Good points made here. I found a mix of things led to the bad tuning. The headstock design and break angle (the headstock angles back) means the nut is fairly critical in tuning stability compared to like a tele or a prs where they all line up and theres no break angle. The trem block is tiny, and i came to the same conclusion of your friend and blocked it.
Its a kickass little guitar and the neck feels AWESOME.
one difference i found from yours in buying: i had to try 5 of them and i picked the best frets over color (i wanted ruby red, a white model had a smoother neck). The fret sprout on the others was horrible (like to the point i had scratches for days after on my fingers from rubbing my hand up and down the neck.

When “jumbo nut” means it sticks out to stop your hand from flying off the end of the neck because you’re playing so fast

Thanks for the video. Might have to get one of these. I just want a cheap 80s style guitar while i wait to get a Jackson Rhoads.

i got blue, $199, couldnt put it down the 1st 2 weeks i had it, SUPER fun to play, its not the greatest GUITAR EVER, with a little work, you can get to stay in tune "better" lol but for 200 bucks? its a no brainer.

These things would slam if they just had 24 frets. The extra super jumbo frets are dope tho

Yes. Any cheap guitar can sound good. You just have to know how to fret dress and do a great intonation job and setup yourself. Use super light strings and wire up a direct-to-jack push/pull switch and you'll most likely not need a tube screamer.

I replaced the bridge (fender American), the tuners to locking and the pick up (JB) and filed out the nut quite a bit and with lubrication all but the G keep in tune if you don't go to hard on the trem, the G i tune a little to low so that when you trem it gets a bit to high until you bent again on that string, but you hardly notice then the g is a tiny bit off, others on youtube had good results with a new black tusq nut. I also leveled all frets, so a nice low action is possible with no buzz at all....

i did the same things to mine (just havnt did the bridge yet i like the idea of a vintage style fender one cant really go wrong there) and ya i did locking tuners a jb and graphtech nut and WOW plays like a 1000$ guitar id imagine with a new bridge how much better it will add to the quality the block and whole system is cheap n light lol, and i clipped the "Treble Bleed" which makes the volume pot into a on/off switch..

@@sleevelessace worked a bit more on smoothing out the nut with high grain sandpaper and when de strings are fully stretched, she keeps her tune.....👍

@@kenweckhuysen9264 honestly this guitar is amazing when added with a few mods the locking tuners werent even crazy expensive ones just musiclily locking pros 46-60$ cad i believe, most expensive mod was the JB which was worth it but the stock pickup isnt that bad either (most important mods would be the nut, tuners that would go a long way, and bridge because ive noticed even with the claw screws back a bit the tremelo arm is very very stiff, did u notice that aswell?

@@sleevelessace always have the bridge locked to the boody for direct drop d tuning possibility, so the arm is always stiff ...so don't know

With how cheap this is though, you can also afford to have a guitar tech swap in new tuners, nut, and maybe graph tech saddles. Could this fit a nicer trem unit too?

I think it could. And yeah. $200 bucks and the thing could be amazing
