I've got one of these. I'm really happy with my choice. I had no real knowledge of what to look for when I bought it, so i got lucky. The twist to open is great, I hope to keep this for many years, so not losing parts is great. It's not too harsh on the skin. And also, it looks really badass. A cool modern take on an old product.
Hi Geo Here's one for you, grasshopper! My father-in-law told me that when supplies were short during the Second World War he was told to turn his DE blades over and use the other side as this was still sharp! He says that it worked too but I have my doubts. Have you ever heard of this? Been meaning to congratulate you on the new website. Looks very professional. Well done!...
Hi Geo Another great video my friend and I liked the fact that you could see what was going through your mind even before you picked up that rose scented cream! LOL! The Mergress arrived last week and, you know what, I haven't used it yet as I'm so impressed with the quality of shaves I'm getting from the Futur! Keep it up matey and peace to you and yours. Take care David
Awesome video as usual man, just bought a brand new straight razor last week, cant wait to start using it.

It's a bit difficult for me to get used to shaving this way seeing as how angular my face is (mostly my jawline) and that I have to shave over my "adam's apple". Like you said before, though, it takes anywhere up to 30 days for the face to get used to a new shaving method. Thanks for the informative videos!
Oh yeah the Parker 22R is a very reliable razor to have in your shaving rotation. And for the price you really can't go wrong, very affordable. Great vid, peace.
Another great video, Geo! The Astra blade actually shaved flawlessly, I was shocked! I tried it out on my face and ended up with gashes everywhere! Plus the blades have an off-metallic scent that turn me off. I just used it to shave my legs recent though (swimmer lol...) and it was rather brilliant. I guess my face is too sensitive haha
My DE89 works great with an Astra blade for getting a nice trim line around my goatee and 'stache. I've thought about trying the clean shaven look so I can experience the complete wet shave. My wife says I look goofy with the goatee, so I don't know lol.
Great Video Geo, as usual. Thanks so much for doing the Parker Demo/Review. I'm wondering how much your results and reviews would vary if daily shaving were applied. Know what I mean? Seems like daily shaving is another game all together for me and most guys. What about you? Would you love half the razors you own as much much if used for every day use? I am really curious about this one! Thanks Geo... you're the best.
I just got my parker 22L from ShaveNation.com along with the sample pack of shave creams, used razor receptacle, two shave soap sticks (arko & Palmolive) along with a bowl, alum block etc....can't wait to use them. everything looks great. it got here quickly, too! being a female who learned to shave my legs and underarms with a safety razor I am looking forward to getting that bbs I USED to get....without the irritation, razor burns and missed spots I get with those multi-blade monstrosities. Thanks, geo, you da mang!
Geo, How would you rate these Parkers for build and quality against the older Gillette's such as the Tech's, Super Speed's and adjustables? In your opinion, did Parker in fact make a quality improvement to the 2010 and on models like I've read many times online? Or are the vintage model Gillette's still one up on them on fab, design, and QA ? Thanks Geo.
Hey Geo, great video. I just started with a Murkur 23c and I have to say the first 2 days my face is on fire. Any perls of wisom? I am using Art of Sahving pre shave and cream. Thanks Zander
This may seem like a foolish question but are there certain shaving creams that preform better with a safety razor and some that preform better with a straight razor? Are there certain creams that you would only use if using a straight razor? Or do the creams preform well regardless of the razor and not really factor in? Hope my foolish question makes sense.
Hey Geo thanks to your videos I have decided to ditch my Mach razor, no more painful shaving. AS a starter razor would you lean toward the EJ89 or the Parker 22r? I have been reading that it seems to be personal preference, just curious to what you suggest! Thanks in advance. - J
Does a razor like you are using in this video (single blade) do an overall better job of shaving, than all of these new-fangled hi-tech 3-5 blades on the market these days?
@JGD I use Astra their very nice blades. I can get 3-4 shaves pretty easy. Iv never really went past that there cheap and I just replace them about every 4 I'm sure you could get 6-7 respectfully I just don't. Thanks to a shipping error on my sellers end my 10 pack sample turned into a 60 pack sample so iv been using them for a few months
@geofatboy The 90R is not the worse razor I've owned, but its not the best either. Right in the middle. I got it because at the time I wanted a TTO and couldn't find a superspeed. I like my superspeed a lot more, and the twist mechanism in the middle of the handle kinda gets in the way. Its not a bad backup razor though. I'll probably do a review later.
Hi Geo, I'm trying to choose between a parker 22r and a merkur 23c, my main deciding factor would be the design itself. I'm wondering if the butterfly doors will wear out and make the parker 22r not last as long as the merkur 23c 3 piece. Any insight?
So did you choose your TH-cam name because you ride a HD Fatboy? I just picked up this exact razor, my very first safety razor. It had no instructions so I got on TH-cam to look for videos, and sure enough, yours was the very first one. Thanks for the review. I hope to have success with it when I use it in a day or two.
Hey geo love your vids I have this and the Derby Extra but I have abit of bushy wisker growth how can I put it its not rough textured face ye. But when I shave with it sometimes it feels like its ripping the facial hair off even though its brand new blade. Not sure whats going on any tips? P.S sometimes i end up slicing my face around and ending up with cuts and blood all over neck and face.
Even though it's an intimidating blade, trust me when I say this, i have a sensitive skin and I use Feather, best of the world, at least for me, cuts like hot knife to butter. Give it a try and see if it works.
@geofatboy It really is quite interesting! Well, we're taught to shave to increase our hydrodynamics, so most of us take it for face value. Normally I'm quite the hairy person (unfortunately :\), so I do feel a big different when swimming shaved. The results may be a lot less drastic for those who have less hair on their limbs.
Hi Geo Interesting comment regarding your coin collection. Is this as extensive (and valuable) as your razor collection? Over the last few months I've become quite interested in looking at the history of vintage Gillettes and (you probably already know this) a site from a collector in Germany (mr-razor.com) has dozens of fascinating old Gillette print adverts that act almost as a social history of the last century. Worth perusing when you have some spare time. Take care matey David
...On another point: don't you think that your TH-cam still on the "Ouch I nicked myself" looks ever-so-slightly camp? Goes well with the Rose Shaving Cream wouldn’t you say? LOL! (Only joking, matey!) Keep up the great work brother! Take care David
Maan, there's still enough lather for another guy to shave and for the wife to shave her legs. LOL! You said the same thing right just as I typed!

