Thank you, Nitsa, you are very artistic and experienced artist. For everyone out there who has never done this kind of technique, BE VERY MUCH AWARE!! this is not as easy as the videos make it look. I wasted a lot of money and time and was not successful. If anything almost traumatized me and made me feel so incompetent. I am renowned for not giving up and have done complicated art to a good standard. In any case all the best of luck.
Glad to learn from another Nitzah!!!! thank you.. I have been struggling with photo transfers so your TH-cam lesson was spot on! Now to get to work!!!!!
Thank you! I love your tutorials! They are always so inspirational, informative & useful! and you have a lovely kind aura about you too, a gentle Soul with a sweet spirit, which makes your videos a delight to watch ❤
Nitsa, I enjoyed your videos, especially because you always appear to be so cheerful! Thank you for the helpful and inspirational knowledge! I can’t wait to see what you do next!
Thank you so much for sharing this technique. I have been searching for gel plate transfers to fabric. I am a newbie to gelli plate art and you made it plain. Mediums are another material I’m trying to learn about. Now I know about fabric medium and how to use it. Beautiful work and sincerely appreciated. First time finding you and now I’m subscribing!
Probably pre washing 100% cotton, then ironing flat before printing would be a good idea. It will probably be a little wrinkled on other washes anyway-Cotten is like this, but preshrinking cotton before doing anything with it, if you’re going to wash it later, is standard among fabric designers. Then again, maybe the print medium stabilizes it in some way? And hey, such beautiful work..I’ve surely subscribed..love your channel and kind appreciation!
You are very talented and show and explain in details when showing how to do things. Ty for your work and for teaching me now how to transfer pictures to anything.. Mahalo🤙
The only thing that's stopping me from trying this is getting laser printed black and white images! Thank you for sharing your techniques and for being so generous with your knowledge
I can’t wait to try this. I am not sure if I missed anything but do u have to wash the fabric first before you start the transfer. Thank you for such a fun project😍🌴💕
Thank you as always Annette 🥰 Some people like to wash the fabric before using it, but I don't find it necessary especially when I use canvas! But if you transfer to a cotton shirt its probably a good idea to pre-wash it.
You are amazing and lovely person, your accent are so nice when you talk English, where you from if I may ask? And I love your works so much... well done🌷🙋🏻♂️

I clean it at the end of each session by pulling off all the paint with a layer of thin light paint. Every now and then I soak the plate for a few minutes in warm water and mild soap. I don't usually don't wipe the plate between prints unless I am printing photos and want them to be clear (usually I prefer grungy looking prints)
when you are printing your photos with this laser printer, are you running them thru the printer more than once? there seems to be so much disagreement on proper laser prints, with so many saying it won't work for them, and others insisting that color laser printer setting should be used even if using b/w image, not truly changing to grayscale but leaving RGB and using a color printing BEST setting. Could you share your opinion and experience on this issue? thanks!
Hi Jaimie, I only print once but I make sure to print the photos darker than the original and with some added contrast. I'm not sure why one needs to set up the printer to color, maybe it's a good choice for some color printers, I only have monochrome printers, so it does not apply to my process anyway.
I never had any success with inkjet for gel printing. But there are other image transfer methods that work with inkjet, like this one: th-cam.com/video/ssSkr8E8Emw/w-d-xo.html
Another great video. Since I found you on TH-cam, I’m getting back into art. I bought a gelli print plate and rollers and your informative book. Keep on doing what you’re doing.
I think it should work if the drop cloth is 100% cotton and like you mentioned, if it's not treated. If you give it a try, please let me know if it worked 💜
Hi Maureen, try going to the very basics and experiment with this process step by step. Use just one paint (like Amsterdam Standard Acrylic), in dark color (like black or dark blue), and quite important, use a high contrast clear photo printed on copy paper (20lb-28lb). Check out the "photo editing" chapter on page 154 to see how it's done. Color photocopies are possible to use when you are an advanced gel photo printer, not a great choice for a beginner since it's difficult to get high contrast with color copies. I hope this helps 🙏

