warmth. Without the potential for splitting through shrinkage/expansion. Anyway, I'm off to see if I can purchase some stickers. Such a cool freakin' logo, I want to put one on my guitar. Sorry to babble, I've noticed it's what I do nowadays :/ Cheers!
Holy hell. I just replaced the scales and hardware on my bugout and what a pain that was. I wish I had one of those pivot tools! I need to get one of those. That was a game-changer
Looks great! I think having a custom thumb stud a certain color would add a lot to the look yet still be subtle. In my opinion, a gold thumbstud and back spacers would look amazing!
My favorite model, after having mine two weeks I had too send it in too get the omega spring replaced. (Not the first Benchmade I had too send in). Get the Para 3 LW and thank me later. That said, I bought. Second Bugout CF/Elite and that one hasn't been back too BM yet.
@@dlife7427 wow have actually been contemplating a para 3. Just not a fan of the lightweights. My manix 2 and pm2 are both g10 versions. Plus I love colors on my knives. A red scales para 3 would be awesome. Thanks for info.
Really like the G10 scales for contact quality in the hand. Have an aluminum folder that always feels "greasy" in the hand. Just me, or is this a thing?
I was obviously WAY off on my guess on your takedown tool. 😂 That GITD mat is p-i-m-p! You made that look simple. If I ever get myself a Bugout, I will certainly be back to watch this again. I'd have had springs and screws everywhere before the first scale was on. Thanks, Zach! Stay well.
I replaced my original blue scales with these a couple of weeks ago. They’re excellent! I’d like to find a new backspacer to replace the blue standoffs, but Flytanium is out and Rockstead is asking a bit too much.
That's the price of not buying from china, & worth it. I picked up the Ti black Cerakote back spacer from Rockscale for my 535-3 and couldn't be happier
Another awesome one buddy!!!!!!and again for everyone who's first time it is taking a bugout apart this goes to show you it's not hard... take your time pay attention and taking knives apart can almost be something fun to do and hone your skills!!! Thanks for sharing zach!!!and those new scales are beautiful!!!!!!!
I have the older version of G10 scales on my Bugout but have the Lotus Scales on my PM2 Maxamet. Flytanium makes great stuff and now that @ocd4edc has them I'll be going through them!
Thanks for the useful breakdown of how to change the scales!
Another awesome hands-on demo video. I love it. Thanks so much for working through it and showing it to us. Thanks

Put the exact same scales on my BHQ exclusive Bugout w/black blade. Also replaced the barrel spacers with a titanium back spacer. Love it.
Gotta say that looks pretty damn amazing Zach. The black blade and hardware are definitely the ones to go for with these scales. Beautiful 👌🏻
Love the look of those scales!! Thanks Zach!!
Always amazing how you guys do these things on your knives. Still afraid to mess mine up.
Just takes practice! Happy to help if you ever want to change it up!
Me too lmao
@@zachstuff that would be amazing! There are things would love to try like scale swaps and scale dying just afraid of ruining the knives.
@@zachstuffit seems way easier with that tool holding it together I’ve seen people completely dismantle them just to put scales on
Looks great 👍 love the wood grain!! Great job 👏
Looking good Zach. Flytanium has really upped their game.

Ima do this black micarta with the silver blade and purple titanium internals and thumb studs
Wow! That looks so much better! Great looking micarta!
Boy oh boy that is an absolute beauty! Thanks for sharing Zach!
Just picked up the Orange mini and these scales..........arrives Friday. Thanks to your video, I'm happy with my decision.
Looks slick.

Groovy!
Man I love it, I feel an unhealthy addiction brewing.✨😏✨
Great looking scales! Love the look of that Bugout!
Still have never had a Bugout but those look amazing!

Def getting these for mine. That's straight kickassery
Definitely a great looking upgrade! Someday I hope to get a bugout I really like all the options for customization. Great video 👍
I don't own a Bugout but if I did that would definitely be my handle scale choice. Turned out great Zach
That micarta looks great !!!
Feels great too Rodney! Thanks for checking them out!
I love these new cross fade scales. I’m of the opinion that I’d like more weight on the Bugout so I’d love the copper/brass ones
Nice upgrade! I dig micarta.
Really like the G10 scales for contact quality in the hand. Have an aluminum folder that always feels "greasy" in the hand. Just me, or is this a thing?
I ordered a set of green micarta! I may have to get that pivot tool, looks like it’s makes assembly really easy
Those look amazing Zach thanks for sharing
Wish I had seen this video before I started changing mine! I got it done but nowhere near as fast. Great set of scales!

Yes the mat is great!! BladeHQ has them available. Many days of practice and always glad to help!!
Looks great in micarta!
Those are siiiick lookin scales bud! Still working on the last tid bit of lock stick on the 940-1 hehe. Almost got it!
So close!!! Thanks D2!!
Flytanium going on tilt with the crossfade scales.
Chad I totally agree! I can't choose between the two now!!
I had The Ti ones in my cart but needed a new drill for work so.
Great driver set. Been thinking about those kits.
I really want some scales but I'm worried about taking the bugout apart also the ones I want are the same price as the knife Titanium Critter Scales
Yes they go from budget to high end scales for you! Let me know if you ever need a hand!

Looks amazing Zach!!
ZACH, do you have any Bugout scales that don't have lanyard holes ?
Caveman Knife Scales
Thanks
How rigid are the micarta scales compared to the CF elite? Just wondering how much the knife flexes more with these scales
I find the CF Elite scales are a little flexible, less than the FRN and the Micarta is more rigid.
Looks fantastic dude. Great stuff!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Man it’s hard to beat Micarta Scales.. stay safe my Friend Semper Fidelis

Zach I didn't know you like the Benchmade "spring out" I mean bugout.
Awesome they look great
Love it man, looks great! Thanks for the video
Where did u get the pivot alignment rod again
Rust Bucket Goods on Etsy. Just search pivot alignment tools on their website. He has a couple different materials and finish options.
Hey Zach, sorry I missed this but I'm watching now :))
Do you know if the rock scale design backspacer fits with these?
They should as they are set for the barrel spacers tolerances. Double check by emailing Rock Scale or DM him on IG. Just to make sure.
Do all flytanium new scales fit the bhq 20cv model? I read something about the barrel spacers being diff on those
Different spacers on custom shop composite scales
Where can I pick up a pivot tool like that Zach?
Rust Bucket Goods on Etsy. Just search pivot alignment tool when you go to Etsy. He has a couple different material and finish options.
One word Zach , SWEET :)) 🤩🤩🤩
Good times John!!
Do you know if they make scales for the Grizzly Creek ?
Not yet....but you never know!!
Very nice must get
Oh and BADASS thumbnail 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks! Used the glow in the dark mat!!

Oh yes!! At blade HQ.

Nice!!
Where can I find the 535 BK-2 for a little over $100.00 ? Thanks
Keep a check on some of the knife dealers, they tend to run sales and especially with the 24th being national knife day, lots of sales all over!!
@@zachstuff Did not know the 24th was NKD. Thanks Zach, I'll keep an eye out.

Bug out is a rip-off. For what they charge for one it should have great scales off the bat. No liners? Come on. Hype
