  • Got rid of my Orbiter 2.0 extruder and went for the new Vz-Hextrudort. Fits my Vz235 nicely.

Does the CNC machining really makes the print quality better overall?

How is the extruder? have you tested for woodgrain? I'm curious to know about woodgrain given MirageC results.

I only did the calibration cube and then started to print parts

Better surface quality than Orbiter? I found Orbiter was an upgrade coming from a BMG style extruder.

Out of the box the calibration cube with the recommended klipper settings was better than before with orbiter 2.0. I used Esun PLA+ and did only some basic calibration. I'm happy.

Did the extruder remove the uneven layer stacking for you? Just curious since I bought one and still see this issue.

I'm not that experienced to give you a sophisticated opinion. I can only say that results were better than with orbiter 2.0. But I'm too lazy to do a lot of tuning.

Could that be from the z screws? I know that there is MirageC’s wobbleX, that can help with Z issues, perhaps that's where you issue is stemming from? They do a great video about it.

How does a Bowden tube secure on either side of the extruder? I'm curious if this piece is compatible with a Bowden setup

How much did the whole printer cost?

I bought all the parts during corona when prices were lower. I think it was still over 1200$
