    That pivot tool is a must have! It works for a lot of knives not just benchmades! I use it a lot to line up my Hinderer standoffs lol

    Pro tip is loosen the liners. I think thats basic knife maintenance. Always keep the body screws for the scales and or liners loose until your done with the pivot. Dont mean to be an ass. Awesome video, love the new scales. I think its time for me to get some scales for my bugout after over a year of owning it....

      Hey Scott, any chance you'll expand into making scales for the Grip/Mini Grip?

      Hey John,
      I did not make the scales. I was referring to a Bugout build I did with these scales that I recommended to Zach.
      Unlocked Composites has a Facebook group where you can ask this question. Travis Mashburn is the man at UC
      and seems to get back to people pretty quickly!

    Every time you use that pivot tool, those probably sell out. They look like they work so great. Those scales look so incredibly awesome. You always seem to find the nicest looking scales. Great video once again Zach!

    Really love those scales, they look really sharp. I need to get that pivot tool, I have Parkinson's and I could use any advantage when trying to swap scales on my knives. I am going to order that ASAP.

      @@zachstuff Thanks, I now see the drop down menu on Etsy (didn't see material option on eBay) and I ordered a brass one. I had already made on that works adequately but once I saw this one I had to have it. I also have a method to hold open the axis lock for assembly and disassembly that is really helpful.

    Is loctite necessary when replacing the screws, or can I still do without?
    I'm about to replace the screws on my stock benchmade with some brass/gold coloured ones, also replacing the thumb- stud and adding a backspacer.

    • @zachstuff
      @zachstuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On some of these smaller screws it is a good idea if you will be using your knife a lot. If not, a weekly check to make sure they are snug will work. Those scales you are getting sound nice!

      @@zachstuffThanks for replying! I'm hoping to get the scales from your recent Bugout video - the basket weave carbon fiber - however it's hard to find, being in the UK.

    Rule #3, never use Loctite unless proven necessary. I'd never put it on the scale screws, they are too small and too soft to chance buggering them up because you have to turn too hard to break the Loctite free.
