Regie Duran 0 seconds ago Please check on Eumee's channel. She also performed with the Madrigal Singers singing BUKAS NA LANG KITA MAMAHALAIN (impromptu hehe)
They were "conducted " by Ily Matthew Maniano, the assistant choirmaster (and I think the arranger of the song as well and a countertenor) who's sitting on the left most of the semi circle, in the absence of their choirmaster, Sir Mark Anthony Carpio..
They have this amazing impromptu performance in Mont Saint Michel, they sang Izar Ederrak which is just heavenly, no mics, just their voices amplified by the amazing acoustic architecture. You should definitely check it out.
Sir Ily Matthew Maniano is an alumnus, resident arranger and composer of MADZ. It will be amazing if he can be your guest in your podcast with Sir Mark Anthony Carpio (MADZ's director).
Yeah, that would be awesome. The Madrial Singers (MADZ) is a world-renown musical choir which won several international awards in Europe. They've travelled worldwide and wowed different audiences/beautiful arenas. Truly world-class music.🌍🎶🌎😘🇵🇭
I have had the great pleasure of hearing them live. There were probably 15 of them, but sounded like there were 50 voices, in Dolby surround sound. They were singing "Sana MAulit Muli" I closed my eyes and cried. Amazing, amazing performers. Please check out their winning performance at the 2007 European Grand Prix for choral singing, "We Beheld Once Again the Stars". It's otherworldy.
I always dreamed of going into conservatory specifically University of The Philippines School of Music where Madrigal singers were trained. Due to financial constraint, it was just a dream now and I pursued another. Hopefully, in another life, I’ll be able to pursue my passion and desire to be part of UP Madz.
This reaction is one of my favorite reaction from you guys! Also, nd I'm freaking laughing at Efra ranting.. and I think I have an idea who it is .😂😂😂 .... much love to you guys!
you're both so young and yet to have such great depth of insight.👍 i think its so commendable. and thank u for reacting to madrigals, absolutely fangirling this group.😛
ALOHA Efra!!! Mahalo very much for your super passionate invocation of your true personal feelings... about the goodness of humanity wherever they hail from... Bravo myFriend.. Your mother is extremely proud to call you, Efra, her son. WALESKA, i didn't mean to leave you out.. YOU complete/compliment each other's contribution... Mark my words... These reactions uall have done will become the high standards for others following your footsteps... HA [HOOYAAH and ALOHA] PEACE 2UALL... The best is yet to come...
I’ve listened multiple times to this kind of music when I was still living in Baguio City Philippines at Pink Sisters every Sunday mass. That was about 20 years ago when I was elementary and high school. The sisters wear pink outfit and they sing like this. Now I live here in California.
Thank you for this channel for introducing me Ily Matthew Maniano. I agree with you both..something is pulling your inside when you hear this kind of music. It so good! Subscribing to his channel now because of you. Again, thank you!
You know aside from the reactions, i really enjoy the discussions between Waleska and Efra it is knowledgeable and relatable... I really appreciate you guys authenticity that sets you guys apart from other reactors/content creators.. I love you guys so much..😘
Their conductor sits at the right end of the semi-circle (left on the screen). One of the wild things I discovered in choral music is that a conductor has the ability to direct the choir just by nodding their head according to the music (Idk if I'm explaining this correctly). But for some reason, personally, I find myself reacting to that type of conducting naturally esp when you're already in the zone. Also, this only comes with a lot of rehearsals. From what I know, Madz always keeps a regular rehearsal sched. Andrea O. Veneracion, their foundress, said, (non-v) "I don't need the best vocalists, I need members who attend rehearsals."
When Efra talked about aliens and music, I was reminded of the movie The Fifth Element. When the entity with the long head started singing and it was just incomprehensible what she was singing but the sound evoked some kind of feeling in me.