Thank you so much for the tip and for the kind words 🥰 I think the medium does help for the paint to stick to the fabric and also to be washable.
LOVE THIS PROJECT

Sounds good! Good luck Gina 🙏🏼🥰
Thanks for the tutorial! Would the image hold if you wash the fabric? Like can you use it on T-shirts etc.
Thank you for the tutorial, Can I use fabric paint instead of Acrylic paint?
Big fan, but I had to say, I'm crazy about your hair ♥️
thank you for this tutorial, I am going to give it a try!
Sounds good! 🥰
The only thing that's stopping me from trying this is getting laser printed black and white images! Thank you for sharing your techniques and for being so generous with your knowledge
Thank you Gail 🥰 You can also use toner based photocopies, that's what I used before I got my laser printer 👍
Thank you! This was very helpful!
Thank you Lynn ❤️
Great tutorial
Thank you for watching Carol 🥰
Question - do you have to use a laser printer or can you use an ink jet printer?
I love you!!!!! 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Does this work with black&white laser prints or does it have to be printed in "color" even if the image is black and white?
I can’t wait to try this. I am not sure if I missed anything but do u have to wash the fabric first before you start the transfer. Thank you for such a fun project😍🌴💕
Thank you as always Annette 🥰 Some people like to wash the fabric before using it, but I don't find it necessary especially when I use canvas!
But if you transfer to a cotton shirt its probably a good idea to pre-wash it.
I always wanted to just print on fabric but don't know where to start 😩
I think this video will help! 🤗
I am so confused. How did those trees stay behind, when you put the paper down on that purple paint? I love your channel.
Its a photo transfer process using a gel plate 👍
I wonder if this would work on a light color denim
You are amazing and lovely person, your accent are so nice when you talk English, where you from if I may ask? And I love your works so much... well done🌷🙋🏻♂️

Totally agree, you deserve freedom and happiness 🤗😘
Good luck Renee🤞🤗
When do you recommend cleaning the gel plate? Should I be removing the dried paint between prints?
I clean it at the end of each session by pulling off all the paint with a layer of thin light paint. Every now and then I soak the plate for a few minutes in warm water and mild soap. I don't usually don't wipe the plate between prints unless I am printing photos and want them to be clear (usually I prefer grungy looking prints)

Would this work on a plain cotton tshirt? Thank you!
Yes it does! 👍
Hi Nitsa, great video! Can I use an inkjet printed image?
I never had any success with inkjet for gel printing. But there are other image transfer methods that work with inkjet, like this one: th-cam.com/video/ssSkr8E8Emw/w-d-xo.html
Another great video. Since I found you on TH-cam, I’m getting back into art. I bought a gelli print plate and rollers and your informative book. Keep on doing what you’re doing.
Will ink jet printer workbfor this process?,
I had no luck with inkjet for gel printing, plus almost ruined my gel plate 😝
I wonder if it would work on drop cloth material. I am not sure if that is treated with anything.
I think it should work if the drop cloth is 100% cotton and like you mentioned, if it's not treated. If you give it a try, please let me know if it worked 💜
What if I use fabric paint instead of acrylic with fabric medium?
I had no success gel printing photos with fabric paints, I think they are just too soft. If you have heavy weight fabric paints, it might worth a try.
👍🤩🥰
Couldn’t get the process to work. Does the laser printed image need to be high contrast, almost like a silhouette?
Yes the photo should be printed with high contrast 👍
Love your book and videos but cannot print my photos I've tried my laser printer different papers, paints and even colour photo copies. Grrrr.
Hi Maureen, try going to the very basics and experiment with this process step by step. I use acetone (Nail polish) + normal paper
but bad smell and very toxic.
I am thailand.
Yes I'm not crazy about using acetone as well
