Well sorry for the late reply but its speculated that Melody was like the "backup/rebound partner" for Kevin. The song the less I know the better was about Sophie (Kevins Crush) and a dude named "Trevor." Which sophie dated. When he heard sophie broke up with "Trevor" he ran after her and left melody without a 2nd thought.
