This guy explained 2 weeks of music class in 7 minutes
Am saying like TH-cam is the best school🐶
WTF
LITERALLY
lmfao
@@natoyacampbell3485 yes
everybody out here making things complicated and you just explained that SOO much simpler than anyone else I've come across!
I only just learned a couple weeks ago (46yrs old here and I played piano for 2 years when I was a kid and THOUGHT I was taught basic music theory back then) that notes are dynamically named based on the key of the scale you're playing in!
and you just explained all of that so clearly!
it's like there's this expectation by seasoned musicians that scales and note naming are just second nature and all students have to do is "just practice the scales"
but how can anyone practice something they don't even understand?
looking forward to reviewing more of your videos!
Glad you enjoyed! Yeah, getting the info in the right order to avoid confusion was a big chore. Everything is music is connected!
Bruh... This video had no right being this concise and clear.
super helpful! my teachers always just made us memorize the scales w/o explaining the underlying pattern, thanks so much
Same
had music class back in 9th grade and the teacher barely explained behind what the lesson was about
Ditto !!!
hate it so much
Wow
My brain was hurting until you came along my dude.. basically you untangled it😂. Thanks for explaining this mess 💯🤜🤛
I finally understood the major scales all thanks to this video 😭😭
This is awesome! I just entered the scale part of my studies on sax and was in trouble trying to figure out WHY we’re doing this. NOW I get it. Thanks
I have a quiz tomorrow on this and I came back from the Key signatures video and I have to say, thank you sir so much
I'm totally not going to fail my music class now! Thank youuuu.
Haha same my g
Why does that sound Sarcastic lmao
@@nanayvlog5625 no id does not
@@damiankuzma3189 The ‘totally’ made it sound a lil sarcastic though
I’m back again same time as last year
This really brings a lot of information in a short amount of time, and the presentation is simple but is also amusing as you bring bits of humor in between examples. The way you break things down is clear and is easy to understand. You're content is very helpful, thank you for that.
OMG UNBELIEVABLE , I understood it all . I WAS STRUGGLING A LOT WITH SCALES . THNAK YOU !!
You have the best graphic display on the music theory on youtube, so clean and pleasant to watch and understand, thanks to all of your team..!
Thanks so much! I’m a solo operation so far though!
@@BradHarrison have you considered making PDFs? Maybe for Patreon?
Great content, thank you. 32 year old guitarist, bassist here. I can play but I don't know why things work and others dont. Trying to change that.
I've just wrapped my head around G# major to find it's a theoretical scale. This was very informative and I've learned a lot about major scales. Thank you
Yeah, any spelling of a scale is technically possible but some of them cause more problems than they solve, so you’re not likely to see G# major out in the wild too often.
@@BradHarrison guitar tuner says G#, and I think "yeah in a minor key sure" lol"
Same reason as to why im here
Holy crap this was easier than I thought it would be, I thought I might need to focus on this 110% but I got all the necessary info despite eating while listening
I really appreciated this man, I'm in percussion so I don't use these things much but I had them for an assignment in band. You explained it really well and helped me understand it, thank you.
Yep! Good stuff for the new musicians and OLD ones rediscovering the love of making music!
@BradHarrison My son just started learning Piano, and was learning the major scales in theory during his classes. You just dont know how easier you made it for myself and my son to understand through your simplified way of explaning and mind blowing visual graphics. Your videos are simply an asset. Please continue to do the good work!
That’s great to hear! Thanks so much for mentioning!
This is the most clear explanation I have seen. Very easy to understand and remember.
This guy is awesome. The clear explanations, the humour ( does this chord really exist? Yes.) and the simple, easy to understand diagrams and editing are so much better than my teacher explaining multiple things at once and me mixing them up. ( no offence to her, she’s a great teacher ) Keep these coming please
This really helped me even 5 years later. I have a test tomorrow and this video explained so much in such little time. Thanks for making this video
Love that evergreen content! Good luck on the test tomorrow!
AH-MAZING!!! Thank you for making it clear and to the point. This is a blessing. ❤
one of the most helpful videos i've ever seen! Bravo, can't wait for more!
Man, thank you a lot! It's super easy to understand. I started learning piano not a long time ago using all the sources available and your channel is one of the best ones!
If Brad had taught me theory throughout music school, I would've understood everything. The graphic explanation of literally everything is so soothing, satisfying, and easy to comprehend, especially for neurodivergent people. And I'm East European, we use a different musical note system, and I still get it. My adhd brain is so brateful for this!
I play guitar but I getting into Piano we just got a new one for our child. I was reviewing scales etc from a piano perspective...wow...I really got some things cleared up that I guess I never paid attention to before, like why there are not certain major scales. You have some good videos here thanks much.
From 5 weeks of not understanding scales to 7 mins on understanding it! WOW! Can't believe it! BTW i am now subscribed!!
Forget music theory in college when have free videos like this
This guy is the best music teacher I've encountered on YT. Sorry, Pianote. I love Lisa, but Brad's da best.
You just saved my assignments from being total garbage. They explained this once in class but I didn’t really understand. THANK YOU
Thank you I've been looking for this pattern for a long time. I had an guitar Instructor so me this, it went right over head. I was not ready for it now I'm there. Thank you so much
I've seen the videos from "Music Theory videos" playlist and it's soooo helpful, I had trouble learning music theory in school so these videos helps me sooo much! Thanks!
