I'm sure you guys already checked on the Multi-Awarded Madrigal Singers (of the University of the Philippines) profile and knew that they were the First Pilipino/Asian to win the European Grand Prix Twice and awarded the UNESCO Artist for Peace. Take note that they were all Sitting while Singing, I guess that is typical of the Madrigal Singing Genre.
Efraaaa crazy.. snake sound haha fell down on my chair laughing.. you got me there... Philippines choir madrigal put the Philippines in the world map long before Manny Pacquiao now wish bus.. different choirs of the Philippines won tons of recognition in the world competition.. but madrigal is unique among Philippines choir.. they are separated from from the rest of Philippines choir.. because of there style and technique of singing .. they sing in semi circle seated and there conductor singing with them.. the basses the baritones the altos and sopranos are mixed.. there controls and music progression is awesome.. the dynamics and controls are impeccable.. they sing in Acapella style.. so aesthetically there arrangements of there songs they don't need accompaniment because it is integrated in their songs.. their songs are categorized.. classical.. religious pieces ... Ethnic .. contemporary singing.. they produce different sounds like in animals and indigenous way of singing is a testament of the development of the sounds historically .. try one more colab with morisette.. to sing with them is an honor.. through out the years there are many batches already.. it depends what year you viewed them it's different choir members.. they are all college graduates.. some later become professionals on different field like medicines banking and professors.. they meet from time to time for reunions and concerts.. even in random singing or informal setting they sang beautifully.. you will see them singing in dining setting because madrigal in European settings sing after dinners singing in semi circle.. please react again morisette Amon as their quest.
The singer who is best known for mimicking a lot of sounds, including animal sounds, is Mike Patton of Faith No More. He is considered one of the most versatile singers that he can sing any genre. He can also sing 6 1/2 octaves.
I saw them singing live and I was just in front of them. And you guys, will definitely be blown away. And it felt like I was transported to another dimension. I was young then. I felt goosebumps all over my body. I was shivering while listening and did not even pay attention that I was filming them. I was blown away to the bones! They performed 5 songs in a row. And every time they end one song, everyone shouts "More! More! More!" 😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️
Fact in Philippines. Even in church if you want to be a choir, we need to passed a screening after that the audition after 2 months another final auditions. When you passed those 3 steps you can call yourself a Choir.
The soloist is Mr. Marvin Gayatgay, He is a base the sits on the center where usually the soloist sit, and it is a tradition or mandatory that the senior choir must be sitted on the center or at the inner of the semi circle
They are freaking awesome even during impromptu singing at the airport before leaving! Check out the Irish blessing song they sing before boarding their flight.
Hi Wale and Efra. The Philippine Madrigal Singers is an outstanding group in choir singing. This time, I'd like to introduce you to another outstanding Filipino group performing in an unusual genre. It is the El Gamma Penumbra and they do shadow play. They won the grand prize in the 1st season of Asia Got Talent. Please react to their winning piece called Tribute to Mother Nature. You will have another artistic experience, I assure you. Thank you.
The amazing thing about this is that they were all sitting down while belting and you can see hw much control they have with their voices and diaphragm and they have MINIMAL movement. It's so hard to sing while sitting down plus controlling their movements
MADZ's singers are truly incredible especially those producing the animal sounds. For them to sing this 'Lion King's Circle of Life's as a choir beautifully is amazing. Bravo!👏🎶
"The Circle of Life" was the theme song of the Disney movie "The Lion King." It had the African Savannah setting, which is why the Philippine Madrigal Singers' approach to the style of the song has that distinct African accent and a touch of the kind of music called "Negro Spiritual."
Thank you Guys for reacting to this. I so love Mads! This is the best rendition of their Circle of Life. Bringing the glory of African Savanah on stage.. please react to their Bituing Walang Ningning when they are on the stairs of PICC after their concert. ❤️❤️❤️
This is only a fraction of what they are really capable of. Please try to react to their winning piece at the 2007 European Gran Prix for choral singing, We Beheld Once Again the Stars. They are in their element with these competition pieces. Amazing.
It is true, it makes sense. Actually, HUMAN ends up conversing and be able to talk because of its genetic make up (FOXP2). Efra is a witty guy with a deep sense of inquiry. God bless everyone!!!
Please react to the song KRUHAY performed by the Madz next. I promise you it willl open up your mind to a different world in music. Efra actually was spot on regarding imitating animal calls while hunting to mainly get an answer back to know where they are. Hunters in US, I think can replicate Elk calls.
Izar Ederrak (The Beautiful Star)-- Philippine Madrigal Singers is my fave performance from PMS. they did it during a cathedral tour :) also, Jingle Bells Calypso during a reunion dinner in 2018!
Philippine Madrigals Singers (MADZ) also likes to sing after they eat or while waiting for food in a restaurant.. you should check these raw and candid videos out there and would love to hear your reactions and insights... the video titled "SOPRANO DUET FROM LAKME" is worth checking out.. CRAZY raw performance
Philippine Madrigal Singers' YANNI'S ARIA will amaze you with powerful soprano duet.. and also their live performance of LA GUERRE.. search for the one when they perform it infront of students wearing orange uniform.. the video and sound is clear and upclose and raw..
I ❤️ this vlog. Waleska and Efra always provide intelligent and insightful comments on every OPM they react to. Please, keep your excellent videos coming. Cheers!
Pleeeeaaaase react to Madrigal Singers singing PARAISO. It means "paradise". you'll sure love it. written and composed by our National Artist for Music, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab.
I suggest "2013 Busan Choral Opening Philippine Madrigal Singers" for the next. :) Though there are tons of other Madz performances that are really worth reacting to. :)
Or if you want something that is not on-stage performance, you can try "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas". In that video, they are gathered on a dining area in the house and just singin' like after eating. That level of casualness. Hahaha.
please react to "Sana'y wala nang wakas by Madrigal Singers 97 batch" it was like a home video that they took after a party or a dinner.... thank you so much

Mabuhay Wales ad Efra! Thank you for supporting OPM music and Filipino artist.
It's also amzing that they've assigned a bass to do the solo..
