These guitars are definitely worth spending more than you paid for them on mods. I have the striker model and I spent more modding it then I paid for it, but the guitar I have now is one I’ll never let go of. I’m going to do the same to a baretta special next. They really did a great job with these necks, probably the best foundation for modding currently on the market.
I have a Squier classic vibe Tele that I spent more in upgrades than I did on the guitar and I have zero regrets. I've yet to find an American model that plays or sounds better.
agreed sometimes its the little things that can make a cheap guitar look feel and sound alot better i own the same guitar but white, i put a graphtech nut Seymour duncan JB and locking tuners and it plays and feels like the 1000$ counterpart - the floyd
Looks great, sounds great, especially for a one volume knob, 1-pickup guitar. I’ve had a Seymour Duncan set with the same pickup and I think a ‘Jazz’ something’ still in the package for a while but this is motivational for me to decide which guitar to use them on and do it. I’ve used a set of Guyker tuners and Gotoh’s as well as Grover’s for a few years, and no problems with any of them. However I just received another set of Guykers which I ordered as 6L’s for the same side of headstock as your Kramer, but they sent me ones for the opposite side. Do you recall whether you ordered your tuners for ‘6L’ or ‘6R’s’?
I got a Black and a Blue one and modded them with Floyd's and Duncans with coil splits for less than half of what the classic versions sold for. These are a great value when I bought them for $179 shipped to my door BNIB!
I put a Babicz bridge on my Baretta Special and put a Franky pickup in it. The necks on these guitars are thin. I put a Japanese made Kramer neck from the 90's on. Great guitar...and you are right...makes a great modding platform.
If I had one, I'd modify it with a floyd rose, neck with reverse headstock, dimarzio tone zone humbucker and put aluminum tape on the body to make it look like Jon Levin's 1988 Kramer baretta foil guitar
Love mine, but I'm not used to the baseball bat size neck on it. I guess it'll just take some getting used to, but I wish I could get a thinner neck for it.
In debating trading my ESP Viper for a Kramer Nightswan. Love ESP, but Kramer has a certain nostalgia for me. The Kramer Nightswan also has a Floyd on it. However it will be another black guitar in an endless train of lefty black guitars.
If you are implying that putting a Vegatrem or Floyd Rose on an inexpensive guitar is dumb, it seems to me that Eddie Van Halen did exactly that with his original Frankenstrat... Just saying!
@@addictedtogear yes the bridge yes stock bridge is not bad but not that great either. The nut is good just add some sauce once in a blue moon she be good
I bought a mint Kramer Baretta with a stock Seymour Duncan JB and an Floyd Rose 1000 bridge for 350 EUR. Way cheaper than this guitar with all the mods.
I bought 2 Baretta Specials and modded them into EVH style guitars. Inexpensive guitars to have fun with. Great job Tony!
What colors did u get
I bought a white one and a purple one. LOL
Do you have pics? Love to see them

11:43 Gotta love when Tony makes a reference to an old Canadian children’s show. 😂 Hey Tony! 97% of your audience has no idea what a tickle trunk is.
That makes it even more interesting LOL
Tickle trunk is where Turdeau gets all his costumes! Lol,,, 😉
Was it casey or Finnigan
It looks really great with the black hardware! It actually makes a massive difference and gives off the impression of a way more expensive guitar.
Yeah, I agree.

Great upgrades! The black hardware just looks so much better! Good job, man
How about the chrome strap buttons? Going to change them to black? Seems incomplete without doing that.
I just got the vintage white one. Absolutely love it. Can you provide a link to the tuners please. Thanks.

Tony, great job. Can you please tell us the proper Wilkinson model number so I don’t get some I would need to send back, please. Thanks
Good job Tony !
I just put a Paul Reed Smith , bridge and a dimarizo super distortion pick up .

great video!! I did not know that Vega Trem is in black colour.
Yes it is available in black. Thanks for watching.
Seems youve got one of the older models that still had the nice dark boards, cant stand the grenadillo boards on the new ones
Absolutely fantastic…great mods Tony…I wanna do one myself 👍
You won’t regret it
Rock on 😊
I put a big brass block on my Beretta that Vegatrem has a really tiny block did you notice less sustain or anything negative about that?
I put a Babicz bridge on my Baretta Special and put a Franky pickup in it. The necks on these guitars are thin. I put a Japanese made Kramer neck from the 90's on. Great guitar...and you are right...makes a great modding platform.
It really does! Join in on the live Sunday show if you have more questions!

Is this guitar to different to a squier one?
Tony two mods on kramer barreta special are easy one is changed the neck for old school or replace neck and second is floyd rose tremolo!
I feel like the VegaTrem is less hassle than the Floyd Rose system… why change the neck?
The main reason to get a Baretta is the neck !!!!!
Love mine, but I'm not used to the baseball bat size neck on it. I guess it'll just take some getting used to, but I wish I could get a thinner neck for it.
The necks are what makes these guitars awesome!!!
Great job Eddie...er Tony👍
LOL I wish..

I think you need a little more colour in your life…
VegaTrem is bad ass and I’m throwing it on my Baretta Special without question!!! Hot Rodding these things are a freaking blast!!!!
What is that screwdriver you have? name brand.. or model number?
Its called a Retratabit from Workforce
I’m mad at myself that I didn’t buy the Kramer Baretta I played a few weeks ago. It was so good.
It’s never too late. They are good and inexpensive.
Do you have link to where you got the locking tuners?
They are listed in my amazon link.
@@addictedtogear thanks
Anything is an improvement from the stock tuners. If the tiny screws are stripped place a tooth pic in the hole. Done that’s it
How are the tuning stability of the tuners with heavy trem use?
Once the strings are stretched out its pretty good!
good video
i noticed your baretta has a dark fretboard, where did you purchase yours?
It’s a early model. The new ones are different.
what exactly is the difference may i ask?@@addictedtogear
Model number on those Wilkinson's?
The link is in the video notes
what model are those Wilkinson Tuners?
The link to the tuners is in the video notes.
How durable are those Vega Trem blades?
The metal on this thing is outstanding
Tony likes deep shafts.😅
Pervert! LOL
That's a crazy amount of money for a Vega to put on that cheap thing
Don’t knock it till you try it… LOL
Hello! Made in China?
Vega trem on this guitar seriously...
If you are implying that putting a Vegatrem or Floyd Rose on an inexpensive guitar is dumb, it seems to me that Eddie Van Halen did exactly that with his original Frankenstrat... Just saying!
I heard they go out of tune very quickly
Not after you upgrade the bridge and nut.
@@addictedtogear yes the bridge yes stock bridge is not bad but not that great either. The nut is good just add some sauce once in a blue moon she be good

@@guido_verhasselt how much?
Want to buy one of these but the new models ship with Pau Ferro boards rather than what appears to be a true rosewood in this video. Major downgrade.
I agree. I will try to source a made in Indonesia model. I believe the Chinese models have the pay ferro boards.
No black strings
Not yet but that's a good idea
