kudos for testing in champery these big rigs. Seriously this is the best way to test if the new school geometries and wheel sizes work! It's so amazing I want to watch more. A dh bike week a month would be perfect to me!
I have to commend you on making this a really thorough downhill bike test with your focus on really important things like chassis stability and big hit absorption rather than the usual rumblings about small bump sensitivity and the like. It was evident that this was about finding what defines the bike as a race bike and not how good it is at impressing your buddies in the parking lot.
Good stuff. Keep that level up.

At work I find myself drawing downhill bikes super often and would really love to get into bike design but after watching this video it seems the suspension pivots get way more complicated than I thought it's absolutely insane and super impressive

@@dhr1129 That´s highly subjective... If you live near a bike park or go there very often it is worth it, otherwise a Enduro or Trail bike are way better if you will have to pedal up... And if oyu want to tour, a XC bike will be the best... So it´s the best bike at the bikepark but certainly not for everyone

Finally some DH love.
I am still shredding the park with my Propain Hugene and it's 135mm suspension but start to feel sorry for the bike and asking myself, if it might not be more sensible to go for a DH bike on top..this video definitely makes me leaning towards the "sensible" side :)

I would love to see amaury and loic change bikes and here their opinions. But then again bike setup and balls of steel are most important in DH whatever bike your on.

Yes please! I really would like to know where it would be between these...
2 things surprised me. First, that the cube was the slowest, and second, the canyon was faster than the commencal. Iguess the cube would have bees faster if the rider was taller.
with such a tiny margin between Canyon & Commencal, I would attribute it to the riders vs the bikes themselves.

@Pinkbike please do a comparison of enduro racebikes and dh bikes on the same track. Should be interresting
There's a few of those vids out there and there pretty hit and miss because they never seem to use a proper downhill track, if they did it on the Champéry world cup track like they used here which is an actual pure downhill track it would really let the DH bikes shine. Enduro bikes are multi-roll, DH bikes are built for one job and they do that job really really well. If you want to watch a fun bike comparison look up Gee Atherton VS David Knight , i think its on the foxracing channel
Its a shame how expensive the demo has gotten compared to the previous model which had a full ohlins set-up and was cheaper and now the current demo has rockshox and is more expensive

The demo was too expensive because the brand has world champ athletes so it’s a marketing strategy for specialized. For me the best value for money and new tech almost same like the demo is the Canyon Sender CFR. No doubt! Best looking bike as well.

The Commencal supreme isn’t that bad at the start and the spring isn’t so stiff I put a higher weight spring and it still gave me really good sag %

That happens because youtube isn‘t updating the view-count in real time, but they are updating the likes in real time. The first people to watch a video are also the most likely to like it, since they are obviously active followers of a channel. Take these two effects together and you‘ve got higher like-counts than view-counts in a short time-interval after a video has been uploaded :)

Why do they build bikes with 11-speed chains on a 7-speed cassette?
I think the commercial supreme is a little cheaper just because it wasn’t as high ended and the other are expensive cause the brand is more popular, also my personal opinion is that the supreme dh frame is more sturdy

This video proves that at the UCI Elite level its more about the rider then the bike. If the Specialized is so slow compared to the Canyon and Commencal then why are the Specialized boys always right there. Sure, each bike suits each rider differently but I believe if a riders going to be champion its not solely dependent on the manufacture there riding for.
