  • How to Print on Mylar Balloons with Heat Transfers | DigitalHeat FX
When you think of a celebration or party, balloons are probably one of the first things that come to mind. What's a party without balloons?
If you're ever wondered how custom balloons are made, we're going to show you in this video.
And if you have a DigitalHeat FX printer or looking to purchase one, this is another way to use these printers to make money!
Find other DigitalHeat FX application ideas here - digitalheatfx.com/applications/
In this video, we're using the DigitalHeat FX 8432 to create heat transfers that can be applied to Mylar balloons. However, you can use any of the DigitalHeat FX printers to do this!
Learn more about the DigitalHeat FX 8432 white toner printer here - digitalheatfx.com/digitalheat...
    Here are the steps:
    1. Set up your artwork in Print Optimizer Software and print on the "A" sheet of the Forever Laser Dark paper.
Find Forever Laser Dark paper here - colmanandcompany.com/DFXLP-01...
    2. Lay the "A" sheet down on your heat press with the "B" sheet on top. Cover with a finishing sheet and press! Please make sure to check the box your Forever paper came in for pressing instructions as they may vary.
Find heat press supplies like finishing sheets here - colmanandcompany.com/Digital_...
    3. When the timer is up on your heat press, remove the top finishing sheet and start pulling the "B" sheet from the "A" sheet in a slow and steady motion. This is called the marrying step, in which the adhesive from the "B" sheet is sticking only to the toner on the "A" sheet.
    4. Trim the transfers to remove any excess adhesive.
    5. Prepress the balloon if needed. Then place your transfer on the balloon in the position desired. Add a finishing sheet on top and press!
    6. Once the timer is up, set the balloon aside to cool.
Note: While setting aside to cool, this is a great time to prepress or to apply a transfer to another balloon.
    7. After the balloon is cooled off, slowly peel the transfer off in a rolling motion.
    8. Apply a finishing press if you want a more "matte" look.
Now you're done! In just a few simple steps, you can create custom Mylar balloons for any occasion!
Plus, after a quick online search, we found that balloons like these retail for about $15 to $25 each.

Thanks for sharing your process. ❤. We did some mylar balloons about 2yrs ago. They come out great. These White Toner printers have many many ways to decorate things. DTF works, too. 😮

Does it have to be laser dark? Can it be laser light? And the presto metallic paper will work too?

Yes, dark is needed (but I see below you purchased), and Presto Metallic should work (I used Forever, but I think they are similar). Just make sure it can be pressed at a low heat.

Oh no! You can go as low as 200, make sure that the tab on the inside of the balloon is completely off of the press, I had that happen to me while learning too!
