    It’s me. I’m the guy who likes the pocket clip on the “wrong” side. 😂😂

    Best Bugout upgrade is oversized Phosphor Bronze washers. Grab some Flitz and polish them up real nice before install. Makes such a difference. My $300 Carbon Fiber Bugout had the worst action that I have ever seen in a knife.

    • @olbubs
      @olbubs  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's interesting, my CF S90V was also the worst action of the bugout I've had. Most have been pretty dialed, I have one with the oversized washers and it does make a difference. Thanks for watching!

    The only axis/clutch lock knife I’ve ever held is the drop bear and holy shit that knife feels good. I just got it in the mail today and I can’t stop messing with it haha. It might be my favorite knife in my very small collection. I have never liked the stock bug outs with the scale flex, and how light they are but after the swap, could you compare the two? Like overall feel

    • @olbubs
      @olbubs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The drop bear is a great knife and the action on bearing knives with bar locks is really incredible. I prefer the feel of well broken in washers over bearings. I absolutely love bugouts in titanium scales. It elevates the knife to a whole new level. Even in titanium the bugout is much lighter and thinner than the drop bear. Both are great, it just depends on preferences! If I get a drop bear back in my possession I’ll make a short comparison video!

      @@olbubs hey first of all, thanks for the help the past couple days haha. You’ve answered a lot of questions for me. Appreciate that. Yeah if a bugout feels better than this Drop Bear then I for sure do need one. I guess everyone needs a bencmade right? Haha. I enjoy your videos 👍

    I dont get why so many people want to replace those blue FRN scales with smooth metal ones with no texturing and no color. If you ask me these scale swaps are all downgrades, not upgrades. The blue ones look and feel better.

    Disassembling your knife doesn’t void your warranty, it’s part of the regular maintenance of the knife.

    • @olbubs
      @olbubs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for watching!
      For reference directly from the card in the box that comes with a Benchmade knife under the section titled “What is Not Covered”:
      “Do not use your knife as a screwdriver, pry bar, chisel or punch. Do not throw your knife or use it for any other purpose than cutting. Do not disassemble your knife. Do not sharpen your knife on a power grinding wheel. Any of these acts will void your warranty”
      I wish you were correct, but Benchmade limits maintenance to adjusting the pivot and moving the pocket clip from one side to the other. More and more companies are updating policies to allow disassembly. Here’s hoping for the future!

    • @spasev
      @spasev 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@olbubs That is interesting and you just added another reason why I don’t buy benchmade knives. Oddly enough I looked at some other knife manufacturers and some do mention disassembling as a reason to void warranty like kizer but most don’t like Civivi, keeshaw, sencut , qsp, we….etc

      Hey Steve! No worries man!
      This was one of my earliest scale swap videos and I’ve made several since that the framing was much better. I do at some point plan to make another Bugout scale swap video to replace this one on the channel. I’ve opted to leave the video up because many folks have reported that it was helpful to them.
      Take care and thanks for the feedback!
