Thank you for this video, Alex! Though there are several strategies to get a first client, I notice it all comes down to shaking off the fear of putting yourself out there. What’s the worst thing that could happen? Some potential clients might say “no” (and politely, I may add), yet all of them now know you’re ready to offer your copywriting services and can even refer you. Kudos to these students!

@ALLINSOCCER You should learn how to cold email then, and if you don't want to then just hire one. Personally I have learned it and its not too hard.
Yeah, I definitely would not suggest telling them their email was bad! Instead lead with value and explain why you love their company, how you can help make their life easier, etc.

I've got my first client at upwork after decades. And she give me a task of copying a whole pdf. Is this what a copywriter do?
It's hard to say without knowing the task in depth. If you are writing and are happy with your client, consider it experience! :)

Include the raw document you provide to your clients :) so the Google.doc - or whatever you use to type up your copy!

hello alex! i've stumbled upon your channel recently and got really absorbed into your videos. you're truly unique and incredible!! but i have a question: is your copy posse launch files training course designed for people who want to learn copywriting with the aim of freelancing, or writing copy for their business? it might be a stupid question, but i'm thinking about your course with none of these aims. my aim is to actually get hired by a company who would require a copy/content writer.
