I read this somewhere a long time ago. its actually Melody who got this guitar tone, Kevin was on tour I think and he left his home studio to her Girlfriend Melody, melody simply pluged in her guitar on kevin's interface and accidentally overdriven the interface's preamp. but she liked it and kept the sounds.

As soon as the song started a massive wave of nostalgia hit me... Just the melody and the way it all blends together with the sounds of the instruments and lyrics brings back so many memories of my childhood. Melody and Kevin were the best at what they were doing.

Totally agree. That's the key to my adoration of this group. They completely understand the possibilities... and when using standard progressions, somehow infuse them with spark and wit. Never scared to follow dangerous tangents either. Almost always results in bliss ;)

make me feel like im lost in the woods at Tahoe while this song plays, it just feels like it would play on a megaphone in the most random but memorable places. its jus so… nastolgic and majestic, feels like it shows me memories of things that have never happened before. it just feels… weird and i cant explain it.

Went to see Melody at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, and of course Tame Impala were headlining. It was such a beautiful day for trippy live music. I'll never forget it.
