    The best tip in my book is go and start with drifting in VR...after you manage drifting you manage anything...

      You might be right, I started on wipeout vr moved onto dirt rally and that was that, no issue ever.

    The fear of motion sickness has been my biggest hurdle to buying the PSVR2, in some FPS ill get sick, ill start trying your tips for sure

    7:58 can do this if you have an iPhone with facial recognition, app can measure this accurately.

    Absolutely true. This September I finally got my first VR Crystal Light. Mad motion sickness I had. Because of my love to simracing I kept trying in short attempts- Nordschleife Assetto Corsa with mazda mx cup car. I know I should have chosen Arbath 500 :). Those wristbands I remember from childhood now, will try. Basically consistency and pacing yourself + 90fps is a key. I could barely do 1 lap and ended up completely drenched and sweaty. Now can do quite few laps. But at the end of lap when I stop and reverse car I immediately feel discomfort haha

    I had no problem in ACC (been using VR for a while)… first time I tried Dirt Rally 2.0 and my car shifted 45 degrees to the left and my body/inner ear didn’t made me sick as a dog for the entire night. Gradually, I was able to play DR2 more and more. Now it doesn’t phase me and I can run full sessions with ease. Keep at it!

    All the tips you included are great. But i wouldve unfolded more about helmet refresh rate and just basically - more hz vr screens can push (with enough fps) - the better experience you would have and less motion sickness would occur. So yeah, 120 to 144hz is the way to go. 90 is so choppy after experiencing 144... Next - fans blowing wind are also a good tip - but keep in mind that having it constantly blowing on you at max speed - can give you a cold. So use swinging fans for it and low speed setting. I personally use 2 fans like that from opposite directions. Tip that you didnt include - adding vibromotors and bass shakers to your rig. Those are usually cheap, but they can give you so much... Not only more immersion, but also an advantage on track when set up correctly. They also will give you enough feel to lower sickness. Some small tips- dont overtighten helmet headstrap on your face - make it just enough so that it doesnt wobble; get yourself some water in close reach or even a hydrator when you are in long competitive sessions; play some other games like hl alyx and later bonelabs to get your brain used to vr even further; get yourself helmet with displayport preferably so it gives you better image latency; get perforated leather face cushion for helmet and mask with vents.

      If your 90 frames is choppy then it's not 90.

    agree to many of the tips but I can't stand the lock to horizon function. With the camera fixed to the car, the virtual wheel and my physical wheel and the car around me stay fixed, giving me a good reference between real and virtual, but with lock to horizon, not only the outside world is moving but also the car around me. Drive up a hill at the nordschleife, you look into the bottom of the car, needing to compensate looking up and driving down the hill you look at the roof needing to compensate as well, both being very unnatural.

    Great tips. I agree with all of what you said, however while you are waiting for that motion rig, I can highly recommend bass shakers.
    Btw, what VR headset are you using?

    • @sxdattxb
      @sxdattxb 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah those and vibromotors on pedals are a must. even if you already have a motion platform - you should still add those. not only giving more feel to it, but also a valuable telemetry that, when get used to, you can extract advantage out of

      @@RandomNoisewhat makes you say that??? I would think the Pimax would actually be better with it being hard wired for PCVR.
      Also the other TH-camrs rave about the Pimax, but I guess it could be all marketing

      @@blkcyborg92 its all marketing, believe me, I was so hyped about Pimax, but when I received mine (Crystal Light) I was so disappointed, bad plastic, heavy, uncomfortable, and the clarity is not so great. Also their customer service is a joke.

    The biggest tip, short intervals. Take the vr off. Like everything else rlse in life. Practice makes perfect.

    The only real solution is just to do it over and over and over until your brain stops freaking out. It has been a good year since I last got even remotely sick. I have had the VR for roughly a year an 1/2

    Great video, thanks! Million-dollar question. You said to maintain a consistent 90 FPS in the VR headset. I am sure with a 4090, this is easy peezy. What card do you think could attain a consistent 90 FPS without spending over $2k?

    I feel bad for people who get sick in V.R. For me, the crazier, the better. Take breaks and ease into it.

    I was so motion sick than even motionless vr would make me feel sick in seconds. Took me 2 full moths of daily practice to somewhat get over it. Now i'm able to play dirt rally all day long np. But getting there was a real battle with my brain/stomach. The is no way to sugarcoat it. If you have motion sickness its going to hurt getting over it but it can be done. 😑

    • @FullFledged2010
      @FullFledged2010 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And one more thing. Once you get over it its stays like that for years. I have had periods of not playing VR for over a year and I have zero motion sickness when I start playing again. 🤷‍♂

  • @jsaleen17

    And here I am, buying the Valve index years ago because it had the highest reports of motion sickness. I've never suffered from it. Motion sickness is in your head. And if you think about it, you will get sick. So enjoy that weird feeling instead of thinking "Whoa, that feels weird."

  • @minners71

    I can't even read or look at a phone for more than 10 seconds while being a passenger in a car without turning green. Yet the only problem I had in VR was the first time I had to reverse the car and it was almost instant but only happened once and never again. So just because you suffer motion sickness in real life it doesn't mean that you will in VR.

    Thank God i don't suffer from motion sickness, only two games give me motion sickness,
    1. City car driving, very bad (jidder head tracking only in this game for some reason).
    2. Drive club, not too bad tho (can tolerate for about an hour or slightly more).

    • @sxdattxb
      @sxdattxb 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      motion platform needs alot of tweaking and tuning before getting into sim. also it needs to have separate profiles for different sims. you mightve tried platform with wrong settings, and helmet with bad latency or bad fps. bad latency with motion rig can induce more sickness
