    I think one other factor is to start with shorter practice sessions and gradually build them up. If you go for a really long run the first day, you'll be really sore for several days and that puts you off. Be patient enough to build up slowly and don't have such long sessions that you can't face the next one. Be realistic enough to know your current limits.

    i've been watching so many videos about self dicipline but none of them did anything for me. i'm sad that this video is hard to find and many people cant use it. it was so helpful.

    It took tremendous effort on my part, to watch the whole video in 45 minutes, pausing every 2 minutes to watch some other random video. Thats how much of a self discipline problem I have.

      Sounds like adhd mate. Trust me I know. Before meds I couldn’t watch TH-cam without rewinding the same part 20 times before saying fuck it. The most frustrating thing ever. Also adhd is executive dysfunction so without meds you’re never going to be self disciplined, your brain needs dopamine. With meds it still rough as hell but atleast I have a fighting chance.

    Good information. Your recording levels are very low. In other words I’m listening to this recording while I drive in my car and have both my cell phone and car radio turned all the way up and can not hear or get your dialogue loud enough to hear everything you’re saying .

    I used to be like Allen before my grief, circumstances,and hopelessness get to me. I used to feel so good practicing, but now that I face a huge incline looking up from rock bottom those 2 hour training sessions or even small steps no longer feel good. I kind of went a little crazy once hope left me. Is that normal when you're life's work is tied to your soul?

    Some years ago now I started becoming more disciplined with my fitness, and it didn't take long to see the fruits of that discipline. What's really amazing is once you see it in one area it becomes much easier to apply to other areas of life. Being 'tough' on yourself, getting out of bed and getting on with it is one of the best things you can do in life.
