    This is actually one of the best pelican case builds I've seen and I appreciate you sharing the build details. I've just never wanted to spend money on a gaming laptop nor have I needed a compact form factor really

    I would reccomend using rubber spacers or anything else with shock aborbing capabilites to mount the pc to.
    like in a car engine-bay, where everything rests on rubber dampers, to prevent vibration and shock.
    in case you drop it or it falls over, the impact of the fall doesn't go through the components as bad

    • @obaka
      @obaka  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True! At the moment, only the graphics card is sitting on rubber "shock absorbers"

    Nice build... thanks for sharing! I didn't see any screws on the lid... how are the motherboard risers (for the ABS) at 5:44 secured to the lid? Thanks.

    • @obaka
      @obaka  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm happy to hear you liked the build and video! As for securing the risers: on the lid of the Pelican 1510 there are 6 plastic cylinders sticking out towards the inside of the case. I drilled holes partially through these cylinders without going through the entire lid. Then I installed heated inserts into these holes using a soldering iron. The motherboard risers can then be screwed into the inserts, securing them to the lid. Good luck and have fun if you're going to build one of your own!

    I'm actually thinking of doing this and was looking around for examples! Where did you find that power socket and front I/O plate? Taken from an existing case? And how does that GPU mount work? Would you mind providing the models for it? I plan on printing out custom shock mounts and keeping it water tight to bring it on a plane with me.

    • @obaka
      @obaka  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The power socket, i/o plate, power button, and a lot of the other parts were all bought from Amazon. The GPU mount works by holding onto a ledge of the GPU and then securing it with a screw so it cannot slide out of the mount itself. Unfortunately I do not have the model for the mount anymore :( Good luck with your build! I would love to see a picture of it when you're done! :D

    I’m currently working on my own build tho my fabrication and pre planning is all over the place anyway you can help

    • @obaka
      @obaka  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The simpler you can keep your build, the easier it will be to plan and execute. For example, to save space and not have to install a traditional SSD this build only has an M.2 NVMe. Furthermore, you're going to have to get most of your parts first so you can check rough fitment and be able to plan out your build. This build was mainly thrown together with spare parts I had and the fabrication is very crude (rough edges, cuts aren't straight, etc.). I know someone that is building a crazy pelican case build (3080, completely water cooled, larger screen), and it requires a lot of planning, 3d modeling, special fittings, and other special parts like small form factor PSU and smaller reservoir. He's been planning and working on his build for over a year and a half. As long as you don't give up, you'll be able to finish your build! Good luck!!!

    Yo I see you have a machine to cut your plexiglass if that is what you use...I was.wondeing when I get to finishing up on mine could you cut a piece for me and give me a price..instead of just regular plexiglass I want to use polycarbonate it is a better quality and more durable than just regular plexiglass.

    • @obaka

      Ohh uhh I used acrylic. You can use a service such as Send Cut Send, which was the company I used, to cut stuff out of different materials. I forgot to draw the holes for the screws which was why I had to drill the holes into the acrylic piece.

    hello keyboard mouse?

    • @obaka
      @obaka  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a slim keyboard and mouse set from amazon with the dongle plugged into the USBs in the back of the motherboard. These days I still use the slim keyboard with the Pelican Case PC but I also use a wired gaming mouse I plug into the I/O panel. Everything still fits inside the case for transport (keyboard, wifi antennae, power cable, and wired mouse).
