The reason they roll the ball or try not to touch it, is because the game clock will keep running but the shot clock won't for that single possession. So it allows you to use up as much clock as possible. On the flip side, if the clock is stopped and you're losing the game, it allows you to advanced the ball up the court without the clock starting to preserve time.
Conversely, there are certain time thresholds in each half where the game clock won't start until a player inbounds touches the ball. That makes it a good strategy for stretching out the game if you're trying to come from behind

I know it’s quite long form content, but probably the best blooper/choking video on the internet is Emplemon’s “The Art of the Choke”. You guys could maybe do it in 2 or 3 parts, but it’s one of the best sports/blooper videos I’ve seen.

I can’t make sense of the PJ tucker one. For the dude that missed the breakaway layup I’ve def been there before. When u are sprinting full tilt it’s easy to hit it too hard off the backboard. U gotta either slow down right before u go up or adjust your shot properly.
I believe and I could be wrong but if they throw the ball in and no one touches it the clock does not start. So they sometimes use that as a tactic at the end of the game.
Traveling is like holding in the penalty box and shirt pulling. It happens, everyone sees it and it's against the rules but they rarely call it.

Fun fact: a basketball rim is almost twice as wide as a basketball. It may seem like there's not much room for error on a dunk, but there's much more room than you think
Fun Fact: You can actually fit 2 basketballs in one hoop.
And yes...if the ball is kicked...it should be ruled as such by the ref and the ball is considered "dead" and the team that committed the kick loses possession of the ball. If your team kicked the ball while play defense...then the team that has possession (offense) at the time keeps possession and has to pass the ball inbound to start the play.

Some of those plays that you question. When the ball is inbounded, the play and shot clock don't start until the ball is touched.
In regards to the "if the ball bounces off your head and into the basket...does it count?"
Answer: yes. any time the ball is considered "in play" and goes into the hoop...regardless of which team touched it prior...The ball counts as a score of it goes in. Only when the ball is ruled "dead" does it not count. If there is confusion about the ball being "live" (in play) the referee will give the scores table a signal or stop play to address the scores table.

"Onions" is a way commentators get away with saying "balls". This one was a "that guy has onions" to take that shot. If he wasn't on national television he would have said "what a ballsy shot". It is very common to hear them say "the onions on that guy"(or some derivative) when an audacious shot or pass happens in a clutch moment in American sports. It is stupid admittedly. I follow English sports and you all have a lot of stupid sayings too, they just don't seem stupid because you have grown up with them and use them all of the time. Squeaky bum time always makes me laugh.
And on those clear "travel calls" (Westbrook being the most obvious)...is most likely due to not enforcing game rules during practices. I have seen more players do this than I have in the past. Guys are walking with the ball while calling plays instead of dribbling or just holding the ball. This I would say is due to poor practice habits
