    If you ask many SFF builders out there…. Alpenpfon Black Ridge has many fans 🥰👍

      On top of underneath? 😆

    Using a Noctua A9x14 fan underneath blowing DOWN provides a significant cooling performance increase. The Phanteks T30 is even quieter when used on top versus the Noctua A12x25. I found I needed to use Loctite on the 4 screws attaching the mounting bars as they worked loose over time. The Noctua L12 Ghost Edition (bottom fan removed) with an A12x25 fan at 91mm tall runs about 4 degrees C cooler than the Blackridge with the A12x25 fan. I find the Noctua Securefirm 2 mounting system is much easier to work with. For another small cooler to test try the Thermalright AXP120x67 (67mm height with fan) - about the same performance as the Blackridge with a Noctua A12x15 fan installed.

      I wann try using my t30 on this cooler how were you able to mount it on?

    In hardware kanucks' recent ultra low profile cooler shootout, this very cooler with an additional 120mm fan on top managed to match the corsair h60 120mm aio, in perf vs noise, so you might be on to something there, wrt the included fan falling short!
    Overall great work highlighting the performance inadequacy here, no one should buy such horribly kneecapped cooler out of the box

    I personally use the included fan with the Black Ridge in my Skyreach Mini S4 with no noise or turbulence issues 🥰😇🤯

    I can appreciate how consistent the testing is. If were being honest though, SFF enthusiasts that purchase this product will most likely be undervolting and setting thermal limits on their CPUs to get this in a reasonable temp range. For example, i run a L12 ghost s1 edition with a 5950x and stay under 70c with tuning. That cooler could not keep that chip cool when set to default settings

    How do you think using a 92mm Noctua fan on the bottom along with one of the best 12cm fans (a phanteks t30 or an nf-a12x25) on top? It would be interesting to see how a double fan setup would improve things.

    Seeing how the 5800x3d runs hotter than the 5900x (unless you undervolt the 5800x3d), is it safe to assume the black ridge would work well with a 5900x at stock/undervolt? I also got the v2 but since I’m using a 3070ti fe, I can rock it in 2 slot mode and have enough space to use a 15m slim fan on top on the BR.
    Currently using my 5900x with an ek 240 aio (idle temps are 48-54c/ gaming temps 64c-76c) in the t1 v2 and I mainly use it for gaming only. Haven’t touched video editing, rendering, streaming, benchmarks, etc but I at least plan to stream and do some light to medium video editing. I hate water coolers so I don’t have to worry about clutter and leakage but still want to have good temps/performance while air cooling.
    I already have the cooler and a noctua chromax slim 15m fan but holding off buying the 5800x3d and sticking with my 5900x until I get a clear answer for my situation

      Did you get this cpu cooler for your 5900x ?

    • @HeyNavi
      @HeyNavi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joegalloway1613 i ended up getting the 5800x3d with the cooler. I saw some Reddit posts that the br could cool the 5900x in gaming loads but will struggle in other loads that use a lot of cores and what not. I mainly game so I decided to sell it to basically upgrade to the the 5800x3d for free

      @@HeyNavi How are temps with the 5800x3D + Blackridge & Noctua slim fan? Did you need to do any under volting?

    • @HeyNavi
      @HeyNavi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seanfarrell4749 I ended up returning the slim and went with the nf a9x14hs because I plan to get a 4080 which would leave me little space when having it set to 3/3.25 slot mode. At the moment I have the 5800x3d with a 3070ti fe with two t30 fans and temps are good. I never see the cpu go above 80c and this is with stock. I do plan to undervolt but I actually don’t know how to do that. I think one of my MB bios update allows me to use pbo through bios but again, seems to complicated for me lol.
      Edit: if you ever get the 5800x3d BR slim fan combo then I think you’ll see better temps. This also depends on what you use it for. I only use my pc for gaming and never editing or programs

    It's perfectly fit for the ghost s1 with an 12x15 on the top. Althought there might be limitation for the height of DRAM.

    Have you tried the NH-L9i fan on the black ridge? I'm curious to see what kind of difference a better 92mm fan would make.
