      Yeah honestly we need more budget decks and engines that allow casual players who want to see what competitive play is like to have a chance. Melodious and Tenpai are close, but the older stuff isn't getting reprinted fast enough so the market is still pricing casuals out even on them.

    That argument of that OCG player really makes no sense. If you hit the consistency of a deck up to the point it isn't competitive anymore, you basically have killed the deck and it just becomes frustrating to play because you brick much more often with it. I will die on the hill that hitting the ceiling of a deck while keeping the consistency intact is the best way to go. Weaken it to the point where it sits at rogue or just below it, and let power creep do the rest. You can still play the deck perfectly fine, but it won't be broken anymore. When it comes to the casuals, while I don't know how the casual scene in the OCG looks like, they usually play a far more diverse amount of decks than what is currently competitive. The argument that banning cards in competitive decks will chase away casuals is one I'm very sceptical about. If anything casuals would cheer it on because that means their pet decks have a better chance against those decks.

    • @telepathicdragon
      @telepathicdragon 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you're right. Take tear for example, every list has a slightly different take on managing the ceiling of the deck and it's been fine so far.
      MD has been interesting because yes merlli is banned but having kit is so significant it'd be kind of weird not to have kit to regulate the general consistency of the deck's lines. Not to mention, idk if it really needed all the hits besides launching ishizu into the sun since they did effectively power creep tear with the introduction of bystials and kash as natural predators to tear who can snipe their fusion enablers and effectively remove extra deck pieces at will.

      @@deepbluejeer That's konami's fault for jeopardizing the validity of the decks in the 1st place. stop printing cards that you know you will inevitably have to ban and cause ripple effects through the community every time you do this. Konami can make bad decisions for both formats (look at how SE does in TCG with "ceiling hits" and 3 Ash), and its fair to criticize Konami for it, but for some reason people prefer to parrot shit like "OCG players are dumb/gaslighted/casuals at best" and its just pathetic.

    Also the Bonfire hit could matter for Worlds if one person on a team wants to play Snake-Eye and the other Rescue-Ace, You have enough Poplars and OSS to share between the two with it at 3, but either one player wants to hoard the Bonfires(probably the Snake-Eye player) or they have to 1 and 1 between each other and risk not seeing it as often.

      They don't ban the same cards tho. The OCG banlist is also smaller. In the most recent OCG meta report, the best deck was Yubel not Snake Eye.
      This Tier 0 format is not an OCG issue. It's primarily a TCG issue. Snake Eye is not a deck that plays well into Maxx C resolving and hitting things like Baronne or Savage did nothing to Snake Eye. Hitting Snake Eye Ash and Wanted actually did something.
      Idk where TCG players get these takes from, but Tenpai and Yubel are keeping up with Snake Eye in Asia. And in MD, Tenpai probably takes over due to the best of 1 format when it comes out.
      It's the TCG philosophy that's way more busted and showing many more flaws in this current format.

      @@dudeman209 the TCG players are too accustomed to the way the TCG do their banlist: “we’ll hit the best deck to the ground, it’s gonna be unplayable, and you’ll have to deal with it” and then think that it’s the only correct way to do the banlist. I never take a 1 person from the OCG perspective that seriously tbh. they can spin it to align what they believe and not what is the actual reason and we just nod and say "oh that makes sense" even when it doesn't. they don't want to hurt the casual players pet decks? they almost never hit non meta decks, also the cards in the OCG are a lot more accessible due to different rarities for the same cards so even if they hit a card it doesn't matter since it was cheaper at lower rarity. How does keeping Maxx "C" off the OCG ban list help keep casual players in the game????? it should drive players away since non meta/pet decks that get maxx "c" basically auto lose.

    I've learned playing MD that theres no point in kash hits if they open it every time

    The person saying Purrely was hit but almost nothing was done to Fire Decks is being obtuse. The fact that they're saying that means they think a 3rd copy of Purelyly is more important then a 3rd copy of Bonfire and Impulse. Obviously you want more hits to Fire, but implying Purrely was hit harder then Fire is crazy.

      We already knew at least for Snake eyes they weren't going to be hit hard thanks to the cards being reprinted in the selection pack.
      There were literally only 3 possible hits, Bonfire, Wanted or if they wanted to be unhinged one for one.

      Nah, this first chimmy is trash. Most deck doesn't special summon from hand that much since it is a net 0 card advantage. After all chimmy released, especially the one that hit extra deck, deck and Graveyard summon is out, we will start talking

    I'm glad they're hitting floodgates but I also wish that I didn't need to play floodgates to make my rouge decks viable.

    • @peepeevs
      @peepeevs 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really don't think they need to very often. People just kinda default to it as a tech option to make their deck "viable" because it's easy. Just win cointoss, flip floodgate, pass (because going second, those floodgates do very little mind you). I get really frustrated by this argument, because I am one of these rouge players, and I dont feel a need to play these floodgates. But I certainly get hurt a lot more by these floodgates than the meta strategies. If your deck really needs floodgates to even stand a chance of winning, you're not playing a rouge deck, you're just playing trash.

    And you're still propositioning for Arise heart to be banned?? Snakes eyes has been terrorizing three different formats TCG,OCG and master duel for MONTHS and you want the ONE card that actually counters snakes eyes to STILL be banned? You'd rather deal with an entire toxic ass deck(snakes eyes) than deal with 1 Arise heart?? Stop. 🛑 Maybe if Arise heart wasn't banned in TCG and OCG they wouldn't have held to deal with this toxic ass snakes eyes format for MONTHS because arise heart would have checked them.

    Ocg philosphy: “Let’s make our game worse in order to keep players in the game”
    What a terrible design philosophy. In no world should you be deciding to keep a deck strong in the worst dynamic possible just to try and fool dumb players into thinking that their deck is still good. If players switch card games it’s because they’re not having fun playing the game, trying to fool them into thinking that having “combo” 3 out of 5 games instead of 5 out of 5 games just shows an utter lack of confidence in the intelligence of your player base. Balance the game correctly, don’t be a coward. Ffs.
