    Awesome instruction video. Loved it, and ended up making my own Balance Board using your instructions, inlay, and all. Must admit yours are ten times nicer than my final result, but this was, to my defence, also my first time using my new Router, so all in all satisfied. As I do not have a tabletop-saw, I ended up using what size of strips I could buy, with the result of having to make two passes with the Router for each groove. Made it difficult to achieve a perfect fit. Next time I will either invest in a saw or buy a Router bit that fits the broadness of the inlay stripe.

    I've seen you make half MDF molds, and I find the idea brilliant especially on objects that have to be as geometric as possible, such as skateboarding and rocking. That way with half the mold and with the help of the mill you would have more refined jobs. Sorry for the observation, but not all of us see only the whole work, but also the smallest detail.

    I like to focus more on design, thought process, and problem solving than matching one's method of creating something. If someone makes something with a CNC that I like the design of, I'll figure out how to do it with out a CNC. Might be more difficult to execute, but I also don't have to go through all the designing, tool paths, troubleshooting, etc, so I'm sure it all evens out in the end. Unless you're going to make a lot, in which case, sign me up for the CNC Lol
    Rule #1 of internet woodworking, anytime a CNC is used, the have-nots will come out in droves lol I like the pattern, and appreciate the work regardless of whether it's CNC or by hand (though what does that mean, it's still a motorized router, and a guide that only puts you in control of moving it in one axis, so is it really that much different overall? lol) Do it with a saw, chisel and router plane and you'll get comments like "a router would be so much faster", so really you can't ever win :-D

    • @3x3CustomTamar
      @3x3CustomTamar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With the 3/4” thick plywood, would it be strong enough for a length of 48” board? I want to make a snowboard style balance board like yours but possibly with a 16” width. What do you think?

    Why would anyone get upset about using your CNC? It's a shop tool too!

      Well. They said they thought they would learn how to do the inlay pattern and we’re upset they couldn’t replicate it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Beautiful board! Which plywood did you choose? Is it beech? Do you know "Bredder Boards" from Tübingen in Germany?

    I built a DIY Indo board about a year ago for my wife and used grip tape instead of inlaying it. Even cut her name out for it. I definitely am up for a challenge, and your inlay job was beautiful. Was that a #4 plane you used to finish the inlay?
