  • I recently decided to bite the bullet and get an ASHP to mainatin my summer temperatures of 24C - 25C.
    I have managed in the past with just a 1kw elecro heater for 7 hours a day on economy 7 that would manage between 20C - 24C dependant on the ambient temperature.
    But I usually had to cover the pond overnight with polycarbonate until late June and then again at the end of August into September.

    Great video Dave, where did you get the mounting rubber for the ASHP from? I am installing mine now.

      £11.85 plus vat from Direct Channel for the 600mm each, you can order stainless steel rail nuts and bolts from them as well...

      I got the armaflex lagging from JTM plumbing,
      You can get a slightly cheaper brand called rubaflex, but i find the seams don't stick as well as the armaflex.
      they do have some bargain in lagging atm too, in eurobatex unsplit nitrile rubber.
      but it's a hassle gluing the seams you have to cut yourself back together, or sliding it along the pipe beore fitting....