Its funny that it looks like Geo with Beard and Geo without Beard are brothers, and Geo with Beard is like 42 years old and Geo without Beard is like 30 :P

I have one of these and it is great. Brilliant shave every time of about three years.
I nearly got one of these, but instead I got an 82R. Good price, quality shaver. The 22R is pretty cool looking. Your videos are always helpful.

I have the Parker 22R and the Feather Stainless. I actually like the 22R over the feather. It is a very nice shave IMO.

Nice one, good to see you use my idea about the alum block it works very well, I may have a look at this razor as I do have a gap to fill on my stand.
I don't know why but I really enjoy watching you shave, maybe it's because of your awesome speech style :P

Is it good with Wilkinson Sword blades?
Is this a mild or aggressive razor by the way?
Have you used the parker 90r? How does it compare to the one in this video?
With the parker r22 would u use an astra or derby blade.
Whats a good safety razor to line up a beard?
how many shaves do you get out of a tub of TOBS shaving cream?
You have new logo I see. Very nice.
what brush are you using in this video?

how much, give me whole sale pricing

Where is this razor manufactured?
SavageCrnbread
India.
A big ol' Orange County Chopper mustache would've been cool.
I thought the point of a safety razor was to make only one pass. If I wanted a three pass I'd get a disposable 3 blade razor.
Amazing
@geofatboy yeah I guess :P you would be a good orator :P
Maan, there's still enough lather for another guy to shave and for the wife to shave her legs. LOL! You said the same thing right just as I typed!
