      @@RandomTechVideos I plan to commute 9 miles each way and charge it at work. Think this bike would be a good choice for that? I like the center console and would put my Yeti coffee mug in it. Think it would fit snug?

    • @RandomTechVideos
      @RandomTechVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MostAdmiredRelative Yeah it should fit I think fine. And if your commute is only 9 miles, you shouldn't even need to charge at work unless you just want extra range. Please remember that the console is an optional accessory and not included.
      I think the bike would be great for this use case. Just don't forget to do the speed increase hack, as it will save you time and go faster.

    Great review video. It was nice to watch a video that we are not called ‘guys’ 50+ times. The ‘um’ word was never heard either, showing you have excellent skills. This maybe the only review video on TH-cam not using the words ‘Guys’, ‘Epic’ or ‘Dailed In’. It was a pleasure hearing other words in the English language. Your original, keep it up! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤙🏼

    We bought three of the Rad Power bikes (two Rad Rover Step-thru's and one folding 20 inch bike). I think for the price you can't go wrong. I really like the new RadRunner Plus because it has shock absorber front forks that that basic RadRunner doesn't have. Very useful bikes, not just for recreation but can be used as an actual vehicle for many people in an urban or suburban environment. Great review, good luck with it.

    Hey there! I just stumbled upon this video while searching for Rad Power Bikes, and I have to say, I'm really impressed with the content you've made. It's great to see someone showcasing the features and capabilities of these awesome e-bikes. As an avid e-bike user myself, I'm always on the lookout for new and innovative products. Which brings me to my next point: I recently found a new crowdfunding project called the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. It looks absolutely fantastic, especially with its unique indoor recharge feature. I'm truly intrigued by its dual modes and the ability to charge it indoors. Can't wait to see more about it! Great review and overview. I received my Rad Runner Plus this week and this video taught me a few things about the bike I didn't know. Love to see if there are any after market compatible batteries to make picking up a space battery a little cheaper. I like the idea of the center console but it eliminates the ease of having a "step thru" so went with a front basket and the passenger package. Loving it!

    Great, no nonsense review. I am 73 and the step thru is essential not only because it’s hard to get my leg over a non stepthru, but it makes it much easier for everyone in an emergency stop to get your legs quickly on the ground. The main disadvantage of step thru bikes could be that they are not as strong not having the triangle of the top bar , making them more sturdy. This bike is built with a large extremely strong frame and the step thru design is not less sturdy than your standard mountain bike. Also the plastic saddle container in the middle of the bike totally eliminates your step thru advantage

    • @RandomTechVideos
      @RandomTechVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the step-thru is nice, but personally for me, I value the extra storage (where I can put a spare battery) more than ease of getting on the bike. However, if I didn't have the center console, it would be MUCH easier to quickly get on the bike, and my mom would then also be able to ride it.

    • @RandomTechVideos
      @RandomTechVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, mechanically, it can function like a totally normal pedal 7-speed bike, even with the battery completely dead or disconnected. It's a bit on the heavy side though, so pedaling might take more effort.
      If you have a 20 mile commute, I would strongly recommend having a spare battery, so you don't have to charge at work. Also, by using pedal assist level 3 and manually pedaling also, you'll get much farther range.
      Finally, please don't forget to do the speed unlock showed in this video. 🔓

      @@RandomTechVideos no offense, but I'm a barber. It's not that big of a deal. What will really make you go bald faster is the concrete scraping all your hair off next time you hit a deer. Don't be a dummy.

      @@themichaelmartinify it's still uncomfortable though for long periods. I wear my helmet and knee/elbow pads when going for a night ride, but during the day, it's a risk I just take. I like my hair (while I still have it) to be blown in the wind and don't like a chin strap. Also, it's inconvenient to transport my helmet.

      I have a helmet, and I do wear it on night rides. I just don't wear it every time.

    While it was a Good informative Video and He also, Stated what a "Good'" Company Rad is, which also, being a Rad Owner, I Agree.I thought that after all that has happened to this Kid, after Hitting a Deer with His Rad E-Bike, You would think the Rider would be Wearing a Helmet, and Glove's after "Dumping" His Bike and He was Lucky He didnt get injured alot Worse!

      Yeah I should wear a helmet and knee/elbow pads, but they are too restrictive and uncomfortable. I do now at least wear them if riding at night.

      You know, I hate doing this, but "Gen-Z" almost never watches TH-cam videos until the end, so it's really the only way to get subscribers. Anyway, I think I said to subscribe "only if you like PC and tech content", so if you're not interested in that, don't even bother subscribing.

      I should wear a helmet. Just can't be bothered sometimes lol, after a wasp flew into my helmet one day and stung my hand as I was frantically trying to take the helmet off 😂.

    Very cheaply made and they dont honor their own warranty. Spend your money on one of these at your own peril.

    • @RandomTechVideos
      @RandomTechVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All I can say is that in my experience, they honored the warranty and were very helpful. As for being cheaply made, most parts are solid, but I will admit the gearshift and derailleur are on the lower end (according to what my local bike service shop said). Everything else seems fine.

      @@RandomTechVideos Yeah, I have broken multiple spokes after one month of ownership. Never have broken a spoke before on any bike I've owned. They said that's wear & tear, I think it's cheap steel.

    • @RandomTechVideos
      @RandomTechVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gearshift had never worked smoothly, but other than that, I haven't had any major issues in over 1,000 miles on the odometer.

      Thanks. I'm glad you found this video helpful. I appreciate your support as this video took a long time to make, as my accident happened after the initial main review, so I had to wait a while until I recovered and got the bike fully repaired before I could finish it. Not to mention the hours of editing... The initial main review was recorded in something like August of 2021, and the second part/B-roll were recorded in April of 2022!
