I met and talked to you as you were packing up at the Suwannee River campground. We had just completed a day of kayaking when we came upon your group. I have been following your adventures since then via your TH-cam channel and have enjoyed all of them! You have a great way of documenting all your travels and the video editing and narration allows all of us viewers to enjoy everything you experience. Best of luck in all your future adventures, I’ll be watching!
Yay, no one flipped! Those Ozark Trail stoves kinda rock for the money. Great job on the donuts! 🍩 Y'all sitting at the picnic table laughing at the Laffy Taffy jokes was priceless. Those moments are what it's all about. 😊 This reminded me of a 3 day canoe down the Saco in Maine; sooo much fun. Btw, congrats on 50K and counting! 😀✌️
Great memories Kelly !! For 28 years I took the scouts first spring weekend to the Okefenokee. Always staying @ Griffith's Fish Camp just outside the gates of Steven Foster. Over the years, we canoed from the Okefenokee all the way down to the gulf... I love reliving the past through your vlogs while enjoying retirement...❤ 😊
Awesome! I need to go on another canoe/kayak adventure. My last one was on the Ocklawaha River before the pandemic hit. Hiking and road tripping have been my primary activities so far this decade. Last decade it was hiking, snorkeling, and road tripping. The Suwannee is a great river, and the Santa Fe is a smaller version of it. The blackwater resembles the following: -Root beer -Coca-Cola -Tea That’s a natural process with the tannins from the trees.
I just watched a video yesterday of Florida camping guy canoeing from Fargo Georgia all the way down the suwanee river all the way to the Gulf! And now you popped up today! Is a greater power trying to tell me something something? I guess it's time to plan a fun canoeing trip!
Suwanee is now on my Florida paddling bucket list. Cool to see my buddy Dan Truitt, aka Southern Paddler on TH-cam, in the sing along section of your video on Day 1.
Hey Kelly, I'm old married guy and the wife and I have been enjoying your channel since we live in Florida and are traveling around at many of the campgrounds in our 39' toy hauler rv that you are we are gaining some valuable insight into some of the local RV state parks we haven't camped at yet. You're video's are helping us make up our mine where we want to go next. We have been to a lot of the RV resorts but we're finding those to be too over priced and full of high dollar Northerner folks we call snow birds with new really expensive RV's that for some reason don't like us locals. We did Jetty Park last year and we are booked again this year for Chassahowitzka River park after watching your video. Stay out of those little fire ant holes they can be a bugger if you're allergic to them.
Hey MJ great video, reminded me a little bit of our weekends canoeing along the Alleghany River in Pa many years ago. The donuts looked awesome, never would have thought to use the bisquit dough (not real fancy cooker here) thanks for the idea!
Awesome paddling adventure. Congrats on 50,000 subscribers. That's over double the subscribers you had when I first started watching your AT videos. You will have one of those silver TH-cam play buttons in no time. 😎👍
Love it! I just spent 7 days leading our Scout troop across the Okefenokee Swamp and down the upper Suwannee. Highly recommend adding the Okefenokee and the river section from the Sill to White Springs. It’s always my favorite part of the trip.
In the seventies, I used to work for a small company that sold fishing tackle, boating equipment, camping equipment, etc. I made deliveries of paddles, life jackets, etc from White City to the coast all along the Suwannee River. Good memories.
It’s been over a decade since I kayaked and love to get back to it this summer since I’m a river floater. I just recently discovered a hidden spring cave last Sunday with a group of friends and I filmed through it to the other side and also filmed some big waterfalls. Those chili dogs are my all time fave!
Hello Kelly great video a trip like that will break up the winter humdrum Really appreciate your efforts and your videos being you have to work and do everything else in life have a great day
Great idea on the donuts. Gonna have to try that at camp sometime! Also had been thinking about doing a Kayak camp next year and will check out this river trail system. Thanks!
That treehouse would be an amazing place to stay. I'm looking forward to hearing your destination and six months of hiking adventures. Thank you for the great content.
50K subs! Well done! Can biscuit donuts are awesome. Next time try not flattening and putting the hole. Fry a whole biscuit, personal preference but they are fluffy in the middle. Both are good.
What a fun adventure paddling down the Suwannee River! The blackwater rivers in that area always remind me of root beer or tea, with their dark tannin color. 👍
That was a cool adventure. I kayaked on the Suwanee River somewhere along there but there were four or five crystal clear freshwater springs you could paddle up and go swimming. Hope you got to see them. Hope you are doing well and stay happy.
