    Honestly, with a simple spring change front and rear, the 2.7 gallon IMS tank, and a spark arrestor muffler, I think this would make a freakin sweet trail ripper.
    No kickstand so you’ll have to find a tree, but it’s got good power delivery for trails and it’s a very simple and reliable design, kick start and such.

    Within divulging Enzo's secrets, it would have been nice to add a bit more detail of what valving changes were done to the forks, base valve, midvalve, oil volume etc.

    I know this inquiry is very late from when this video was posted, but just now happened upon it. Where can a person get that yellow tank?

    Isn't the changes to spring rates just related to your weight perhaps the stock suspension was targeted at a heavier person?

    • @ryannafe9252
      @ryannafe9252 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it’s basically just new springs and a couple of settings changes.

  • @carlwarner1560
    @carlwarner1560 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Would standard spring rates be ok for a 196lb rider? Or still too stiff?

    • @bocian8361
      @bocian8361 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a 20' rmz 250, i used to weigh around 200-197 lb's w/ gear. I set my sag and set the clickers out all the way and it worked pretty good since my terrain was very sandy. If i landed too short on table tops i would bounce upon landing. I also lost some weight so it's a little bit too stiff for me now.

    • @mustknowinfo2001
      @mustknowinfo2001 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bocian8361 you adjusted the clicker all the way back? Did it make a big difference at all or did you slowly adjust it? I'm probably over 200 with gear maybe 205 at least how do you think it would be for me? It sounds like it's perfect for guys 210 or so lol

    • @bocian8361
      @bocian8361 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mustknowinfo2001 I don't remember exactly but i did back them out a decent amount to try to soften it out. i followed a guide on motocross action magazine i think. If you are over 200 i think it should be good. I did it all in one go and didn't really adjust it during the track/woods ride.

    Now send the motor to Twisted or Baker speed to get a full race engine and i think you would really like it Don

    With the re-valve and respring can you put these KYB components on the 450? And would it be worthwhile?

    • @srFTL
      @srFTL 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shock won’t fit I don’t think and you would need the clamps for the forks. The showas are bigger

    • @eminiscalperpro9729
      @eminiscalperpro9729 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 250z shock is perfect for the rmz450. Although I'm sure the suspension shops have now figured out the 450z shock. But yes the 250 shock will be a good one to put on the 450

      @@eminiscalperpro9729 Thanks for the feedback. Do you happen to know if the 250s front forks are the same as the Yamaha SSS KYBs? When I ride my friends YZ450F I am blown away at the stock suspension on it.

    What an odd video. Stock RMZ with an exhaust and revalved suspension (from your brother) is considered a “build”? This was not a hard hitting video and seemed devoid of any deep insight that isn’t already commonly known.

      i own RMZ250 and really it not need much more. It is very good bike with very good engine. Read less magazines test and race more.
      It is equipped with everything. Only thing what holds it back is superstiff springs ( in forks and shock) When you put correct rate in, your brakes start works ( and way better than brembos, because Nissin have superior "feel") and everything other things too.
      So, when supsension setup it need only rider and reward rider a lot when you see 2 lap to go board. Because you can ride with RMZ250 very fast when you are tired too.
      It is beautifully engineered very good racebike.

    Would lowering the rear sprocket a tooth or two help it sign off a little later on a hard and long track?
