Fish are looking amazin😊👍. Amazing set up, loving the RO system😊👍. Amazing that your pond is maintaining 12 degrees unseated👍. Keep up the good work….roll on the spring👍🐟🈲😊
Thanks mate 🙂 The R.O is still a work in progress, as the larger upgrade parts i'm looking at are fairly expensive... As i'm sure you know now you are running a Finch Filtration RRO 👌😉 It kept around 12C all last winter too, though it was a milder one than this year. all about the insulation...it has better insulation than my house! 😮
Thanks 🙂 I can't wait either... as soon as it gets above 10C with a bit of sunshine the covers will come off for a few hours, as it only takes about 90 seconds to remove them. ...then back on as soon as it drops cold at night 😄 It does help keep the interest in the hobby year round, when you can feed them at least once or twice a day...👌
Thanks, 🙂 It's unfortunately neccessary as my tap water is now crap... It went from 0.1 - 0.2ppm of just free chlorine, since 2001 to 2020 then since covid to 0.5 - 0.7ppm of total chlorine with 0.1ppm of combined chlorine by products and trihalomethanes...😮
@Garry Robson I use various for the RRO set up.12mm dmfit and 12mm LLDPE pipe), 3/8" John guest speedfit (also used on beer lines) with 3/8" LLDPE pipe, 1/4" R.O. pushfit.
Loving your acers bud I don't know if you've seen mine on my channel but I'll be repotting them this year 👍 and your fish are looking amazing you have some stunners in there 👍
Interesting update Dave. Do you find that the ro helps with nitrate removal. I have high level on the tap water and will either need to go ro or the resin route to address it.
Thanks, 👍 It was one of the reasons I went back to recycling RO from direct mains RO addition. I had to change a lot of water to control the nitrates during summer when I was feeding heavily. And not having the room for a large veg filter... The nitrate level in the waste water gets concentrated and is three times the level in the pond, which very effectively reduces it.
Cheers mate 🙂 Recycled R.O. permeate, plus dechlorinated is about 1256 litres a day at the moment. But i'll back that off once i'm settled at a TDS and KH i'm happy with, as i'm still in 'winter' mode. I had to shut down the Recycled RO for a pond treatment a few weeks ago.
The tap in valves are John Guest 3/8" Acetal and I get most of the parts from sellers on ebay, I bought some job lots of fittings from private sellers and other parts from ebay stores. 👍 www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3519243.m570.l1313&_nkw=john+guest+acetal&_sacat=0 www.johnguest.com/gb/en/products/drinks-dispense-and-water-treatment/imperial-fittings/grey-acetal-fittings