As a boy scout in the late 60’s and a lot of the 70’s. This was a very common weekend trip for my troop. We’d put in in Fargo and get out at white springs. An old man and his sons would drive your vehicle to white springs so we could load up and go home. Great memories for me.
I love camping at Stephen foster SP at your start place ! Lots of great mountain bicycling riding in that area . I was just swimming in the suwanee a few months ago!! It does look like ice tea ! Thanks for the paddle along !!! 😁
That looks like so much fun! It’s so wonderful that you have friends to do these adventures with. If I mentioned doing anything like this with anyone, I know, they would laugh and say have fun bye! Ha ha ha I am so excited to hear about your summer through hike!! 💕💕💕
I grew up, and live, in Live Oak. Summers spent on the river, and surrounding springs, was awesome. Most of the springs are south of where you all were at. They are amazing.
Such rich colors the compound pirate hat. I loved the burgundy bandana. The dog was good. A fun trip but too short. Nice try on the donuts. When you are starving everything is totally tasty.
That treehouse and graffiti bridge are in Suwannee Music Park and you would LOVE attending a festival there. The best grounds to experience live music on EVER. That place is pure magic.
@kellyhays23 When I saw you paddle past the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park I went straight to the comment section to say this, but I see someone beat me to it, lol. I go every October for Suwannee Hulaween. It's the best music festival in the country if you ask me. You really oughta go one year. I never knew how beautiful the Suwannee River was until I visited the SOSMP. Now my friends and I are plainning a canoe trip similar to yours. The music park has their own canoe outpost which is where we'll probably rent our canoes from.
Hi 👋 Kelly love watching your adventures! We relocated from Washington state to Stuart Florida . Right now we are staying at Phipps rv campground . It’s definitely a place you should visit . They have cool tents set up with screens. Bbq fire pit on a huge pond and on the at lucie locks .
Lived in Live Oak in the late 80s- wife and I threw canoe in the Suwannee and did several overnight camping trips. Camped on sand beaches. Lots of bugs and heat and many gators. Being originally from up north it was a completely different type of camping.
I love your content so much. I just realized that I want to go camping and I live in South Florida and I really adore that you do this. Keep going I really hope to be doing what you do someday.
Oh, the memories this video brings up. We did that stuff in Maine, Swift water, calm water, white water rapids. The fun and the friendships that developed. Thanks for posting.
Just found you, a few days ago. Can't say enough good things about your videos. Been an avid outdoorsman all my life. Due to accident and age, not able any more. Gonna let you be my eyes, ears and legs, now. Hope you have many years enjoying what you love. I'm going to come along with you, if you don't mind. I'll be quiet, you'll hardly know I'm there.
Ah there's the donuts!!! Nice job! That trip looked like so much fun. Did you know all those ppl? Tripod was the only one i knew haha! And I have never seen folks paddle with umbrellas haha hilarious! Great video again! 🥰
So much fun !!! Thanks for sharing --I have a question what do you do with the left over oil from making the donuts and any food garbage ? Can't wait for the summer thru hike ....
We're doing our first camping trip of the year at Joplin on Lake Ouachita this weekend...hiring a designated cameraman to follow us around for my 1st video because beer and me with a camera dont mix haha...
You went to Siesta Beach and said it was the best beach. I wld say the panhandle beaches esp. near Pensacola have the best beaches in all Florida. Pure white sugar sand and the water is so turquoise color. I been to just about every beach down here and even I had my mouth open when I went up there to those beaches. The beaches from siesta key down south are so packed full of people.
Thanks for sharing! Looked like a great trip! I am hoping to go from Kingfisher Landing - Okefenokee Swamp into the Suwannee River and finish at the Gulf. I don't know how feasible that it is. Just researching at the moment. Do you have any must have resources for researching this trip?
I like this Channel and I'm glad I found it because I feel that a lot of female campers on TH-cam make their camping Channel more about their body then actual camping
We did this trip with our Boy Scout troop a few years ago. The big difference was that the water level was extremely low. We started at Stephen Foster and traveled for five days.
Cool videos! I want to go camping in Arkansas for the solar eclipse. Anybody have cool recommendations for primitive spots? I’m in an equipped FJ so I can get there.
I swear I'm just missing you, I was at big cypress 2 weekends ago for 5 days. Now headed to the Suwanee on Friday for 4 days!!!, I may as well tell you I'm headed to green swamp/richloam in two weeks. Meet me there😂😂🤘
I thought I heard banjos around your canoe trip but when I saw the case of PBR, I know I heard banjos. lol Other than the rain, that looked like a really fun trip.