I got to see them live and take a picture with them back in 2018! When they performed for Pasinaya in the Cultural Center of the Philippines. As a chorist myself who absolutely loves choral music, they're THE absolute idol. Plus, they're intimidatingly masters of the craft but they're so nice and easy to approach!
Music is the language of the soul. It is ever present in nature. The sound of leaves rustling in the wind, the flowing of the stream, even the low rumble of the earth is music. These things pleases the soul and connects us to one another despite language and cultural barriers.
I am glad you clicked on the Claire de Lune video. It is beautiful! This is why prefer vocal groups like Voctave (please do check them out!) They will amaze you and give goosebumps) that sing like a traditional choir rather than ones that do beatboxing (though I like them too) The arrangements just resonate with me more. They seem to embody or more nakedly show what it is to be human. Imagine a held high note or even a bass note, it immediately evokes a primal feeling and reaction in us. It bypasses our brain and just lands in our hearts or gut. Even a lullaby hummed without words can still evoke a feeling of safety and love. And multiple voices doing it at the same time magnifies and multiplies the effect. It strikes me as a spark of the divine that we can experience.
That was really very eatherial .i just don't know why iam i being emotional while hearing them sing this song which by the way ive heard so many times. Efra your such a genius.... God bless your family.
Listening to them is like... hearing their hearts and souls speaks/sings to me! What a gifted group!!! You might want to look up their William Tell Overture performed at the Tabernacle on Temple Square...
The state university is known for excellence in music, or at least strive excellence. .Our graduate Evelyn Mandac graduated cum laude and went to Juilliard. She became a soloist for the San Francisco Opera house and was the lead singer in the Micado.
I’m also a fan of MADZ (Philippine Madrigal Singers). The conductor is actually the one seated at the leftmost when watching them. Try to watch their Bituin Walang Ningning (originally by Sharon Cuneta), the one where they are performing in the stairs. Other great renditions by them are Sana’y Wala Ng Wakas(Sharon Cuneta) and Prayer to St. Francis.
Well, this is so wonderful seeing my favorite reactors watching one of my favorite groups - The Madz. 😌 My respect to both you have gotten to another level.
The Madz, as usual, are magnificent. Charice Pempengco sang "Bukas na lang Kita Mamahalin" in a David Foster and Friends concert in Manila a few years ago. I hope you could react to her version, too. It was one of the last few songs that Jake/Charice sang with "Charice's" voice.
You guys should hear them sing live. It’s magical. I heard them in a small church in our university. At some point, I felt like crying. The closest thing there is in England is the The King’s Men choir in Cambridge University while on a raft in the river.
I love a Capella and harmonies. My gosh. I was a choir member when I was in Elementary. And it's hard to stay in tune and in synch. I also love when you guys share your views on random topics. We do learn too.
I am lucky to have seen Madz twice, and it's just glorious. Their Rain medley was just hilariously good. At the same time, the Circle of life gives me goosebumps. All their songs are just heavenly.
Madz (short for the Philippine Madrigal Singers) is world-reknowned, winning all the international choral competitions they have competed in multiple times. They've been inducted to the Hall of Fame of Choirs many times over the decades.
You guys are too smart..I like listening to you guys..watching you guys is really worthwhile.aside from the fact that we speak the same language which is music..we are brothers in soul.
Im late watching but I’ll say, please check the Madrigal Singers together with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It was like in another dimension. Thank you 👍

