The train in the beginning is a through service from the Asakusa Line to the Keisei Main Line to Narita Airport. Interesting choice, most others use SKYLINER, Airport Limousine, or Narita Express. The flight review itself is useful for Canadians looking for options outside expensive Japanese mainline carriers
Thank you for commenting. It was just the option Google Maps showed me from our hotel in Narita to the airport... But yeah sometimes I shouldn't really trust Google Maps that much😂😅 My reason for choosing Westjet was because it was an affordable way to travel from Asia to Canada without haveing to go through the US. Thank you and safe travels!🙏😊
@@theRealJohnnyG. the cabin baggage may fall onto them which in turn can cause injuries which means they will not be able to perform their duty efficiently.
Thanks for posting this. I live a few hours north of Calgary so wondered how much better the flight from there to Tokyo would be as opposed to Vancouver. Westjet originally started out as a discount airline and they were trained to be upbeat and positive so I'm a bit surprised about the lack of friendliness and junk attitude of those flight attendants, however I would hope for all our sake that isn't the norm now. Safe stay and travels in the future bro.
Technically that would be possible I think as it is within the reach of the 787 (not an expert). I think there is also a demand. But currently the only destinations of Westjet in Asia are Incheon and Narita.
@@theRealJohnnyG. I agree. It does not look amazing. In fact, the legroom seems to be quite limited and the food look horrible. But it might be ok to pay $1000 less than with AC.
@@missj.4760 Yes, and also it is a great opportunity to avoid visa hassle for those requiring a US transit visa. Because usually direct flights to Canada (with AC or Asian carriers) are a lot more expensive than US-transit flights.
@@theRealJohnnyG.Nowadays, flights thought the US are as expensive if not more. But yes, since Septembre 2001,traveling trough the US is a hassle, even for those like me who dont need a visa. And their airlines are not good. I just don't understand why the fare of flights to Japan have almost doubled since the pandémie.
@@あいうえ-b1t I recommend to check the baggage allowance for your booking again. Probably you can add luggage after you made the payment under manage my booking
Nice video, but the crew cant help put baggage up, they only get paid when the flight departs and they can risk injuring themselves prior to departure.
Thank you. A few people pointed that out to me now. Staff not getting paid before departure is something I really can't understand, hopefully they will change that in the future. I'll even be happy to pay a few bucks more so that they don't have to work for free on the ground, that's just wrong. But I am not sure wether not helping with the bags is only a Canadian / US thing. In many of my other videos I recorded on European and Asian carriers the crew helps the passengers with their hand luggage.
@@theRealJohnnyG.completely agree, ive also been on westjet and compared to competing carriers their service could be better, but for you keep up the great content😊
@@theRealJohnnyG. As a Canadian I can imagine it is probably because work insurance does not cover for these kind of injury. Either that or it is very hard to get money for physiotherapy once you are injured. I work at a drive thru pay booth and one of my coworker has an arm in a brace just because selfish customers refuse to approach their cars close to the window so she has to reach out. And she was unable to get money for physiotherapy and compensation since the injury is due to repetition and not a single accident. Heck, I spent all christmas vacation with a hurt arm too! For us, it's just lifting 1 suitcase but for the staff it would be probably quite a lot of suitcases per day. Other countries probably cover such injuries or just don't care about crew safety when lifting object. Personally I think if you can't lift your luggage, just pack less or get a checked bag.
She realized it when the crew was already serving the next rows. And it's not like that she's allergic to anything in it so we just eat what we are being served (most times at least)😂
Flight crew cannot help with your luggage. they are actually not being paid until the doors close and would nit be covered should they injure themselves with YOUR bags.
Thanks! not many people show the flight coming back, great to see
Glad you like it😊👍

We flew a WestJet Dreamliner from London Heathrow to Canada, well happy with the company.

Excellent travel report. Very informative video showing all aspects of your WestJet transpacific flight experience.

Fun fact. The crew are not supposed to help with the stowage of cabin baggage for safety reasons.
Ohh really? I didn't know. Why is that?

This seems like an outlier, Westjet's service is usually spot on and something must have went wrong, hope you have a good flight next time!

What If Westjet will also fly to Manila And Cebu Using 787?

Favourite airline in Canada
compared to Air Canada - absolutely
WestJet doesn’t overbook.
Okay👍
It’s great that Canada has additional carriers to Japan, but it seems WestJet doesn't provide a pleasant flight experience.
Yes, I agree. Considering the low fare it was okay but it's certainly not the service you will get on some other carriers.
Did you like Japan? I've been to Vancouver, BC Canada for 3 yrs working in an international bank branch.
Do you recommend it?

Hey I’m Japanese I’ll be utilizing westjet from Tokyo to Calgary too. I have a question. Did u pay or prepay for checked luggage?
If I remember correctly I prepaid for the luggage