I do as well. I’ve snorkeled a lot of springs on that river. Rum Island is one of my favorites, and there’s so many more.

First church of the masochist also has videos of entire Suwannee.
The camera shots, drone footage, & music… another fun & educational adventure!

I could imagine how good the donuts were! So cool that everyone was having fun despite bad weather.

Yesss I really want to do that next!!!
My mom and I just hiked that section of the Suwanee River ~3 weeks ago. It was great.

That was so cool Kelly keep it up always waiting to see your next trip
Love your adventures. Been watch videos for quite a few yrs.
Good luck on your canoe adventure Kelly
I grew up, and live, in Live Oak. Summers spent on the river, and surrounding springs, was awesome. Most of the springs are south of where you all were at. They are amazing.
Looks like fun .I will say Lafayette Blue Spring to Branford Spring is better. And the SanteFe east and west of Ginnie Springs is the best.
Love this video Kelly. Great trip with friends. Nice editing job too. You are so pretty. Thank you!
Whaat! I've been wanting to get into some trail to river action. I have a short cheapo kayak perfect for trails. Only about 6 ft long. Looks fun!
Such rich colors the compound pirate hat. I loved the burgundy bandana. The dog was good. A fun trip but too short. Nice try on the donuts. When you are starving everything is totally tasty.
Awesome video. That look like a blast. Thanks for sharing 👍
Nice , yay you made it to our stomping grounds of FLA. ❤that trip is fun, done it before we started our channel.😊
Such awesome content.. always so happy and such a people person. Very addictive to watch.

Very enjoyable, good therapy, the tree house, so much fun, donuts 👍
Super impressed with that canoe landing and ramp. And those camp sites and structures are like Hilton’s to me
Great video! The Panhandle has some awesome paddling spots as well!
You nailed it once again, what a lovely content! 👌👌
Loved the video!!! Thank you! May I suggest either olive or canola oil next time for frying? MUCH healthier and canola oil has a higher smoke point.
I used canola oil in this video. Olive oil is too low smoke point for deep frying. Avocado oil or coconut oil would be best but also 3x as expensive
Cool fun for you all. I love camping.
"...it"ll be fun, they said..." 😂
Every adventure good for at least 1 excellent moment of sarcasm 👍
Great video Kelly
Niiiiice I'm headed to the Suwanee on Friday for 4 days!!! But I'll be turkey hunting!! Freakin love the Suwanee!!
Awesome trip Kelly...I got to check it out.

Your trips are so fun Kelly!

All the luv that goes into those camp doughnuts😉
Wow, that water looks a bit murky! Looks like a fantastic trip though! I've never done a canoe camping trip myself.
I'm headed down this weekend to Seminole state park in GA, I'll have to check that out for sure.
I was just there. Stayed at Otter.
Then I went down to Sanibel barf.
I’m goin back to N FLORIDA and dive the springs
Ive been wanting to do this paddle for a while now. How many people do those screened in shelters hold comfortably?
Found you a little while ago, and getting caught up. I enjoy these videos!!!

Beautiful black water
Great adventure with fun people! Boat trips are the best since you can bring all the luxury items =)
Exactly!!
Excellent Video, Thanks..
I should go down to the river more often.. my off grid home is 1/2 mile from it, on the northern bend.
My days of canoeing are over unfortunately so I can live vicariously thru these young people
Sweet!! To bad it wasn’t warmer and clearer water instead of the “tea water”. Looked fun tho thanks for bringing us on your adventures always.
I would have definitely went swimming in the root beer if it was warmer! Maybe next time
