I’m thinking of making a jewellery box as a gift and I liked the scrap box style very much. Not only it’s a nice look but also a way to minimize waste 👍🏼
I’m impressed with your project choices which I think together made for not only a GR8 array of gifts or keepers. Certainly not at all the same old choices on so many other “suggested simple projects” videos. And as a side note, I happen to thoroughly enjoy your personal and production style on this video. I think I understand what’s going on with someone who had voiced the opposite reaction. I think you probably know as well. Keep making!
I don't know what the first commentor's issue is, but I have been watching your videos for a couple of years now and annoying is not one of your issues. Anyway, this is one of my favorites so far. That scrap wood box is fantastic as was the chevron cheese cutter. I am going to make both. Thank you for the inspiration and your content.
I love your videos! You are so incredibly talented! I’ve been trying to get my daughter interested in woodworking (she’s helped me with small projects in the past) but she’s very intimidated by the power saws. We watch your videos together and I hope it helps her see that she can do it.
Ok your small details in videos are always great. That half second interruption of "oh I didn't need to glue this... (wipe wipe wipe)" is so relatable lol, and you def could've cut that out Awesome projects! I'm definitely gonna stock up on chevron scraps, seems like those would be great for these kinds of scrap projects!
I love this video, the bagel holder is inspired. So many people ( myself included ) would have just glued the dowels in place and ended up with something that looks great, but is a pain to store, the removable / storable dowels are a fantastic design feature, and I am not surprised that you wanted to keep that one for you! I think I am going to make one at the weekend, even though we never buy bagels..... Keep up the good work!
I watch all of your videos and this one might just be the most inspirational. I just got about 1000 pounds of hardwood cutoffs from a defunct cabinet shop, for free!!!. I was looking for ideas for what to do with all of this wood. this WAS PERFECT. Thanks!! Christmas, birthdays, weddings all DONE. Thanks.
Not annoying at all, contrary to previous commenters. She's very positive, upbeat, and good at what she does. I like these ideas, and may put them to use when Christmas rolls around this year.
All are terrific! Those trivets look so nice you could “store” them by hanging them on a wall or on an shelf in full view. Just take them down when you need them. Great ideas.
Beautiful work, Tamar! Really nice projects! 😃 I specially liked the cheese cutter! I just don't know if they ship it to Brazil... And the shipping from the US tends to be really expensive. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Haha! I just think this whole troll phenomenon is crazy and he needed to be put in his place 😂. He made that comment literally 4 minutes after I posted it. So he said that without even watching the whole video.

You know what's crazy? I paused the video halfway through to comment how I feel like you shot this video differently and how I think it's a very creative and unique approach. I am really enjoying it. And then I see the comment you pinned of some goon trashing your style. Keep up the great videos. I learn a ton from how you explain things and really appreciate how much effort it takes to shoot and edit your videos. Thank you for creating your content. Also, I REALLY appreciate how you explain ways to complete these builds if we have limited tools. That really goes a long way. Thank you
Well, thanks for taking the time to write out such a thoughtful positive comment. It is a TON of work to put these videos together. I do it all in my own with zero help (other then my 8 year old daughter), so it’s really helpful to hear feedback like this so I can keep going on.
I just started woodworking and subscribed to you because you are fun to watch. I learn just as much when you do something wrong, as when you do them right. I like your style and the out-takes are great. Much appreciated!
I watched some of your earlier videos and made some criticisms about safety and work choices. I am so pleased that your technique is so much better! Excellent technique and you efficiency is exemplary! So straightforward and creative at the same time. Really well done now. I think safe habits and efficiency go hand in hand. One tip on cutting dowels: when using a quarter round bit start the cuts not all the way at the end. The square portions at each end keep the wood square and prevents rolling of the piece while milling. Then trim the ends and you’re done. Keep up the great projects!
Thanks. In my dowel making video that’s actually how I mentioned to do it. If you see in this clip. I didn’t go all the way to end. The bottom was still square. I cut them to length off camera
👍For the storing of the dowels and the magnets! It's a simple solution but most importantly it takes a rather "boring" project/gift into something cool! Plus it makes it a better product... And the person receiving it will have to figure out what it is after opening it... Which makes it even more fun!

Miss Tamar, always a pleasure watching you work! Your scrap ideas generate good gifts while reducing your scrap pile. Love the box, trivet. And cheese slicer! Thanx for continuing to put out good content and I enjoy your enthusiasm! The outtakes are fun as well!
Tamar, that piece that was leftover from sizing the cheese board, could be made into coasters. It looks thick enough to be re-sawn and then cut into even squares. I keep a roll of sheet cork in the shop for this exact reason. Anytime I have leftovers from such a project or from cutting boards, I make coasters from the cut-offs and when I have enough to make a set I put them aside for gifts. I saved one big drawer just for these, and this way I'm making gifts all year long. Friends birthdays, anniversaries are always coming up, or if you just want to cheer someone up, I will send them something from the "gift drawer". Thanks for all the cool ideas!!

First thing I did was have an electrician wire the crap out of it. 100amps of power with ALL outlets being dedicated. Planning on making youtube videos in the near future. Always inspiring to see other makers on this site. Keep it up! :)
I’m planning on doing an upgrade! Can’t wait!
Wow these are all really fantastic looking. Love it!
Great gift ideas! I really liked how you didn’t waste any time and moved right along.
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Thumbs up. I make those scrap wood boxes all the time. Practically the only wood I have available.
Ha! Thanks!
Thanks for the idea! My son has cut fingers a couple times cutting cheese. Ordered the kit for him as a birthday present, and built it together. Even imitated your chevron pattern, turned out great!
Awesome!!!
I always go straight to your videos when having a you tube session. You are creative, your woodworking skills are always improving, your personality is engaging in a humble kind of way and your videography is crisp to my eye. I am surprised you don't have a bazillion subscribers...well, that would be a bazillion minus one given that other inane commentor. Thanks and please keep it up.
Haha thanks so much! Glad you like the videos!
Awesome idea on storing the dowels on the bagel stand.
Thanks! It was fun to figure out ☺️
Morning Coffee with Tamar :) What a great little video! Your timing is scary!......I was cleaning the shop last night...thinking about just burning a bunch of scrap....I guess there'll be presents under the tree after all...hahaha...
Thanks so much-I watch one of your videos with my morning coffee almost every day: you help bring a positive creative light into my day!

I've made a few decorative boxes before where I made the lid separate from the box, it never occurred to me to make the entire box and use the table saw to cut out for the lid. Brilliant method.
It’s fun to do it this way! Glad you got some info out of this!
Congratulations on your Woodcraft Magazine article. I'm new to 3-string guitars and found you here. I'm a truck driver, and TH-cam is usually playing in the background

You are so talented and informative! I’m a new woodworker and it’s a little overwhelming at times.
Glad you find the videos informative!
"If you are anything like me..." Yes, it is all too beautiful to put in the trash. I make jewelry boxes to use my scraps but I see some new projects in my future now, thanks for sharing.
Haha yup! I can’t get rid of anything. It’s all a potential project!

☺️☺️
I just found your channel and am glad I did. You have lots of good tips and projects to make. Thanks for sharing your time and talent.
Awesome! Glad you like it!
Miss Tamar, always a pleasure watching you work! Your scrap ideas generate good gifts while reducing your scrap pile. Love the box, trivet. And cheese slicer! Thanx for continuing to put out good content and I enjoy your enthusiasm! The outtakes are fun as well!
So glad you like them! Thanks!
For sure!