I agree
Yes.i was just about to suggest this too.
I think they already did. It's the first performance they reacted from the Madrigals.
@@misschelle23 They haven't yet, The first one is Eres tu, I keep recommending Izar Ederrak on every madz video they've watched hahaha.
This deserves a thumbs up. I also wanted them to react to that but I guess they didnt see my message before. Here's to hoping they react to it.
Sir Ily Matthew Maniano is an alumnus, resident arranger and composer of MADZ. It will be amazing if he can be your guest in your podcast with Sir Mark Anthony Carpio (MADZ's director).

Waleska will be thrilled!!!! She can learn a lot since it's her forte!!! Hopefully they can visit their channel!!
Yes pls..
This is what i like the most of this channel ... The most intellectual ...
Efra was so eloquent. Bravo.
Thank you Efra for saying the Filipino language is a beautiful language.
I have had the great pleasure of hearing them live. There were probably 15 of them, but sounded like there were 50 voices, in Dolby surround sound. We Beheld Once Again The Stars. My favorite of all of their performances. Ever.
I love how they transformed this OPM ballad. I can't even explain what this sound is like, it's like a solemn church love song.
That's a multiple time world champion for you! 💕
Efra's mind cracks me everytime when he comment in a philosophical way.
They one of the best choirs if not the best in the Word! Winning multiple times in the European grand prix!
I always dreamed of going into conservatory specifically University of The Philippines School of Music where Madrigal singers were trained. Due to financial constraint, it was just a dream now and I pursued another. Hopefully, in another life, I’ll be able to pursue my passion and desire to be part of UP Madz.
One of the reason this channel is great is when Efra becomes philosophical and threw some random mind blowing ideas. Keep it up!
Music is a window "into the unknown"
Sing it with me. Into the unknooown,
Into the unknooown, into the unknoooooown, ahaaah ahaaah
This reaction is one of my favorite reaction from you guys! Also, nd I'm freaking laughing at Efra ranting.. and I think I have an idea who it is .😂😂😂 .... much love to you guys!
Name drop. Just kidding. Sorry, I don't have Tiktok so I'm not sure who he pertains to. Hahahaha.
Pllsss more reaction in MADRIGAL I am very fun of your reaction God bless you always ❤️
you're both so young and yet to have such great depth of insight.👍 i think its so commendable. and thank u for reacting to madrigals, absolutely fangirling this group.😛
Awww, Efra’s eyes glistened during the first chorus. Waleska’s so adorable.
Philippines madrigal choir is the greatest choir in the world. Winning 2x in EGP . And no other country won 2x in that contest.
ALOHA Efra!!! Mahalo very much for your super passionate invocation of your true personal feelings... about the goodness of humanity wherever they hail from... Bravo myFriend.. I was able to watch them perform at Northridge, CA in 2017 and they sang this. I couldn't help but tear up. It was such an incredible experience.
They are elite group of choir from the University of the Philippines. it's actually difficult to be able to pass into that group.
Thank you for this channel for introducing me Ily Matthew Maniano. I agree with you both..something is pulling your inside when you hear this kind of music. It so good! Subscribing to his channel now because of you. Again, thank you!

They do tour every year so you will definitely see them in person one day as they do make a stop in London once things are back to normal
If ever the MADZ will go on world tour again, after the pandemic, and might perform in London, don't miss their performance, Wale and Efra. 🤗🎶🇵🇭
Mama and Papa Herrera, you raised them well! I like the arguments and the opinions they said and its one of the reason I always watch your vids.
you should hear them live and all the hair in your body will absolutely rise😂they performed in italy and other parts of europe so many times.
2 of you are so genius for analyzing music 🎶🎵 pls keep on supporting phil music thank you!

The dude's slowly evolving to a poet from all the masterpieces he's heard... 🤣🤣
When Efra talked about aliens and music, I was reminded of the movie The Fifth Element. When the entity with the long head started singing and it was just incomprehensible what she was singing but the sound evoked some kind of feeling in me.
Hahaha...the aliens will drop their jaws to the ground upon hearing the MADZ!🤗😂😅🙃
I love when Efra talks about his theories and it makes sense in the end when it didn't at the start *talks in alien* 🤣🙌
Oh gosh this is my fave vid so far, You have such great insights I like the way you think!
Efra's commentary is really deep..
You can also check eumee capili with the madrigal singers
Yes please

The conductor is the guy on the left moving his head, he is not the typical kind who stands in the middle and sways his hand....
I am glad you clicked on the Claire de Lune video. It is beautiful!