Thx now I won’t fail my music test. :)
This is the best explanation I have ever heard. I can't believe how wrong I was about some things. I now know why G# doesn't exist.
The way you explain this makes it very easy to understand.subscribed!!
Bruh I haven’t slept for weeks because I had no idea what I was doing and you’ve literally just saved me thank you
Excellent!! Sleep well. ;-)
Simply explained and very concise and understandable. Thank you .
Bro you'r a fucking lifesaver, I am thanking you in the name of all the self taught musicians
As of now I have been struggling so much you came and helped my teacher always made me memorise it now I got everything right on my music theory you helped so much
This channel is a hidden gem!
I was ready to cry trying to do my music homework yesterday, now there is no need!
This was so clear and thorough and helpful. Thank you!!!!
Terrific channel, Brad - these lessons are both effective & efficient!
Thanks Geoff!
This is great for my now online fundamentals class. Thank you so much for great content. Much appreciated.
Thx bro
I was always confused at how Major scales worked and sharps
4 weeks of confusion dispelled in 10 minutes - because I watched it on 0.75 speed. Thanks, had to sub.

Nice
Love the way you present and explain things. I am getting a lot from you without being confused. I specially thank you for the video on circle of fifth. Anybody having confusion with the circle plz watch that video.
Finally! Someone who bothers to explain this in full detail and quickly.
Two seconds of this guy and i cannot learn much without class.
Brilliantly done. Thank you for sharing!
Judging from the comments below, I could hardly imagine that anyone would even think about making a video like this. Obviously the is a need for it.
Theory can be real confusing. And I thought there was room for improvement over the common style of “dude in front of a white board”. (Not that there aren’t tons of fantastic theory channels out there in many great styles. I just picked a style and went with it.)
extremely simple and easy to understand, thank you.
I love you. This was so simple. Thank you.
Just great at explaining thank you!
I already know this stuff and still felt I got a clearer understanding from this video.
bro i cannot explain how much this video has helped me
My teacher who explained that thing for 1 hour and still no one understood meanwhile this video is just 7 min and i finally understood everything 😂
Easy to understand, great job, thanks.
This guy a genius.
I’m subscribing today
Your channel is a godsend!
Fantastic! Thanx for sharing your great knowledge! 👏🏻👌
This is exactly what I've been looking for.
I'm mind-blown! Thank you for sharing
Very interesting and precise explanation! Sending you the best wishes, sir!! 💐🙏🏻🎊💯
Fantastic, this video gives me a lot of inspiration as a novice music theory teacher! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, this is a very helpful video. I just had to show it to my teacher, he was so surprised because you spent a 2 weeks worth of lessons it 7 minutes. This is probably the best channel that I have used for theory on the Piano. My Brother has just started piano and is struggling with understanding and when i showed him this he can't stop watching your videos! Thank you so much and I am definitely Subscribing and giving likes to every vid I can find! - Jaina
Glad you enjoyed! And thanks for much for the support!
Thank you brad. You were a huge help. 🙏
Very well explained. Thank you.
I know this is an old video but holy... you're a lifesaver for my Music Theory course!! thank you!
OMG. Thank you very much. So informative.
Your video are very helpful! . If before for me was difficult to understand these concept you made me easy to understand them! :D thanks a lot! I hope you will keep make new videos :)
Really helpful! Thank you so much!
This is great! Thanks.❤
Using this to reinforce teaching the whole scale formula to my class tomorrow. Your videos are awesome!!!
Thanks! Good luck with your lesson and hello to your class!
Brilliant. Thank you for explaining why we can have a B# and an E#. So much education in only 7 minutes.
I'm not getting why he is saying it is a C sharp when it is an A sharp showing in music notes not piano,,,,this is confusing....look at 3:39 and you will see what I mean
@timmcclements7657 check the clef. It’s bass clef.
your A major scale in music is coming out as f g a# b c#( e#no such thing) to f@@BradHarrison
@timmcclements7657 It would be if it were treble clef, but that scale is shown in bass clef. The notes are all different! Check my video on note naming if you’re still confused. Also, E# is a note, but it’s not shown in that scale at that moment(because it’s in bass clef.;-) hope that helps!
Par excellence !...complex subject material made simple. Superb work.
Im so glad I found this
this is a really helpful video thanks
Very useful, thank you!
Clear explanation!
Great Video!
Thanks so much!
Great video, thank you!
Most useful, indeed. You made it sound so simple! Thank you!
Great to hear it!
thanks for the great explanation
love this dude
Thank you so much you just saved my life
This is a great lesson, a summary of so much info! Thank you!!! I always wondered why some notes didn't have scales. Now i know the rule. (To those whining, this is a summary of things you should already have studied. It's test prep.)
Wow! Nicely taught.😊 L💚ve this!
This was so fricking helpful.
Thank you!
Thank you so much🤗
This helps me so much
Great!. I like so much. Thank you very much. Very very and very helpful!. The best one!.
Very nicely presented and explained
This guy saved me thousands of dollars for college and learned so much in 7 minutes.
An excellent summary
Thank you so much
I know it's three years after you've made this but at 6:50 that G is an A. Very helpful content btw.
Believe it or not, I think you’re the first person to point that one out! Thanks! I was thinking of reuploading some videos with those little corrections fixed at some point.
