I admire your setup sir, there has been a lot of time spent on the filter house. 👌🏻 that is how envision mine to look next year when I extend the pond

      Thanks mate 👍
Just wish I had a bit more room in there, but the missus won't let me extend the filterhouse into the cabin lol! 😄

      Thanks 👍
The Dechlorinators and Recycle RO I put together.
The design for them is pretty straight forward, Finchy has been producing them for a while.
you can design you own system based on the booster pumps LPH at a certain pressure matched to the membrane.
and also match the membranes permeate and concentrate throughput to that.

7:56 The equipment may be admirable, but the flesh on the lower half of the KOI (chest to belly) is a little worrying. Feeding techniques are required to thicken the shoulders, back and eventually the tail tube.

      Hi Naoki 🙂
Agreed mate, but thats the problem with housing and feeding males and females together...
Females eat so much faster than males (got to watch out I don't get in trouble here lol! 😏)
So you either have skinny males or 'plus size' females. 😁
Plus we're just coming up to growing season here, so they should stretch out a bit too.

@@DavesKoiPond The results will be different if you are concerned about the feed being digested rather than the amount they eat!!

I got 2 of them in a job lot of 50 odd fittings from a private seller on ebay, but also bought one from here.

Beautiful. The fish look exceptionally healthy. Just wondering what your parameters are at; pH, kH, gH?

    • @DavesKoiPond
      @DavesKoiPond  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, 👍
The pH has varied a bit over the last couple of months due to treating for gill flukes, and not running the recycle R.O. when i'm doing that.
So for most of May it was around 7.5 to 7.7 with a KH around 3-4 and a GH around 5-6
But since running the recycle R.O. all of June pH is usually at around 7.2 to 7.4 with a KH at 2-3 and GH around 3-4
KH is maintained at 2 minimum with the Jecod automatic doser putting 400ml of bicarb solution a day. though my tap water has quite a high KH of 5 and GH of 12

@@DavesKoiPond Thank you for your responses Dave. Indeed you have done a good job. I can see that you have high standards and an intelligent approach to koi keeping which is actually a pleasure to see in contrast to the many other koi TH-camrs who think that aiming for the best is a waste of money. Ironically these are the people with the most fish. I am hoping that you use your channel as a method of educating the koi community. Teach people how to achieve what you have done

      @@modelshowblog-sj4rq Thanks, 👍
I do strive for the best conditions to keep my fish, as do most koi keepers.
We can, and do, all learn something from each others channels 🙂