Efra's mind strikes again damn!
This reaction is really killing me, it's sending me so much goosebumps, love it so much
Don't worry-I've cried with you.
hearing performaces like this makes me proud as a Filipino
Efra, u talk like a philosopher 😁😁
Efra is so deep, you are so cool man!!
Keep searching Madrigal singers.... they kept winning Grand Prix award in multiple international choral competitions.
More of MADZ please!!!!
The spontaneous encore reaction and the rant that stems from it --- total awesome sauce 😂
they have a great rendition of sharon cuneta's Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas
Madrigal choirs is one of the mentor of morissette amon, thats why mori's voice control is insane🥰
Please check on Eumee's channel. She also performed with the Madrigal Singers singing BUKAS NA LANG KITA MAMAHALAIN (impromptu hehe)
Yessss
These two are sensible. I love their profound opinions.
Listening to them is like... hearing their hearts and souls speaks/sings to me! What a gifted group!!! You might want to look up their William Tell Overture performed at the Tabernacle on Temple Square...

Well, this is so wonderful seeing my favorite reactors watching one of my favorite groups - The Madz. 😌 My respect to both you have gotten to another level.
It is more challenging when a choir arrangement is like that. Alternating position of voice types or ranges is another level👍
Agree with Efra's rant at the latter part of the video (except for the expletives).
Welcome to the world of Philippine choirs. We have many world acclaimed choirs in PH.
Wish to react also the Philippine Mabuhay Singers, they are also famous and Legend.
Beautiful reaction from both of you..Wow
Finally! Thank you for featuring the Philippine Madrigal Singers!
Awwwwwww guyssss thank you so much for the appreciation.❤ Waleska made me cried while seeing her tearing up! ❤
Waleska is so very beautiful!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I just wanted to let you know that I love you guys! You're probably one of the best reactors. Road to 1M! Mark this. 👌❤️
Waleska - talking in a technical aspect.
Efra - talking in an analytical aspect.
"Dwarves, small people...like me!" Walesa and Efra "Nothing's wrong with me...I'm a fine boy!" you two just make me smile so inside me
Philippine Choirs are so well known and popular worldwide they always win in every Grand Prix competition esp within Europe
Oh Waleska don't cry...Efra was teary eyed too. You guyz are truly amazing and genuine reactors.♡ you both!
You guys should hear them sing live. It’s magical. I heard them in a small church in our university. At some point, I felt like crying.
The closest thing there is in England is the The King’s Men choir in Cambridge University while on a raft in the river.
They are Internationally renowned... winner of many chorale singing competition worldwide.
One of the best songs ever composed for OPM music.
I think there was a video somewhere, where they sang it together with Lani
This repertoire is amazing, but you can also try to watch “Kruhay” of Madz it is an ethnic song that will surely amaze you too.
One of my favorite choirs in the Philippines. You should get a hold of their live performances! Something made by God!
Efra really has a way with words, he's like a poet, great reaction, stay safe and God bless you and your family always, watching from the Phillipines
And Efra😏😉...Both of them are intellegent reactors. They go beyond that superficial thing of a song...That is what stirs my interest listening to them.
I like it when Efra becomes mental. It's a rare moment, but certainly shouldn't be missed.
Efra...drummer, sportsman, philosopher 😆
He is genius too!!
Efra, you're so funny 😂 The part where you talk about "musical geniuses" is just downright accurate!
The choirmaster and conductor of Madz until now is Sir Mark Anthony Carpio. Sir Ily prolly just stepped in for a while for this tour, I think?
Madz (short for the Philippine Madrigal Singers) is world-reknowned, winning all the international choral competitions they have competed in multiple times. They've been inducted to the Hall of Fame of Choirs many times over the decades.
Please react to them singing Izar Ederrak in Mont Saint Michel
wow! just watching and unconsciously my tear just drop on my right side eye.. weeeww..
Thank you 👍
Performance was out of this world, my speakers cant handle it lol
Can you react to UST SINGERS? They’re also one of the top here in the Philippines. I find them very creative, you’ll enjoy their performances.
the GO TO choir, premiere and world class PHILIPPINE MADRIGAL SINGERS
back then it was my dream being a member of this legendary worldclass filipino choir
Maybe this time as you reacted so much on Filipino talents and to other nationalities you can compare who's most gifted counted when it comes to talent versatility.
you should react to more of their performances....
It’s haunting!!!! I got goosebumps!!!! Wale is so beautiful and I want Efra’s shirt. Love u guys 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕
Efra..spitting facts!about level.of music😌😆😆i love this.lad..ommo,.
